RCM 1/8 motor mounts > compatibility between models?
Hello,
I post this thread because I need to know wich motor mount could be used on which car? I know we can use an MBX5 motor mount on an EB4 without modifications, but is it the case for any other motor mount? For example can we use an MP7 motor mount on a MP9 without mods? And for the Xray one, what are the suitable models? XB8 EC? XB8R? 808? Thanks for your help :). Christophe |
I would start by looking at the part numbers for the stock center brace for whatevr models you are looking at. If they are the same, then it should fit unless there is some wierdo setup change. For example, Ofna uses the same mount for the Hyper 7, H8, H8.5, and the Hyper ST. Mike's hyper mount fits them all.

On that same note, does anyone know if any of Mikes mounts will fit the Duratrax Raze ST Truggy?
(Sorry for the hijack)) -Brian |
This is a good thread and could make a great reference if everyone submitted their data from their setups.
I know the LS10 mount will work on the GT10. I believe the XB8 mount will work on all XB8 models and the XT8, but not the XB808. |
Sportwerks (mayhem/turmoil) same as Muggy

Kyosho mount works in the Hot Bodies D8, need the front and top kyosho parts too.

Hello,
thanks all for your replies :), yes I think and I hope this thread will help a lot of people. For the moment I have the following motor mounts : Kyosho MP7XX Mugen MBX5 > Fit Thunder tiger EB4 (S1/S2 = S3?) Xray XB8 > XB8R > XB8TQ > XB8EC > XT8 Ofna Hyper > Hyper 7 > Hyper 8 > Hyper 8.5 > Hyper ST Losi Eight Asso RC8 Cen Matrix GS Storm My question was wich one can fit which car without any modifications? Can we use an MP7xx one on an MP9? Same for MBX5 and MBX6. It would be great if someone of Rc monster could help us. Thanks for your help :). |

If it's the case it's a good news. Quote:

The higher one would be the 8o8, right?
You can use either one if you replace the stock bulkhead with the corresponding one, to offset the height difference. |
How about the HPI hellfire? Will the Hot bodies LSP buggy/truggy mount fit? If not, Is there any currently available that will?
|
Hello, any news for a motor mount for the MP9 Kyosho?
I can add here that the motor mount for GS Storm will fit the Piktor Rush 2. |
Hello,
can anyone tell me if we can use the motor mount for the Cen Matrix on a Matrix TR Arena mithout mods? If there is something to modify, can you tell me if the holes are the same? Thanks for your help. Christophe |

Ofna Jammin CR buggy and CRT are interchangeable. However, keep spur size in mind since the CR mount sits much lower/closer to the chassis...a large truggy spur used in conjunction with the CR mount could rub on the chassis. Additionally, either Jammin CR/CRT (CR is preferred because it promotes a lower center of gravity) mount will work with the DM-1 or DM-1 Spec.

will ofna gtp motor mount work for dm one
since chassis are similar

The Jammin (Ofna) CR Buggy motor mount is a direct drop in for the DM1. I used it in mine. The DM1 uses the Jammin dif uprights. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...CMcrbuggymount |

does anyone know if any of the mounts will fit onto a thunder tiger ER-1 ?
|
We have the ST-1 Thunder Tiger mount - not familiar with the ER-1, though? is it the same car? Got a link?
|
Just out of curiosity, is there a mount that is symetrical top to bottom so it can be flipped upside down? That would give the option of mounting the motor on the left or right of the spur.
|
http://www.tiger.com.tw/product/6238-F.html <== link to TTR ER-1
i thought it would have been the same as the ST-1 mount as the chassis is almost the same but it wont fit the ER-1. i have found a model which center diff mount fits but again it isnt a popular design/make [ GV models REX X ] |
The CR Buggy(Jammin') mount has the same hole pattern on top and bottom, but the top uses m3 screws and the bottom uses m4 screws. I don't know if the bearing hole is centered top to bottom, but it is pretty close. Most of the mounts do allow the entire center diff assembly to be reversed by adding a spacer underneath for spur gear clearance(puts motor in left front opposite the steering servo and is common position for dual battery conversions).
The easiest way to determine compatibility is to match the center diff bulk part numbers - if another car uses the same part number and the ST-1, then the ST-1 motor mount would likely fit. :) |
Hello,
it seems the Thunder tiger ST1 motor mount should be the same for the EB4 S3, is there anyone to confirm? Thank you :). |
