Jeremy's crt pro build
hey just kind of fitting things together for now i have a new chassis and jammin bigbore 16mm shocks on the way and will be using a 1515 1y 2200kv motor on a zippy 5000 5s. want to know if i need a bec as the mamba has one built in but does not say if it will be ok on 5s
how do i post pics?
the MMM's built in bec will do just fine on 5s even 6s, but the MM is only good even with the external bec for 4s, some use it on 5s, but i would never do it personally

ok ty i was just wondering
looks cool man, that is the same truggy i run, i would do away with the 62 tooth spur, its really obnoxious, i run the losi 48t in mine, and use 7k oil in the front diff, 30k in the center 3k in the back

here is a vid of mine, i start out in third, then make my way to 2nd for a min, mine is the blue with white flames, and white wheels |
why is it a problem, if i use the 43 tooth will i have to get a new mount what is the advantage of the smaller spur i calculated good speed with a 13 tooth pinion on 5s with 2200kv motor. just curiose why as i have read both sides
very nice seems like a tight track
it is just really noisey and your wires are a little at risk, i did not have to get a new mount, i run a 10 tooth with my 1y, you would do the same, but with the 43 tooth you would be hittling the center brace, its all personal opinion really
the 62 tooth is fine you cant run the smaller one and keep it geared like you want. alot of guys drop the spur gear but dont realise that when they do they if they change the internal diff gears it wiill make a larger diffrence

hey cheesecake! got my mamba today was so excited should have battery chassis and shocks soon as they are all on order
im gonna stay with the large spur
Nice ride. There are a lot of x1 crts out there. Mine came with a six gear spider diff with a 52t spur. Not sure if I can change it so I am running it. Good luck with your build. Also I fit a traxxas water proof reciever box where your reciever is.I used a e maxx one but think the slash one is a little smaller. Drilled and tapped the servo plate.
sweet thats good to hear if you need any help dont hesitate to get ahold of me i can help you get it straightend out
gonna need a custom battery tray from mike and i already ordered the zippy 5000mah 5s pack witch is 160 x 51 x 40mm and i dont want to mount it on its side how big should i have him make the tray? also the .25 cut out on the bottom of the tray is that to go over the mud gaurds or just so u can mount it close to the lip. am also looking for the side mudgaurds but can not find them anywhere. can anyone help?
That chassis is so wide it does'nt use them. You could make some fit I guess if you really wanted them. Or do a x2 chassis conversion also. I would have but mine has the 7075 pro chassis. Maybe if I bend it.
ok was just wondering if they were made for it as i sw the mounting holes
This http://www.rcproductdesigns.com/imag...op%20Plate.jpg ex1cr top plate from here http://www.rcproductdesigns.com/EigthScaleParts.htm will alow you to mount the esc over and behind the center diff and get the esc out of dirt. See http://www.rcproductdesigns.com/Jammin%20index.htm I like mine. Keeps the esc high and dry. Raises the COG a bit but I like the esc out of the way. It is the plate on top. The motor mount is seperate.

CRTIM has a nice pic of it mounted. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16827
ty thats a sweet idea
plus i think im gonna need the room for the battery its 160x50 |
i have a tray for you hold on.....
http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?part_id=1952 its 51 mm wide, i have one on my crt and it is perfect width for the zippys, i drilled and tapped my chassis and used countersunk screws to hold it down |
i like how it looks what is the length of this tray?
i think it might be perfect, but i opened the one end of it, since the strap holds the baterry really, i also put some velcro in the bottom, ill get a pic of it mounted in my car
that would be great
cool looks like that will work just fine for me
yup that is the 4s 4000 zippy-h those are great packs~!
i thought you would like this, i just got these bodies done a bit ago, its the jconcepts illuzions
http://i38.tinypic.com/qzep09.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/1zqztpt.jpg ok enough of me jacking your thread lol sorry |
very nice i will be doing a custom body sometime as well just need to wear out the stock one first
yea i wnet through alot of the proline crowdpleazers, imo this body is a ton better, the cp hits the shocks and sides alot which you have to trim for, this one is alot wider
i really like it i will be buying one as well
i have ran both crow pleazer and jconcepts v2 body yhe v2 body makes the truggy less responsive in the air it acts more like a parachute... it does look real nice though
good to know
hmmm cheesecake i never noticed any difference, still does exactly what i want in the air lol, im also not to picky tho
decided on this for a battery tray and ordered a set of blue straps from mike as well as a motor cover, so now i just sit and wait for all my parts to come in. still need to buy front big bores and blue springs but i got some time my batt is still in hong kong, lol http://www361.pair.com/brideaud/newe...a/acc810_a.jpg
I've liked those since I saw them on stun's converted revo. Mine has a custom battery tray but seeing that in a crt makes me think. The end opened up nicely huh? Looks sweet. I also have a tekno battery tray but it is to short for my neuenergys.
