new style hacker 32cell

1 Attachment(s)
here is the new style hacker master 77 i just got for my boat. but with the large heatsink and and the pistol software mabey it will last on land. cost just $259

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 12:25 PM

lol, place it on a car!!!!! Screw boats! lol

Sneeck 11.13.2005 01:10 PM

Yep someone I know run's this in his emaxx. I must say it is huge, it must be though mounting it.

As far as he told me it is very smooth so it is a good esc. But the size limit's it to some truck's.

820maxx 11.13.2005 01:11 PM

just think of it like this instead of a weedeater motor brushless how about a boat now. its about twice the size of a 9918

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 01:19 PM

that is huge!

coolhandcountry 11.13.2005 01:33 PM

that is kind of big. you say it run 32 cells. what kind of amp rating. Does any one now if it has reverse. Is there a rpm limit to?

820maxx 11.13.2005 02:01 PM

77 amps i belive it has reverse.but it does have a brake. as for rpm limit i dont really think it has one it will run the high pole outrunners and does not list a limit.

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 02:09 PM

aww, only 77? cant use on cars then...

820maxx 11.13.2005 02:40 PM

why not it will handle almost 3000 watts put a low kv 4 or 6 pole or even a 10 or 12xl and 24 cells

MetalMan 11.13.2005 04:03 PM

3000watts sure is a lot! nbcaz, amps aren't everything. What really matters is the power (watts) that are put out, and then the voltage that is put through it. For example, a Feigao 7XL will pull 94 amps on 16 cells (accounting for voltage drop) when taking in 1500watts (output would be ~1350watts including 90% efficiency). A Feigao 12XL will pull 51amps on 27 cells (1.10v each cell) when taking in 1500watts, and since this would be a more efficient setup than the 7XL, it will be able to put out more power. So, if you have higher voltage you don't need a lot of amps.

@sicco/sneeck;

Doesn't Patrick uses one in his maxxes? he got it as a replacemant from Hacker wasn't that the case?

coolhandcountry 11.13.2005 06:45 PM

to add to what metal man said YOur run time is going to be greater as well.

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 07:04 PM

hmm so if i got liek a 7018, and put a 9xl, it wouldn't fry? interesteding...

coolhandcountry 11.13.2005 07:55 PM

I will let you know on the 9xl on 7020
I can run a 14L with a 7020 with no problems on 12 cells. It is not fast but has power.

nbcaznmaster 11.13.2005 08:37 PM

lol, its better then a HV-maxx!

highflier 11.14.2005 07:18 PM

I got a question....
I have the 7018 controller. I want to brushless my e-maxx. Could I get away with using it.

Currently I would like to get maybe a 10-20% speed boost from stock. and also gain run time if I use use similar performance. At the start I would like to just continue to use my current packs. 6 cell 3300's thus it would have to be a 12 cell system. Later I would like to change the pinion's and move up in voltage, At that time I may need a new ESC but would like to re-use the motor.

I guess what I am wondering. Would a 7XL be a step up from stock with 12 cells and would it be able to run on a 7018 controller. If so what gearing would be recommended for this truck. To make this more interesting I use oversize tires. (Hot bodies) Thus I am sure I will need a smaller pinion. Currently I have the stock 18 tooth, 16 tooth, and 14 tooth pinions in my parts box.

Highflier

PS.
I also have a huge hacker, But I am sure the KV is so low that I would need many momre cells to make it work well. So for the moment I am not planing on using that motor. (b50 15XL) I think, so mnay things laying around I forget without checking back to old info.

nbcaznmaster 11.14.2005 07:38 PM

u can.. but its not recomeneded. Ur better off buying a 9920. U can try, butt theres a risk taht it might burn up!

RC-Monster Mike 11.14.2005 07:44 PM

The 7018 would actually be better to use with higher voltage and a slow motor. If you use a lehner basic 2400xl or 2800xl, the 7018 will work quite well. I would use a fan on it for sure, but it is a pretty tough little controller if used within its limits. The 9920 is a better choice, though. I wouldn't get too aggressive with the 7xl and the 7018 controller. It will run it, but keep the gearing conservative.

coolhandcountry 11.14.2005 07:55 PM

I thought that was a 12 xl or something. I ran one of the 7020 on a 7xl. The 7020 is no longer with me. RIP If I remember correctly the kv was 1100 or so. A stock motor is only about 1400. The 7xl is alot more motor than stock titans. You could run the hacker on the truck with 22 pinion and 66 spur and have plenty of power and run time with out worries on 7020. That is what I think.

Sneeck 11.15.2005 01:58 AM

Rene,

Yes Patrick got his broken controller replaced by hacker's brand new one. Allthough it look's ugly it is butter smooth.

One thing I would do is throw some heatshrink around that puppy. Don't want to get loose dirt in there that might be wet causeing unwanted shortage.
