Paypal Help

Hey guys Im trying to transfer money from a visa and an American express gift card to my paypal.. I googled for a how to, but came up with nothing... can someone who knows what there doing help me?

why try transfering? Add the card numbers as regular credit cards and use them as your funding source

^ +1. Would seem to be the easiest solution even if what you want to do is possible.

Trouble is, with those "pre-paid credit cards" (stupidest idea ever, BTW), they will be declined if what you're buying exceeds the balance on the card. PP doesn't let you use multiple funding sources for one transaction (from what I know) so if the card won't cover it, PP will use your "backup" source, and if that doesn't cover it then the whole transaction will be declined.

Paypal asks for a billing adress, these cards don have any adress on them...

Just use the same one as your other CC's. Otherwise you'll be in trouble.

azjc 01.01.2009 10:28 PM

can you use the gift card to buy something cheap like a pack of gum and get the change and put that in your bank account?

Takedown 01.01.2009 10:29 PM

Cant you just trade the card into your parents for staight cash?

What's_nitro? 01.01.2009 10:32 PM

No he can't. I'll say it again- These cards are STUPID!!! :grrrrrr: They aren't gift cards, people call them gift cards because you give them as gifts. If you buy something and return it, it goes back to the card- like a regular CC. They can't be applied to large purchases because they will be "over the limit". Stupid...... I work for Sears and we get them all the time. I think we should bill the CC companies for all the Sears gift cards we waste when we have to transfer the balance to one so it can be used for a purchase.

It wasnt created with my address.. I used the $25 just now to subscribe to some Mag's but it was instant verification- didnt require a billing address. Now the 50 dollar card is an American express Gift card... its being a pain..

I have been attempting to buy a couple things off ebay with them. but it requires a billing address etc. so i guess im just gonna call in the hobby shops and pay by fone...

why soo difficult?

That sucks man! Don't you hate it when you have money that you can't spend??!!

Maybe call the PPCC company? (pre-paid credit card)

_paralyzed_ 01.01.2009 11:30 PM

have you tried your home address as the billing address? maybe they won't verify. I've used multiple cards with multiple address, none of which matched any profile info and they all worked.

rawfuls 01.02.2009 12:15 AM

Visa they want to verify, but not AMEX.
AMEX works great as a funding source.
You can use three AMEX's to buy one thing. I've done it...

Interesting. It seems there is still a glimmer of hope!

I got one of those same cards. I also wanted to put some of it on paypal so I could buy another used car from another actual person. I couldn't get it to work either. I also tried buying something from another online store. I doubt this card has any use online.

I just used the card at my local hobby shop the other day, and it worked fine. Maybe people should start going to their lhs and pay no shipping fees along with no shipping wait. Most of the time if it isn't in stock, they can get it in stock in a few days. I know some people have a long drive and stuff, and that is a legit excuse, but really... some people are just lazy.

NOW if I can connect the two. My lhs is a locally owned place and the guy has an online store that accepts paypal. If I can go there tomorrow and see if he can put some money from the card online I bet he can do it for me.:yipi:

you have to register the card with the cc company call the number on the back of the card and tell them you want to register the card once thats done the card has a adress and zip code to go back to so you can use it for online purchases

brushlessboy16 01.02.2009 11:33 AM

Got the card registered with my info But still cannot purchase off ebay!!! ARGGGG

brushlessboy16 01.02.2009 11:45 AM

DOUBLE WIN!

After I got the name and adress set- i managed to sync it with my paypal! YAY!

Thanks for the help guys
:)

Metallover 01.02.2009 01:13 PM

brushlessboy16 01.02.2009 02:44 PM

Metallover 01.02.2009 02:50 PM

brushlessboy16 01.02.2009 03:22 PM

What's_nitro? 01.02.2009 11:59 PM
