Do you hang with Bomb-Proof guy's? You both live in north Ga and have a love of pletty's

jordan... 10.03.2008 12:14 AM

Nice vid Matt, that looks like the perfect spot to run your SM  What wheels are those? Obviously not the SMRW's seeing as they have so much offset?

I live in Cartersville. Andrew32 lives Kennesaw and LarryDino(I don't know if he still has a truck) lives in Marietta. I know a few more guys on the Traxxas forum who also live in the area including a friend who lives in Alpharetta. Let me know if you want to get together. My dual brushless Maxx is always looking for a race.

plettenbergs 10.03.2008 12:46 AM

lets race...i will put on my other motor ...DUAL BigMAXXimums and Schulze esc's...http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/IMG_4399.jpg

What's_nitro? 10.03.2008 12:49 AM

I'd call that an Ace up the sleeve.... :surprised:

plettenbergs 10.03.2008 12:58 AM

Isn't that an old country song from Kenn Rogers :intello::rofl::rofl::rofl:.

Nice-looking vid Matt. It's a lot nicer to actually see them running :intello:.

jayjay283 10.03.2008 01:32 AM

I cant even speak of this truck, all that I put into my G4, im still not worthy

plettenbergs 10.03.2008 08:22 AM

hey Jordan(2nd best emaxx owner),the wheels are one-off prototype wheels...deep dish centerline style...i collect show trucks, wheels and bodies...my next video will be with the sickest lid i have...Hummer H2 with cool strobe light kit installed...this is my first BL emaxx and i will be selling off ALL my nitro stuff...too messy and hard to tune...i have run this truck through 4 10,ooomah runs without any issues( not even a loose bolt):mdr:

this truck will run full out for an HOUR on two Zippy 5s lipo's in parallel!:gasp:

*my secret to getting on a private golf course is this:1)find a course in a subdivision,2)go out about 1 hour before dark,3)enter where golf cart path crossed street,4) act like you belong there, pose ass resident with "cute little boy",5)run truck on differant hole each time to avoid tipping off the Mexican greens cutter dudes of BL activity:diablo:

Tempted 10.03.2008 10:39 AM

When do you want to meet up? I broke a couple driveshafts so I need to get back to HTU and pick some up but 'm pretty much ready anytime.

By the way, your twin motor Maxx is a little bigger than mine ;)

plettenbergs 10.03.2008 07:03 PM

Hey Tempted...where do you drive your truck?I cant get together tomorrow,I am going dirt bike riding!...Do you have a bike?...I love HobbyTown @Town Center Mall area...Every time i see a vacant building i say"that would make a great HOBBYTOWN"...I would love to own one!

I have a huge sodded yard with a giant 10 foot jump i made with my bobcat!...You can come over some time or we can crash CROOKED CREEK golf course!:mdr:

Tempted 10.03.2008 08:09 PM

No but I am actually looking for an Enduro right now. I have a 3 wheeler. Its junk, but its fun to ride(no brakes). I can always borrow my Dad's 4wheeler if I want. I bash in my backyard and on the streets in front of my house right now. I would love to tear a golf course up though. I don't replace divots ;) I just tilled a bit of my yard up and added some jumps to mine. Its 12' from the point of the ramp to the center of the steel pipe you see. This is my stock truck

http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...efusedMaxx.jpg

plettenbergs 10.03.2008 09:06 PM

now that is a BASH session!...the steel pipe landing ramp must be rough on parts!...i might have some plastic TRAXXASS parts to donate to you cause!...what do you need from HOBBYTOWN?

killajb 10.03.2008 10:50 PM

Hands down, that's one of the funniest most rewarding bash session I've seen.

Thats just a matter of opinion...

Thanks for the anwser, i didn't think UE did a run of those deep dish wheels, the only other set i've seen are the deep starr wheels. That extra offset really looks like it keeps the truck planted

P.S I don't understand how your truck weighs 12lbs, where mine weighs 14lbs

Tempted 10.03.2008 11:56 PM

I had to get some driveshaft ends, axle carriers and turnbuckles. I still need 2 more axle carriers and shaft ends because they didn't have anymore. So I have to use stock 3906 shafts up front. As for the bash session, that was a light one for me. I really put the hammer down when I run. Those are all my stock truck, I bash the V-Twin much harder. I don't really have any twin bashing videos, just some street runs. Let me know when your ready to get together, it would be fun to run the trucks. If your up for it, you could bring your truck to my place and run on my track. Its pretty tough on the trucks, I have to warn you. Here are a couple more bashing videos.

