9l in crt .5?

anybody run one before.....I want to run just 3s or 2s in this truck...using a mm no bec?

stock spur and I want maybe 40-50 mph

BrianG 10.25.2008 01:25 PM

There are a few who have run that and like it. Stays relatively cool considering it's a Feigao. But, if you run 3s you should still use a BEC IMO...

I will use a bec than .......what pinion would you suggest and its mod1 correct?

BrianG 10.25.2008 01:31 PM

Pinion depends on speed you want really. And yes, it's mod1...

bustitup 10.25.2008 01:38 PM

well I tried to use the calculater but it didnt have a choice for a crt .5 spur
and I dont know how many teeth are on a stock crt .5....I know I know go count the teeth.....to lazy right now:angel:

david lamontagn 10.25.2008 01:43 PM

crt.5 spur, is the same as 1/8 buggy standard spur, 46t.
And if you want my 1509, 2.5d/s (2700Kv), i can sell it................

oh yes I offered you a trade....but I just sent a pm for price

the 9l is about the same kv and a heck of a lot cheaper but I know the neu is much better quality

i ran the calc with 46 spur and I cant hardly get it below 65mph....lol....you would need like a 10t

BrianG 10.25.2008 01:54 PM

65mph? What settings did you enter?

Motor KV: 2731
Tire Diameter (inches): 4
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 3.29 : 1
Total Ratio: 10.67857 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 12.57 inches (319.19 mm)
Total Motor Speed: 30314.1 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 33.78 mph (54.26 km/h)

bustitup 10.25.2008 01:57 PM

The stock spur on mine is definitely 46t...

david lamontagn 10.25.2008 02:14 PM

The stock tires diameter on the crt.5 is not 4.0, but 3.5:smile:

BlackedOutREVO 10.25.2008 02:15 PM

The spur is 46 yes

The 9L runs pretty nice. Has good power, runs pretty darn cool also.

But if you can swing that Neu, DO IT!

And 4 in is std 2.2 truck dia, so 3.5 is buggy. Depends on what he is running

My crt.5 will have my Neu 1512, 1.5d/s on 4s, with proline bowtie 30 serie.
SHould be nice setup for bashing:intello:

It's not listed under Ofna because the ones there are "specialty". At the top, right under Miscellaneous, is the 46T spur.

A 1512 on 4s in a crt.5...look out!

david lamontagn 10.25.2008 04:55 PM

:lol:i'am crazy, i know it, but i like to have more than not enough:angel:

Snipin_Willy 10.25.2008 08:35 PM

I already posted on your thread but a 1509 will keep the front wheels off the ground running 2.2 gladiators. 1512 should be a bit snappy!

MetalMan 10.26.2008 01:43 AM

The 9L on 3s is a great motor in a CRT.5, especially with an 18t pinion and 2.2 truck tires. My MM and motor never exceeded 150 deg. F in that truck, despite the 45mph top speed. Can you say power!

entjoles 10.26.2008 10:08 AM

i ran a 9L (thanks BrianG for the suggestion) in my crt.5 with 30 series proline bowties and 14/46 , ran @ 135* and had plenty of power

3s

to bad i sold it , it is a very fun truck

those 30's look awesome.....what hex and what mount are they?...would I need adaptors?

david lamontagn 10.26.2008 12:22 PM

If i,am right, the crt.5 stock hex is 12mm, same as Traxxas rustler, and i suppose that entjoles have use the proline nitro rustler rear wheel at four corner:wink:
No i just take a close look at the pics and entjoles use the proline traxxas adapter for nitro rustler and universal wabash 30 serie proline wheel......

THis one:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMUG0&P=7
But entjoles correct me if i am wrong, but you need two set of this adaptor because you need 4 rear one and the kit comes with 2 front and 2 rear, right?

And this wheel:

yup:yes:

david lamontagn 10.26.2008 02:12 PM

I will put exactly this setup on my crt.5. But i don,t have the RCM extended one, but i,ve the new crt.5 pro with the extended chassis, but i think that this chassis is shorter than the RCM one. Hope that this 30 serie wheel will not look too bad on it:whistle:

bustitup 10.26.2008 04:12 PM

I just put a set of these on mine they look awesome....took them off a rustler i have and never ran them
