30 pounds?

Give the man room!

You know you could probably buy a full scale surplus heli turbine for the price of a JetCat sized one......... something to consider is all hehe.

redshift 12.05.2008 11:28 PM

And I hope a small child is not part of that 30 pounds of "truck and stuff" lol.

Man if I had that kind of cash I'd buy myself a car... This vehicle is gonna be crazy.

JERRY2KONE 12.06.2008 01:25 AM

Uh Oh???

SHAUN stop what your doing and step away from the R/C workbench. Don't turn around, and don't look back. Just slowly back up and run like hell you crazy son-of-a-#(%$*&):na: What in the hell are you thinking:eyes:. You really need to slow down a bit and take a few deep breaths. or breasts which ever you prefer???

Seriouly Shaun have a little bit of fun playing with the toys you have already built:yes:. Enjoy some quality time with the wife and kiddies:intello:. Life is too short young man. We all look forward to seeing your next project though. I am sure with you it is only going to get better and better Sir. We all love watching you in your manic, drunkin state of mind creating master-pieces of terror. You do good work Shaun and I am sure that we will all be amazed when you unveil your next build. I bet the cool thing is that you are learning a lot about the engineering of these remote toys that you neve have before. It is addictive and you get a kind of natural high doing this kind of work, don't you? Yea have some fun with the family too and we will all be here waiting for your next build Sir.

HHHaaaaa Hhhaaaa, hhhaaaa that’s tooo funy Sir.. But the wife and talked about it and she’s allowed me to spend “X” amount of money next year if I promised this would be my only hobby for the year!, no new cars, no new dirt bikes, mountain bike, scuba gear gym memberships, etc. Sometimes I love that woman (sometimes!) by all mean not most of the times, but she does have her moments.. LOL.

I'm learning all the time and loving it!, I'm going to be venturing into untapped water and I'm really looking forward to my next years project, the research I’ve been doing latly is really exciting and  I’ve got some GREAT out of the BOX ideas I’ll be running by you guys next year. Hopefully my boy will jump in and help out, I always need to find time for them as all dad’s do..

Thanks for all great over the top compliments Jerry your always far too kind sir!.. (Thank you)

I'm hopping to hear back from one the guys this weekend I placed on offer on we’ll see, it's Christmas and they may need the money more than me.. (lets hope so!).. :intello:

Have a great weekend sir

jato
jet assisted take off
arnt they really rockets tho?

What's_nitro? 12.06.2008 02:17 AM

Yeah I know. I always think that when I see the acronym... Technically it is a jet, since a jet engine is any engine that relies on the expulsion of hot gasses for forward thrust.

TDC57 12.06.2008 02:22 AM

Well I was shoot down by one of them.. Boo.Booo...

lets see what the other guy says..

What's_nitro? 12.06.2008 02:24 AM

Offer them a trade for the Battle Truck! NOBODY would refuse that! :grrrrrr:

TDC57 12.06.2008 02:52 AM

 NOoooo the battle truck and my GR3 I have NO plans on ever getting rid of those two builds.. I can sell the rest off but I'm keeping, always keeping those two builds..

I'll find a something that will work.. I just can’t spend more than 2k on the motor and right now I'm asking low IE $500 off what they are asking for it! It’s Christmas someone has to bite  Who doesnt want $1500 bucks..

BrianG 12.06.2008 06:14 AM

Is this something like you're trying to do?

There was a guy that had an emaxx-type of vehicle with a turbine but I can't find the vid right now. IIRC, it moved, but created a lot of wind for not much motion...

Thanks… *&$^#%# grumble, grumble

Now I'm going to have to do like the pioneers :oh: / IE (young guns) and visit the sprit world for gaudiness (again)..

TruckBasher 12.06.2008 09:09 AM

azjc 12.06.2008 10:01 AM

if nothing else it sounds cool

lutach 12.06.2008 10:03 AM

You could make one. I heard it's easy for the mechanically gifted and you certainly seems to be . Plans for one are all over the internet and you can even see home made turbines in youtube. I love watching them.

Yup, that's me; I take that tender love-child of a dream and ruthlessly hurl to the cold, hard ground shattering it into countless pieces while cackling maniacally. :diablo:

And, the truck I was thinking of was not that FG, IIRC it was more shiny with al and more emaxx-like.

Hardstyle 12.06.2008 06:02 PM

Ok, I thought so too hehe. Just wanted to share it

azjc 12.07.2008 03:06 AM

these might not be turbines but here is a link from the online store to Tamjet which is a serious rc jet site, about 2/3 of the way down the page they have 2 different plug and play systems...it is one unit which includes the fan, motor and esc...they use a CC HV85 ESC and one uses a Neu 1515 and another a 1521 motor...one is the ds-51 and the other the ds-75

:surprised: Ok this is almost exactly what I had envisioned when I visited the sprit world! that just freaky!, but of course mine was on a 1/5 scale with a few extras, but that was soo close it was scary!

Thanks for posting up all the videos guys :yipi: it was awesome seeing all the turbine powdered builds..

At this time I'm now unsure for my 09 build, I hate to do something that has been before, so I'm now exploring other options.. Maybe a 4 motor (ducted fan) hover build :oh: or a combination robotics and something!, :intello:

I just know it will be Project X material..

Thanks for everybody times and suggestions you’ve been great!..

P.S.
Brian G,
I forgive you!..

JERRY2KONE 12.09.2008 05:23 AM

Wacky.

Yea we know that you will probably come up with something totally wacked out anyway Shaun. By the way, whats the sprit world???:lol::rofl::lol:

Rnemhrd 12.09.2008 10:49 AM
