where do you work/go to school?

well just as the title says i think it would be interesting to see how the members of this forum spend their time when they arent messing around with their toys.

Ill start off

Im attending OIT (Oregon Institute of Technology) in Klamath Falls for a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, and I am currently a junior in the program. When im not in school i work as a mechanic/salesperson at a bike shop in my home town of Grants Pass, Oregon, and i have been working there since i was a junior in high school.

well thats it, i look forward to seeing what you all do!

lincpimp 10.25.2008 04:33 PM

I train midgets during the day, for circuis activities. Feisty litte buggers, I get bit often, but the benifits are great. On tues and wed afternoon I read to deaf kids. On monday and thursday I attend self help classes designed to curb my desire to urinate on public buildings (this is court ordered). Friday afternoons are usually free, so I like to drive by the senior center and look for a date. On the weekends I usually take it easy, it is amazing how much energy you use up danicing with someones grandma. On sundays I like to hide in the bushess near the 9th hole t box at the local golf course. It is funny to yell loudly when people are trying to play, I need to find a can style fog horn...

I also love to mountian bike. I thought that mt bikeing would be a cheaper hobby but after spending $3,600 on a bike($1,000 on one for my wife) and the fact that I live 3 hours from the mountains, it aint cheap!

BrianG 10.25.2008 05:26 PM

I know what you mean, I got a little over $5,500 retail into my bike!! at this point rc is cheaper, but eventually im sure it will end up being more expensive.

E-fanatic 10.25.2008 05:44 PM

I am asked all the time what I like better, my rc trucks, rc planes , or my mt biking. I tell them I like them all b/c each one of them does something compleatly different. Flying the planes ,very relaxing and peacefull. The trucks, competitive, and full of excitment(weather it juming really high, doing cool tricks , or destroying it in a big crash). Mountian bikeing, great excersize, great view, a way to get away for a day!

I work as an executive administrator for a small non-profit dedicated to the rehabilitation and retraining of circus midgets abused, neglected, or otherwise injured by midget horses in dangerous firehoop leaping accidents.
Linc is well known to us, and we are working hard to shut him down. The granny dancing is just a cover to sway sympathetic juries, but we've uncovered damning evidence of a violent underground monkey-butler fighting ring in Virginia. Just because they may fling poo at dinner time, its no excuse to engage them in deadly combat for prize money and candy.

Such a liar, this man has been kidnapping my students and shipping them overseas in tiny crates (so small that the midgets have to sit for the entire 6 month journey). I have video footage of him engaged in such treasonous activities as whipping midgets (against the geneava convention) and wearing women's clothing to weight watchers meetings... And he has many pictures of midget horses in compromising positions...:surprised:

I have no part in the monkey butler fighting, all of my servants are legally imported from china. As for poo flinging, well at least I have trained mine to clean up after themselves.

i work for an oil well product r&d facility. i'm a technician, and work with mechanical engineers testing their designs as well as customer qualification testing.

for those becoming mechanical engineers, please learn mechanics (hands on) before graduating and taking on you career. nothing worse than an educated so and so that sees themselves above others due to a school issued title when they can't apply in real life.

I work as a Sr Petrophysicist for CGGVeritas in the Exploration Divison. We process, analyze and evaluate seismic based oil and gas plays for clients who either are not big e ough to do their own or others whose staff lacks our type of expertise. My specific job is to condition and process well log data (porosity, water saturation and mineralogy) to help determine seismic to depth ties. I get to look at log from all over the world a find it both interesting and challenging. We helped with the recent sub salt discovery offshore Brazil.

I run my own business as well with other clients to just evaluate well logs and diagnose production related problems.

I'm once retired, very young and got called back into the industry for my expertise. We're DINKS - but have kids of the 4 legged kind.
