To those considering G2R

What motor & controller combo do you think will best push the REVO around??

Steve

Sylvester 12.04.2005 10:38 AM

how many cells?>

Serum 12.04.2005 10:45 AM

Yeah, it is hard to say, just like that..

i would say 14-16 cells and an 9L-7XL-8XL or a 9XL..

Or a 1930/1940 or 1950.

steve050773 12.04.2005 10:52 AM

Sorry - 14 cells IB3800

Whats the difference between and L and an XL?

Serum 12.04.2005 10:53 AM

Size/torque/runtime.

The bigger motors CAN take more power, and they have got a bit more torque.

on 14 cells, a 7XL and a 9920 would be my choice of setup.

steve050773 12.04.2005 10:55 AM

Serum - what would run time look like under that combo? Also are there any other controller combos? 9920 never seems to be in stock :-)

RC-Monster Mike 12.04.2005 11:19 AM

Plenty of 9920s in stock at the moment, along with 12020 warriors.
Runtime would depend on how/where you run, along with gearing. 10 minutes should be pretty doable, though.

Serum 12.04.2005 12:35 PM

And if you are looking for more runtime, you could grab an 8XL or a 9XL..

Sylvester 12.04.2005 04:08 PM

In the rc-monster store, i see there is also a 10xl and 11xl, what would the power and runtime be with 16cells on those beasts?

coolhandcountry 12.04.2005 04:25 PM

I like to try a 10 or 11 xl on about 24 cells or so. I think it would be awesome. As far as 16 cells go I would guess a little more run time than a 9xl slyvester. May get a bout 30 min on a set of batts. :D

Sylvester 12.04.2005 04:41 PM

Wow, i think im re-considering on what motor my g2r is gonna be running;)

steve050773 12.04.2005 08:52 PM

Monster Mike - I'm either blind or ignorant. Where in the store can I find the 7XL-9XL? Also, are these Lehner or Feigao? I'm guessing Feigao, but the names in the store don't quite line up with whats being tossed around in the forum. Also, will you carry the coversion package for changing a standard gorrila chassis to a g2r? Gorillamaxx.com has it listed for $180.

Thanks,

Steve

coolhandcountry 12.04.2005 10:14 PM

they are in the lehner bk site on the forum

Gustav 12.05.2005 12:12 AM

They're the BK wanderer motors in the RC-Monster store(below the Novaks). They're just made by Fiegao but to BK's specs with better bearings.

You'll need 3 of these too with the BK XL motorshttp://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...9000325&cat=21

steve050773 12.05.2005 10:56 PM

I have no idea what those linked items are for. Help the clueless and throw me some info!

Thanks!

Steve

Those are the connectors you will need from the motor to the speed controller. The motor already comes with the other part.

coolhandcountry 12.06.2005 09:04 AM

I thought they had the 3.5 mm plugs not the 5.5mm plugs.

steve050773 12.06.2005 09:08 AM

So the BKs don't come with connectors, or are the connectors the wrong type/size?

coolhandcountry 12.06.2005 09:21 AM

If I am not mistaken bk has 3.5 mm female motor connector one them. You just need the male. Mike would be able to hook you up when ordered.

Batfish 12.06.2005 09:25 AM

The Wanderer motors from BK have 5.5mm connectors already attached. The motors that require connectors are listed as requiring them right in the product description.
Hope that helps :)

steve050773 12.06.2005 09:29 AM

Okay, the product listing says this for the BKs "Additional connectors will be needed to attach to controller". So I will need to buy 3 male connectors for the controller side? Thanks

Steve

coolhandcountry 12.06.2005 09:35 AM

I was wrong sorry steve. But yes you will need 3 male 5.5 mm connectors.

Thanks joe.

Serum 12.06.2005 01:05 PM

Cool, i too thought that they came with the 3.5 mm plugs.

There is a set of 3 males available then?

Batfish 12.06.2005 01:28 PM

There is no set of 3 males available right now, as I believe they can only be ordered from BK in M/F sets.
Mike will have a concrete answer for this question soon, I'm sure.

Gustav 12.07.2005 06:56 PM

BK only supply them as a pair (male/female) so i doubt it,unless Mike can wangle something. It's only a few dollars though. The tension seems a little better on these too compared to the 3.5mm.

RC-Monster Mike 12.09.2005 11:30 AM

5.5mm plugas are sold in paires(male/female) at the moment. I will try to get some male plugs by themselves, but for now, they are only sold in pairs(or, I could simply say that I am selling male plugs only, but the female plug is included for free!) :).
