Krawlin's OFNA Mutilator Conversion

Going to do my first 1/8 conversion here! I am going to buy a Jammin X1-CRT used, and do a full conversion of it. Not new to the brushless scene, but new to conversions.

Anyway, my current big can brushless project is my 36-80 Medusa powered 3906 E-Maxx. So I figured a truggy conversion would be a fun new project.

Let the build begin!

I will update you guys with the setup that I plan on putting in, costs, and other build start off stuff later tonight.

And a big thanks to Ben (brushlessboy16) for your help in picking my battery, charger, and motor/esc setup.

Looking forward to seeing pics and the finished project. See I knew youd eventually give into the brushless scene.:party:

I gave in a long time ago when I went brushless with my E-Maxx. And I still have my nitro buggy, it's staying nitro, I just felt like having a brushless truggy so I am going to get one.

Funny....

You already have a nice CEN truggy, go get your own.

Krawlin 11.30.2008 11:37 PM

Alright, so here is the setup I plan on getting -

Zippy 5000 mAh 5S pack

MMM/CCNeu 2200Kv combo

IMAX B5 Charger/Balancer

IMAX PowerSupply

I know that the battery and charger and power supply are ChinaMart stuff but I have heard pretty good things about all of that stuff, so I figured why not try it out.

Does anyone happen to know if the RCM motor mount for a Jammin X1-CRT will work with the OFNA Mutilator truggy? I might just be able to get an OFNA Mutilator in trade for my nitro buggy tomorrow....

I think your going to have to throw mike an e-mail.

Alright, change in the built, it's officially going to be an OFNA Mutilator truggy. Getting it for only $200, practically new, has a couple upgrades, chassis hardly has any scratches, and the .32 has only just been broken in (and it's going in my buggy :diablo:) (and it's my dad's truggy so I should be able to buy it from him by the end of next week.)

Can't wait to get some pictures of it on here and start on the build!

I think you made a mistake. I hear that mutilators are crap.

The Mutilator Pro is basically a less "pre-upgraded" version of the Jammin X1-CRT. All parts are interchangeable for the most part. I have the first version of the Mutilator which has king-pin, but I plan on putting the Pro version's front suspension in, which is c-hub just like the X1-CRT. And pretty much all of the upgrades for the X1-CRT will fit the Mutilator. And it is my dad's truggy so I have gotten to drive it quite a bit, its not weak anywhere except for the king pin suspension and its really a great truggy for the price I am getting it at. And I will buy a bunch of X1-CRT hop ups for it, like the X1-CRT CF front plate and the X1-CRT CF diff top plate and it will be perfect.

SO DONT BE HATERS!!!

The only reason you said that was because Ben and Ian said that.:whip:

Thanks!

It will also be getting converted to OFNA Ultra MBX Comp front pillow ball suspension for durability. Just compared the width of the Mutilators suspension to the width of my OFNA Ultra MBX Comp buggy's front PBS, and its eaxctly the same from hex to hex, turnbuckle length is the same, even the shock mounting positions are identicle.

Looks good man. We need to see some stripped down pics and then a build for it to get even more interesting.:yipi:

BL_RV0 12.03.2008 12:45 AM

FWIW: That spur is 62t.
