NeuEnergy Lipos any good?
I'm thinking of buying a number of NeuEnergy lipos. How have they been standing up to the other top lipos out there? I did some searches on RCM and did not find much info.
|
The NueEnergy lipos are excellent, I have two myself and they work great. You can also get some really good deals on their 25c lipos site on their web store right now.
|
I noticed the deals they have including the 2S hardcase car packs. I need some soft pack 3S & 4S, but I'm also thinking of picking up some new car packs on sale.
Anyone know why they are on sale? Not a quality issue? |
Not sure why, but they're all enerland cells. Can't be a quality issue with the top cells out there.
|
I only got to run my new NeuEnergy 3s 4900mah packs once before my Monster died a silent death but they where incredible and stayed cool! I will no longer buy MA 1/10+ size lipos (I'm still very happy with my 1/18 scale pack, their CS is decent and with my membership the prices on everything else are decent too). I have purchased a hardcarse 2s also and I'm waiting for it to arrive, as well as some replacement parts for my crt.5, once I get all that I will put that pack through some extensive testing. I had tried a speed run with my MA pack using slash tires and a 19t pinion with the Medusa 4800 and the pack couldn't provide the power, geared down to 15t pinion it's actually twice as fast.
Anyways I just think that this is a sale! I purchased mine because I knew they where Enerland cells and these are rock bottom prices! I saved over $120 on my 2 3s packs versus anything else! |
I'll second or third the quality of the neu 4s 5k packs.. but I have to say the Elite 35c 5000mah lipo's are WAY better than the enerland cells out there.. what a difference, I'm tempted to sell off all other brand lipo's and switch over to be honest. AWESOME! and a better price than the Neu's or Enerland as well.

How do you think they are better? What type of cells are they? |
I called Neu today to find out where an order I placed was at and while I had them on the phone I asked the person I was talking to why they were on sale. She didn't know specifics, just that they were clearing out stock because they are going to be getting "new" lipos. Not sure what that means, but I say grab em while you can. Good packs cheap! I picked up a few.
I'm wondering if that means... a new shipment of the same lipos or totally different packs? I guess well find out before too long she said stocks were running out quickly. |

I havent tried them, but they have some funky dimensions. Not sure they would fit in anything I have. 130mm is short and they are very thick cells. A 5s pack is 55+mm tall!:oh: But if they can deliver the current they advertize they should be some great packs. I'm curiuos what you like about them also. Do you by any chance have any eagle tree data on them? |
i bought one of the $60 hard case nue earlier today, its too good a deal to pass up.
my guess would be they are doing the sale to make room for the new 5100 25c cell packs and the 5000 30c cell packs, because enerland themselves are selling these now and so itd only mkae since for the people that use their cells to update also. |
curious what site are you guys using w/ such good Neu deals?
PS No eagle tree.. ive just run the packs and it's like a lipo on steriods.. it's just faster all the time. both packs are brand new the neu 4s 5k and the Elite, it's so noticable I'm almost mad I spent the money on the Neu.. btw they are pretty much exactly the same size as each other.. few oz heavier Elite.. If the price were right I'd still buy some Neu's as they are very good... but if there isn't much cost difference, I'd take the elite 35c every time. |
Right on Neus own website (www.neumotors.com) just click on the webstore link and then click on the 25C batteries link. I got a 5s 5500mah pack for $158 :):)
|
Those are all funky long batt's, nothing except the 2s 5k packs fit most battery trays :( Too bad.... those are nice prices.

Some guy told me a few weeks ago about Li-Fe.. He said these cells are like LiPos, but you can charge them really fast, and you can use them 10 times/day..
Did anybody also heard about the Li-Fe cells? |
Have anyone else tried those Elite 35C Lipos from cheapbatterypacks ?

life are great. 15 minute recharge times, 15 mins racing. charge straight after running, then run them again! (work the best at higher temps i found)
i got rid of mine as the just WOULDNT FIT! grr. if they were slightly longer and thinner or shorter and the same thickness they would be ideal but for me in a buggy it was too difficult. lower voltage too.... not that that seemed to matter in my setups. |
Thanks for all the replies. I bought a couple of 4s 4900s and a couple of the hardcase 2s 5000s. The hardcases are for my 1/10th race cars, but the 4s 4900s are to get my e-8ight running finally. :yipi:
|
I got two of the Neu Energy 5s 4300 packs and they work great. Tons of punch, great build quality, staying in balance. For the money, I couldn't pass them up. Built much better than th.e zippys. Zippys rock though for the money
|
I've been using the hardcase lipos since they came out and love them. I've got 30+ cycles on 4 of them and they are all going strong. I thought they were a bargain at $95, but $60 is too good to pass up. I also just bought some 3s 3900mah lipos and they work very well. The only down side is that they were a good 10mm longer than advertised on the spec page. So you may want to double check dimensions with a sales assistant before buying a softcase lipo.
|
Yeah my NeuEnergy 4100 mah pack was about 25 mm longer than advertised. Exactly the same weight, thickness and width though.

My work pc really does not like Neu's website. It takes at least 15 minutes to load the battery page. Worked instantly at home. |
100% certain. The site says all the 4100 30c packs are 142 mm long, but my pack was about 167 mm long and I had to trim the polycarbonate sheilding to make it fit in my 162 mm battery holder.
|
I just popped for a pair of 5500 5S XP's to run my 2.5D. Hope I picked the right ones......
Which balance taps do these come with? |
haha you could prolly get an hour of runtime out of 11000mah out of those packs JT......
i was thinking about getting one of those very ones just to run in the long mains and i can run my 5s 4000 proteks in practice and qualifiers. soon as you get them would you mind sending the the exact measurements of what the packs actaully are??? |

I'll post those measurements. You want the measurements in Metric, or in "english"! |

|
Well, I called and they did in fact hav emy order, BUT.....they were out of the 5500's in 5S. The only 5S they had was in 4900, so I took those.
|
I couldn't help myself. I just ordered 2 - 3S 4900's and 2 - 4S 4900's. I called to check stock before I ordered and she said they had at least 10 of each.
|
i got my conformation for shipping today and it goes out tomorrow morning, yay! i might be able to try it out in the lazer and J82 this weekend.
