Good looking buggy you got there. Looking forward to the conversion.

DickyT 10.28.2008 06:35 PM

Thanks, as am I. I should have it in hand by the middle of next week, but I need the middle of next month to spend any money unless I get motivated and sell the revo roller off quickly. The rc-m diffs and a nice roller would easily pay for a battery tray, rc-m mount, and body with no nitro holes cut in it (one with said holes in included).

magman 10.28.2008 07:07 PM

I was looking at this buggy earlier tonight! I own a mbx-5 so you will love it.

DickyT 10.28.2008 07:50 PM

What threaded body shocks do you guys think I should put on it? It must happen, I hate dealing with clips. It will be track driven a few times a month and bashed the rest of the time.

BrianG 10.28.2008 09:04 PM

Why the hate for clips? I've never had one pop off, and they do a good job of making sure each side is exactly the same. Of course, they don't look as good...

mkrusedc 10.28.2008 09:49 PM

Clean looking DickyT. First an E-Maxx, then an E-Revo, and now a Buggy....have fun!

I see your point about being sure each side is even... I may just have to suck it up.
I hate them because I'm clumsy when adjusting them ad drop them in the dirt and lose them.

let's not forget the tc4, 18t, zx-5 sp

macr0w 10.29.2008 08:37 AM

I've got a Prospec roller sitting here that I used all summer. Your going to like it I'm sure.

I never had a problem with the shock spacers. Believe me mine was bashed and crashed plenty. I never had one come off. :mdr:

That thing is going to be a handfull with that motor. How many cells are you going to run?

Many moons...

drkros3 10.30.2008 12:56 PM

your going to love that buggy. i have one (nitro) and i love it. its super easy to drive.

DickyT 10.30.2008 04:06 PM

RC-M Revo diffs sold, RC-M mugen mount and battery tray ordered!

magman 10.30.2008 06:09 PM

I recently took my mbx-5 out for some practice jumping....for 2 full battery packs...5s 4k, the buggy was 8 -12ft. off the ground most of the day and I only bent a front shock shaft....so to say that it is strong, is an understatement.

Next time I will bring a camcorder! The only prob. w/a vid., is where we run is underneath a lot of trees so the lighting is not the best.

RevoRacer09 11.01.2008 12:44 PM

Anymore pics? im making the same thing.

TheRandom1 11.02.2008 11:27 AM

As I told you on IM, that thing is gonna be awesome man, can't wait to see it done!

BlackedOutREVO 11.02.2008 03:24 PM

For shocks, get the new MBX6 big bores, best thing you can do!

Big bores make the car so much better =)

Looking forward to the conversion

I have not received it yet. Those are he sales pics. The buggy should arrive today or tomorrow.

TheRandom1 11.03.2008 01:30 PM

I was really hoping it would take you a lot longer to do your buggy project than it's going to take for mine... lol

BrianG 11.03.2008 02:58 PM

Don't feel bad, mine's still not done either (waiting for the lipos so I can make the tray). Not exactly the typical setup, but this is my MBX5r buggy:

I will probably be trading my 18t for an x1-cr... that looks like what I want to do to the Jammin if things go that way. :intello: except I will put a front shock tower and shocks on the rear.. maybe..

DickyT 11.06.2008 05:37 PM

Will the Ofna hyper 8.5 diffs fit the mugen? I know mugen uses odd sizing. when I destroy them I;d love to put a set of the ofna 8.5's in

DickyT 11.07.2008 12:00 PM

Well... I'm having issues getting the buggy. The seller shipped it the middle of last week parcel post with no tracking or delivery conformation.... rather frustrating. I have the rc-m goodies to convert it here though! just need said buggy to arrive.

TheRandom1 11.07.2008 12:04 PM

That sucks man... you need a horse's head to end up in his bed? I know a guy...

DickyT 11.12.2008 12:19 PM

It arrived today, i will start conversion tonight!

TheRandom1 11.12.2008 12:23 PM

Congrats man! *cancels trip to Wi* lol

:yipi: told ya so!

BL_RV0 11.12.2008 08:22 PM

Cool. Can't wait to see progress.

DickyT 11.13.2008 01:31 AM

stripped down:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...1-stripped.jpg

rc-monster mount and battery tray installed: I will have to play with tray placement once I get my MMM back and get it balanced.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...-converted.jpg

other side: I used the scrap of CF that I cut off the mount as an esc mount. If\when it breaks I'll figure something else out.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...-converted.jpg

mocked up with my mess of MM wires! this is temporary, it will get an MMM and have the wire run much cleaner:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...4-mockedup.jpg

I took a few test runs tonight and rebuild the CD 4 times. I started with 10k and I have 500k in there now and it still unloads to the front when I get on it hard. hmmmm. I want to get a kyosho plastic spur for it too, it is kinda noisy ;)

drkros3 11.13.2008 01:56 AM

wow looks good. im still waiting on my motor mount from mike. for some reason its in kansas city. and its been 12 days and its still in kansas city.

hey i thought the rcm motor mount came with the nice looking servo mount too?

DickyT 11.13.2008 08:09 AM

Thanks :) The rc-m mount did come with a servo mount, I chose to stick with the carbon fiber. I have it in the spares box ;)

The Kyosho spur won't fit on the Mugen diff.

TheRandom1 11.13.2008 10:00 AM

Well, that was quick... are you sure you didn't do any of that at work? lol

DickyT 11.13.2008 12:02 PM

my V3 MMM just showed up! no more mess-o-wire!

TheRandom1 11.13.2008 12:16 PM

Sweet!