I live in Statesboro Ga. I have a beat into the ground Revo G2R (possibly the first one sold and assembled out of RC-Monster) with a quark 125/Neu 1515/2.5 setup. It may not be up to twin pletty's, but i'd love to mess with the dual VXl's :mdr::na:

Tempted 10.04.2008 01:09 PM

Well Cmon up. I'll run with ya. I use two Zippy 5000 3s packs in my truck. It runs pretty quick. Its the fastest V-Twin I've seen. The problem is the torque; I can't control it. If you watch the 3rd video, the wheelie was at about 35mph. It yanks the wheels up at any speed and causes me to lose control. Check out the ending of this video and thats with my wheelie bar at the lowest level.

plettenbergs 10.04.2008 07:16 PM

hey tempted...watch out for that mailbox!!!:diablo:

Takedown 10.04.2008 07:38 PM

Bye bye to anything in the tranny with dual pletty's.

plettenbergs 10.04.2008 07:50 PM

my all aluminum trani is "THE BEEF"....have you guys seen the ULTRAMAXXED gears!...brass idlers and aluminum 1st and 2nd:lol:...hardened steel output and input shafts!...i was stripping the pins in the input shaft untill i replaced them with allan keys cut down...now everything is so they say...BombProof... i think??...i do have three backup sets of the (out of production) Ultramaxxed gears though!:na:

Takedown 10.04.2008 07:58 PM

I would take that bet in a race just for kicks... I was going to run dual 37/48 1000kv 12pole outrunners & dual MM's in my E-Warhead on 5s each.

Get a longer chassis (FLM or the new traxxas one) and lower the car and its problem solved!:mdr:

I have always wanted to bash at a golf course! Looks like a ton of fun!

Duster_360 10.04.2008 08:00 PM

Nice vid!! Looks like the wing is pulling dbl duty as a wheelie bar! Bet if you took the wing off you could do a full flip by punching it!

Hope mine turns out as well, I'm waiting (patiently) on CC to iron out all the MMM probs - planning on using that to run a BigMaxximum. Thanks to you, Matt, mine is off to a great start! My brother is a builder in Lilburn, not that far away, maybe when....

plettenbergs 10.04.2008 08:21 PM

i can take to my top secret Golf Course!
Duster you probably have one of these already!
ebay has a chassis like mine for sale NOW!!...http://cgi.ebay.com/UE-Supermaxx-Lig...QQcmdZViewItem

FYI:i know the guy selling and he is legit...VERY reliable!...these chassis do not come around very often!...get the chassis for $650 and spend about another $2500 and you can have the Ultimate Emaxx!
well then you have to polish every DAMN piece till your fingers split and bleed!!...i still have night mares from that:diablo:

JERRY2KONE 10.04.2008 08:51 PM

$$$$

At least his buy it now price is $650. After seeing several of them sell for $800plus you know these are in demand and hard to get. If you are at all interested grab it while you can. The Lightning chassis is the best EMaxx setup there is.

I highly doubt it. I still flip my truck which has the gmaxx chassis, UE Monoblock, and setback arms from a standstill :intello::whistle:.

It was the best during its time especially when Lipo is not yet the mainstream. It sits the truck so high making it prone to rollovers.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice but with another chassis like the gorillamaxx , the rest of parts (UE suspension, GEnIV servo saver, other UE doodads) can be added making it as nice while lowering the center of gravity making it less prone to rollovers which turns to faster cornering speeds.

rabosi 10.04.2008 09:41 PM

I think we sometimes forget the power to weight ratio (torque output included) of these vehicles. There may not be much that can be done with these v-twin vehicles short of changing the ratio.

btw, beautiful truck plettenberg

You know what I meant!

Hahaha, it will help alot. But after all its BL:mdr: Have to roll on the stupid amounts of power

plettenbergs 10.04.2008 10:34 PM

you are exactly right...longer chassis and lo-pro tires will help a lot!!!
