Which one would you choose?

Kyosho Inferno ST-RR 1/8 Scale Truck ($599)

or

XRAY XT8 - Luxury 1/8 Nitro Off-Road Truggy ($599)

lincpimp 10.24.2008 11:15 AM

XT8 all the way. I have not owned either, but the xray is a much better made vehcile, and the parts appear to be of better quality. Plus every xray owner raves about the quality...

magman 10.24.2008 12:35 PM

X ray all the way as well!

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.24.2008 01:48 PM

The Kyosho is the truggy to beat at my local track but noone down there drives the xray

jhautz 10.24.2008 06:20 PM

Xray... But the RC8T looks real sweet too.

TexasSP 10.24.2008 06:32 PM

I say Xray because they have the name behind them. I have also always seen that kyosho parts availability is almost nonexistent at best. Plus the Xray is just a beautiful machine.

fsracer 10.24.2008 07:14 PM

X ray over Kyosho any day.

jayjay283 10.24.2008 07:27 PM

Id grab the Strr, Ive had a few kyoshos, well made, good parts availability, and the strr just looks cooler lol. The xray is supposed to be the rolls royce of RC, but parts hard to get. I hear its alot better now with them, but not something I want to deal with waiting 3 months for an aarm. Thats why I went with an 8T lol. Ill take them all though

BL_RV0 10.24.2008 07:49 PM

+1 on the XT8.

pb4ugo 10.24.2008 08:27 PM

XT8 is nice for sure. Nobody can bash Kyosho on quality though, or match their number of world championships in the class. They've been building top quality kits for four times as long as XRay. There is a reason all the knock offs clone Kyosho. Both are more truck than 99% of us can exploit the potential of so it boils down to which has the better support for you locally.

George16 10.24.2008 08:33 PM

So far, 6-3 in favor of the xray.

I got more support from Kyosho mainly because I'm stationed at the Navy base here in Japan. All Japanese LHS's I had been to carry kyosho parts but not Xray. However, I mostly buy my spare parts from Amain.

Or should I wait out for the MBX6T? The Japanese are saying it will come out early next year.

gtxracer 10.24.2008 09:26 PM

XT8 or RC8T hands down

Gee 10.25.2008 10:16 PM

ST-RR, but I am a bit biased. I got the Kyosho US Sport in a trade for a XXX_NT and have slowly been upgraded it to the ST_RR. It's been an good experience seeing the difference in the options that comes with the strr vs the rtr. Sweet truggies. I'm down to just a couple of minor parts left before I can put the ST-RR sticker on the new shell. Haven't had any problems with parts other then getting out bid. I wouldn't trade it for a XRAY.

Jammin57 10.25.2008 10:25 PM

I have raced st-r last year and st-rr this year and love it, only broke a few parts but it was my fault I would go with the st-rr parts are easier to get at hobby shops plus it already has big bores if you bought the xt8 you would spend another $100 on upgrading the shocks I have raced the jammin, kyosho, mugen and losi and so far the kyosho has been the best for me I just bought a rc8t(another option) and I am REALLY starting to like it

BlackedOutREVO 10.25.2008 11:08 PM

The K car is very hard to beat

The X2 is a sick truggy, and the best of all them IMO is the RC8T, has by far the most steering, drives the best of all them IMO..

mkrusedc 10.26.2008 12:43 AM

Adding to the fleet Lito? I have not owned either so I am usless for your question. Good luck.

Yes. I'm retiring my UE trucks and I need a replacement :mdr:.

I'm leaning more towards the ST-RR since a friend of mine here has one and he let me drive it a couple of times. I can say that it handles nicely and I like how it runs (it has an OS .28 ZX truggy engine on it).

Anyway, whichever I get will have a 1515 1Y/F on 4 or 5S. I just bought some 2s 25C 5000mah Neuenergy batts and can pair them with my 3S 25C 5000mah Neu lipos.
