where to get bearings for my NUE?

i need some bearing for my 1515, its the latest version that uses the larger teckno style bearings in it. I talked to one of the repiar guys at nue and i kept trying to buy the bearings from them and all i could get was "you need to send the motor in if the bearings are going out" Well thats not much help i dont wanna be 3-4 weeks with no buggy, trying to enjoy the very nice weekends for the next month and a half until it gets too cold. They wouldnt sell me the bearing because he kept trying to tell me i needed a special tool to get rid of the bearing slop...........its just the bearing there is no play where it might need different spacers on the shaft or a new endbell or anything like that, just needs a new bearing, they were trying to make it into a big deal, while we replace the bearings in our 1/10 motors atleast a couple times a season, its very dirty, lots of fine sand, and bearings just dont last, so im trying not to send it in unless i absolutely have too. So could someone please help me find very good set of replacement bearings for it, so i can change them myself and keep on playing. Im looking for the highest rated bearing i can find in its size, atleast abec5 but rather have 7s

George16 10.31.2008 08:23 PM

Boca bearings, Avid, TKO are just some of the places you can buy them.

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.31.2008 08:30 PM

So the 1515 and 1512 have the same size bearings?

rootar 10.31.2008 08:45 PM

i saw these on impakts site, im about to look up boca, acer, and the others.

i found those ^ at acer supposed to be the BEST and i found these at avid

or

http://www.avidrc.com/shop/?action=i...=1&prevstart=0

which would you guys go with?

rootar 10.31.2008 09:12 PM

and there are these from tko

http://tkocompetitiondev.com/shop/pr...roducts_id=376

George16 10.31.2008 09:13 PM

I'll take Avid over Acer. TKO is nice but more expensive. I have their ceramic cb bearings in my TZ.

rootar 10.31.2008 10:23 PM

so your youd choose TKO, avid, then acer in that order?

why do the TKO's look funny?

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.31.2008 10:29 PM

Boca make a bearing called Orange Seals or something which is Abec 7, not sure if they make it in that size though.
Has anyone replaced bearings in the Neu's before? Do you actually have to send it to Neu?

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.31.2008 10:33 PM

Just searched for them
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=docs&id=35
but they don't come in that size

rootar 10.31.2008 10:35 PM

there was a thread not but a day ago or so about the inside of a neu and a guy said he changed his, i dont see how replacing them would be any different than any other motor.

rootar 11.01.2008 12:56 AM

i ordered a couple pairs of teh TKO bearings i posted the picture of, ive been saerching all over the net and have seen nothing but great, great, and better than great reviews of the TKO bearings so ill give these ago and ill post a couple pics about changing them when they get here.

thanks for the help.

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.01.2008 02:12 AM

Let us know who they go
Anyone know if the 1512 bearings are the same size?

rootar 11.01.2008 07:51 AM

do you have the newest version? i thought the oldlerstyle used 5x10x4 or 5x11x4 i dunno forsure, post picture or grab a caliper and find out the outter diameter of it.

bradleyk123 11.01.2008 01:41 PM

Are the bearings in Neu 1515 not flange bearing? I am pertty sure mine were. But i might be wrong.

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.05.2008 06:53 AM

Got the bearings yet?

rootar 11.05.2008 08:29 AM

Just for future info next time you need bearing try going on line to VBX bearings. I found them a while back and ordered up some spares, because the price was way lower than most others and they have steel sealed bearings pretty cheap. After I received them I was very pleased with their service, their prives and the quality of their products, so I ended up purchasing more spares and they threw in a digital caliper for $10, which I now use all the time. I purchased like 200 bearings from them within a month to build up my stocks for my various projects and saved a lot of money. I also found out that VBX supplies a lot of the R/C companies with their bearings. The bearings are great and the price is right. So check them out if you need any more bearings. Good luck with that.

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.05.2008 10:03 PM

I checked the bearing size in the 1512 today and it seems to be 5 x 10 not the 5 x 13 in your 1515. I am ordering some for mine to.

rootar 11.06.2008 08:55 PM

DONT ORDER ANY BEARINGS YET !!!!!

they arent regular bearings they have a flange on them like the losi center diff bearings NOT the regular clutch style bearing......i got called TKO tomorrow and see if i can swap these 4 out for four correct ones.....

this sucks cant run the xray this weekend. oh well lesson learned, i should have pulled them out BEFORE i ordered replacements.

anybody wanna help me find some 5x13x4 Flanged type bearings? I already talked with TKO they were more than helpful to exchange these for some 5x10s i can use in my feaigo, great customer service but sadly they dont make a 5x13 flanged bearing....so i gotta search else where.

