I went to that link to check out the scpecs and was infected by: JS/SillyDlScript.FO

My antivirus cured the infection but I'd figure I'd let others know

suicideneil 12.20.2008 09:33 PM

How odd, I too was looking at that earlier today. Looks quite nice actually and has sensorless & sensored motor support etc etc, but until someone feels brave and buys one (where ever they end up for sale to as Hobbywing dont sell direct), we just wont know...

Andrew32 12.20.2008 10:49 PM

hmm...it came up the first time, but the second time it told me some malware tried attacking y computer through some BS .exe crap....cuz macs have .exe files....:na:

dkexige 12.22.2008 03:56 AM

I get that when I go to hobby wing as well, avast aborts that connection for me though.

BrianG 12.22.2008 04:19 AM

The spec have been available for a while now. I guess HW finally fixed the issue with the 150A unit. Now we just have too see how the Speed Passion made for the US market will be priced lol. Caster did it right by going straight to HW, but Caster has the Asian Ebay vendors to deal with.

im closed to the buy it now:whistle::yes:so i saw your post and im scared.....what kind of issue???

BrianG 12.22.2008 10:34 PM

I wonder how these ESCs are rated: per FET spec, or realistic values given the temps we run them at.

The last time I spoke with HW they said it had some harware issue, but I guess it's fixed. Give it a try and let us know how it does.

Same here. The eZRun line is supposed to be the economical line from HW. I'm working one a high end 1/8 scale ESC with the factory that is currently doing my 10th, micro and now crawler ESCs.

himalaya 12.23.2008 12:34 AM

HW has just launched and started shipping the new 1/8 ESC here in China. Many of my RC friends have got it and have very positive feedback, especially when compared to their disappointment from earlier MMM V1&V2s.

The interesting point is the ESC supports sensored motor, while no 1/8 motor capable to handle 6S is available by this moment.

BrianG 12.23.2008 12:49 AM

The MMM supports a sensored motor.... sorta - just don't hook up the sensor wires.

You are definitly right, so I would change my word as :
The ESC supports the sensors inside some certain motors.:na:

timaneli 12.23.2008 06:13 AM

does the 80a version be enough for a e-revo on 4s lipo?

HW asked for my help to find a motor manufacturer that would make a motor for them, but I'm going to save my good contacts for myself.

i don´t know!! but for a "chinese" esc look´s real good... i only don´t like to see the circuit board being outside the 2 sides of the case!!! hope it don´t break on a rough jumps or backflip...

BrianG 12.23.2008 01:47 PM

Well, the Mamba Max has an exposed circuit board, and it seems to hold up fine. I would just make sure that nothing metal could contact the exposed area, and you should be fine.

so that is the problem of the mamba´s even on v3?

BrianG 12.23.2008 04:57 PM

You're probably thinking of the MMM, which is totally enclosed. The MM has the exposed PCB...

ok, my mistake!! the green mamba ok!!
let´s see how it handles this baby on my e-revo!!!
i will go to a motocross track and if it handles the jumps and falls it will handle the rest.................

suicideneil 12.23.2008 05:05 PM

The chinese esc looks like a sandwich with the ham poking out either side.. Should be okay, you'd need to really wrench down on the pcbs to snap them off, but it does kinda kill the otherwise clean and beasty look of the esc I must admit.
