New mini

There is a new mini on the market. It's a associated rc18b, the b stands for BUGGY. It looks just like a 1/8 buggy. I was looking at the new losi but know i dont know. I would post a link but i dont know how sorry.

standard_63 11.25.2005 12:21 PM

I just got the new mini losi, so far I like it better than the mini associated I have. It definitely needs BL/Lipo though~so far it's kinda slow. Neat design though.

Keep us updated .

i've seen that, it looks JUST LIKE A RC18t! they aren't very orgional. I bet 95% of the stuff is interchangable.

Thats a good thing, that means there should be plenty of after market parts.

nbcaznmaster 11.25.2005 01:55 PM

true, but again, sometimes its annoying to see the same thign OVER adn OVER again. The rc18t design wasnt PERFECT! so why did they remake teh same thing OVer and Over agian, rather then work out the flaws to make a much more unique and better design? Seems liek associated is cheap with their 1/18ths cales.

Sylvester 11.25.2005 01:58 PM

Thats true, nbcaz, but maybe like you said, they are too cheap to make a better design.

Keep in mind that (in my opinion) the idea of mini's are just to play around with. I dont think they were really made as a full blown race machines, like the b4 & t4 or tc4. So they have to keep it affordable.

Sylvester 11.25.2005 02:02 PM

Hmm, good point, maybe people race, in their backyards:p

nbcaznmaster 11.25.2005 02:06 PM

there is 1/18th scael racing. but still, a good company will make the best products, or at least try too. Associated hasnt shown any attempts to improve themnselves. Of course, associated is still a godo brand, but this part annoys me.

rchippie 11.25.2005 02:20 PM

Remember associated was bought by thunder tiger.

I played with my Mini LST more yesterday and this thing is a blast! I have a small track in my livingroom with a tabletop jump and a small double roller and the Mini LST is perfect on it! My RC18T was pretty good but much more difficult to make the jumps with, so that meant more running over and flipping it back over. The Mini LST spends way more time right side up so for me that's way more fun.

I also got the Dynamite Lipo battery for it and that made it twice as fast as stock. No joke, just putting Lipos in it made it that much faster! Still no wheelies though, but maybe the Insane motors and center spool would take care of that. :L:

And the best surprise of all so far is that I've hit the wall a few times and popped the ball joint off the steering arm, and nothing broke! I was really worried this thing might break easily based on previous Losi experience, but so far, knock on wood, this thing has been really durable!

Maintainence doesn't look super simple as much has to be disassembled to get at anything, but so far I'm very impressed and glad I got this one. Electronics layout for stock and 2s lipo is very nice, but I don't know if 3s lipo will fit easily. I'm gonna try my Mamba 5400 from the 18T in there this afternoon. Stock motors don't get too hot so hopefully the Mamba will be able to handle it. Otherwise I like the Warp 4 2 turn, (do a google search, don't want to link here) but it looks like 3s lipo is recommended. Hyperion YC22 6000 might be good for 2s though.

nbcaznmaster 11.26.2005 03:44 PM

Assocaited was bought by THUNDERTIGER?!?! lol, I havent heard of thundertiger utnil recently. Thought it was a unpopular company.

crazyjr 11.26.2005 04:28 PM

Not unpopular, just new to cars. they are real popular in airplanes and are known for very good engines.

coolhandcountry 11.26.2005 05:13 PM

won't that hard on the wall. Sounds like a new indoor track.

squeeforever 11.26.2005 05:33 PM

kyosho is comming out with a new mini also, its like the 1/16th scale mini inferno but its a truggy! heres a link. imho its the best there is. point in case, its got sealed diffs to use diff fluid! if it aint the best i dont know what is.

rchippie 11.26.2005 08:39 PM

Squee thats a good find i may have to wait till this comes out.

nbcaznmaster 11.26.2005 09:41 PM

looks nice! i wanna see what a nice bl can do on that beast

dabid 11.27.2005 03:32 AM

Our Hobby People has had the 18B for the last couple of weeks, $160 because they're newer than the other two versions (18t, 18MT), don't think the price will drop much more though. As it is, I think the MT is the best version for off roading because the tires are a bit bigger and give it more ground clearence, but the looks of the B are the best because of that low slung body......and the wing, I gotta figure a way to put that on my MT somehow. :D

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 11.27.2005 07:08 AM

Hey standard_63. What do you think the stock speed is on that LST of yours? And are we going to be able to go dual BL on that thing or what? :D I'm thinking of gettin one.

nbcaznmaster 11.27.2005 09:36 AM

dude, ima sell my rc18t, and buy one of those things!

squeeforever 11.27.2005 11:54 AM

Sylvester 11.27.2005 12:22 PM