bradleyk123 11.06.2008 10:36 PM

I posted a messeg on the first page that they where flange, but you might have already order yours .but these are the ones i put in my 1515.
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...=SMF695C-ZZ_#7
if these are more than you want to pay check these.
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...ksearchbearing

rootar 11.06.2008 10:47 PM

i was looking through all boca's 5x13x4 flanged bearings right now,

yea i guess i missed that....

rootar 11.06.2008 10:59 PM

HOLY CRAP $70 for 2 bearings, YEA right.

i was looking at getting the ultra seal ones, but still thats $30 for two freakin bearings, hell the TKO bearings were less than $4 each these are stupid expensive.

bradleyk123 11.06.2008 11:09 PM

just make sure they will handle 60,000 rpm's or you will be replacing them often. but you got to think that is a 260.00 motor that you are putting $4.00 bearings in.
Just my 10 cents. You can pay now or really pay for it in the in. I guess the main thing is that they can handle 60,000 rpm's in the end and you should be able to find some for around 30.00 total, Its your motor.

bradleyk123 11.06.2008 11:22 PM

Here are some cheaper ones for $15.00 each and they can handle 60,000 rpm
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...ksearchbearing

rootar 11.07.2008 12:35 AM

yea but a $260 motor shouldnt go through bearings every couple months, itd cost more in bearings in one year than a new motor would cost at my rate.....

im looking for a sealed bearing.

rootar 11.07.2008 12:52 AM

since my motor will never exceed 33-34k rpm is the 60k rpm bearing nessecary? all of the cheaper bearings are abec1 which aint very great. but if i hsve to im looking at these because their sealed http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...6&n=SMF695-2RS , im also looking at these http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...228&n=MF695-UU because after research the ultra seal bearings are supposed to work very well.

what would you chose, its extremely sandy and ultra fine dust....

JERRY2KONE 11.07.2008 03:53 AM

Bearing Info.

Try checking this site out. www.vxb.com. I found that they seem to carry most R/C bearings, and they may have what you need for a fare price.

rootar 11.07.2008 08:37 AM

only ones i could find at vbx were just a sheilded set of 10 for $40 i dont really need 10 and they dont have the exact specs on materials and such so i dunno how well they hold up.

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.10.2008 01:21 AM

Damn, oh well already ordered them. 2 of the TKO bearings were only $6, pretty common size so might be able to sell them. Luckly Mugen, GS, JR all sell 5 x 10mm flanged bearings so should still be easy to get bearings for the 1512

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.10.2008 01:36 AM

What would be the best seal for the motor - teflon, rubber, metal?
Duratrax, Acer etc. etc. do flange bearings in 5 x 10 in difference seals.
Only thing I could find in 5 x 13 was this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rc-Screwz-5x13x4...1%7C240%3A1318

Thinking of giving these bearings a try
Rubber Sealed http://cgi.ebay.com/Rubber-Sealed-Be...1%7C240%3A1318
Teflon Sealed http://cgi.ebay.com/Teflon-Sealed-Be...1%7C240%3A1318
Or even these
http://cgi.ebay.com/5x10x4mm-FLANGED...1%7C240%3A1318

rootar 11.10.2008 01:44 AM

yea im sending my 1515 back to neu tomorrow, and let them do it since i ordered a new teckno 1512 3d, but yea i wish mine were 5x10 flanged those are much easier to get at good prices

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.10.2008 01:44 AM

I just found some Teflon Sealed 5 x 13 x 4 10 pc of bearings for $5.99 for you
http://www.buyrc.net/catalog/product...4a8da8d6491094
Or even Ceramic ones
http://www.buyrc.net/catalog/product...products_id=87

rootar 11.10.2008 07:51 AM

they have to be flanged......

those wont work

rootar 11.10.2008 08:19 AM

http://www.rcmarket.org/5x13x4-f-pr-20468.html
i did just find those, dunno anything about the manufacturer, and they arent seald.....

so i dunno, also found these on horizon, i guess youd have to get 2 packs of 3 for an even set, they are made by rc screwz and there is no info on the bearings...

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=RCZBF695ZZ

rootar 11.10.2008 01:55 PM

i guess i finally talked to the right person at neu today and they sold me a tube of 10 of their bearings at a good price, so if anyone needs a pair of 5x13x4 flanged baerings for their neu just pm me, ill have a few extra pairs to spare.

tc3_racer_001 11.10.2008 06:07 PM

i was going to suggest that... glad you got it all sorted though!

rootar 11.10.2008 11:58 PM

well week before last they absolutely wouldnt sell me bearings, i had to send my motor back or nothing, today i talked to sombody i hadnt before and they were much more helpful, their only concern was that i had the correct tool to install the bearings.

What's_nitro? 11.11.2008 12:33 AM

Ummmm I use a 3" framing nail to pull bearings..... I'm more careful putting the new ones in, though.
