It's official! Castle have lost the plot (in a good way)
Maybe this is old news, but look what I just found:
http://www.castlecreations.com/products/cms36-9000.html 9000kv loaded...That's nuts!:surprised: I just hope the motor can keep its cool. I do love that "interview" though, lol! |
It's about time they came up with a 9000kv motor.
wow! 100,000 rpms! thats a marvel! thats very high speed! good luck keeping it cool though
wow. spinal tap anyone?
"these go to 11" sound familiar? |
Quote:
Classic  |
WOW...cool but I was hoping for the other direction 3000 ish.
Doesn't another man. have a 9200kv. motor?
Correction..Losi has a 9400kv motor for 1/18th... |
Who the hell is buying these high kV motors? They are great for one time use. Kind of like toilet paper.
I want to get the 9400kv 1/18 motor for my 18B.
Wow I'm going to try putting 2 of them in my revo - Dual 9000s on 4s...
ha ha they say 2s lipo MAX voltage. whos gonna be the first to run it on 3 or 4s? :-) what would that be 200000 rpm? everybody DUCK! incoming!
Wow, do those even come with a warranty? seems to me like they are set to melt
Squeak.....
A new spinning toaster of death! Yes.. it goes to 11 Hoov
I can see these being used a LOT in the 2-cell class for the International Speed Challenge this year, but for uses other than that, I'm not sure. I guess Castle just like being a tad crazy. If your cells can take the pain, then it's gonna be fun to try out at any rate IMO.
9000kv...dont understand why cc built this motor:whistle:a 6900kv or a 7700kv correctly geared is enough...
They built it because they could I reckon.
I agree that something around 3k kv would be more useful. |
so its to much kv for any off road application:yes::whip:
This is too funny .
Can anyone say Spinal Tap?
3s lipo and low gearing would make for an interesting speed car. My tt-01 has limited gearing options, so high revving motor would be nice. And I have a MM and a 5000 3s 25c neu lipo too... Hmmm may have to give that motor a try. Wonder what they have changed over the old cs 36 motors?
I am thinking this is a good motor for the MMM. My 7700 on an MM gets pretty toasty both motor and speed control. I have had to gear down quite a bit on my truck just to get it to work. Now a 3500 on 3S is so much cooler. It will be interesting to see what the application for it will be and what speed controller they recommend.

I have a hacker b50 5s motor that I plan to try with 3s lipo. I will use a mm with a fan (due to lack of air movement in the body), and most likely run a ubec and some addl caps... |
Maybe it was a proof of concept for high revving motors. I know they have changed the rotor design.

They played with a few concepts. I am not sure if they settled on a carbon wrapped or aluminum framed version, but once their large scale motors are out the small scale ones with updates should come in too. Evidently once they started getting over 85k there wasn't a glue in the world that would hold the magnets without structural assistance.

I will stick with the hacker b50 5s (7400kv) on 3s lipo to do my session of runs. Getting cooler out here and everything runs faster in cold weather. |

I'v been running my B50 5s with 3s1p in my pan car geared 54/12. Both mm and motor stay cool enough. |
:surprised::surprised::surprised::surprised::surpr ised:
I wish I were back in Alpharetta to take advantage of the cool weather. I have to deal with ~90F temps all year long :(
Get a 9000KV, PULL its Rotor out, insert into a 7700KV's can, Now you get a robost 7700.
I believe the 9000's ROTOR is where it values, should has some special material and technique like Kevlar wrap and temp-resistant magnet. |

lol, nice web page by Castle
Great for dragracing and speed records, but not much else. Meh.
if they can make a rotor stay together at that speed they should make a 2000kv 50volt motor
