Proposal To Next Years RCM Bash Spot...

I was wondering if it would be at all possible for the next rcm yearly bash to be located in let say "the middle of the USA" somewere so that all of the people would have to travel equal distances and it wouldnt be biased towards people who live closer. I mean Im not trying to complaign here but to travel to new york from here in wisconsin puts me out as a young adult for quite a bit.:whip:

I mean if it was located somewere in iowa, illinois, missouri, oklahoma, kansas that would be great. I along with many others would most likely be able to make it because it would be more fairly located.

Just thought I'd throw this idea out thier.

The main point of it being in NY is that is the home track for RC-Monster. Mike is located within 30minutes( just an estimate) of barnstormers RC

rootar 01.02.2009 06:54 PM

im planning on making the trip this time around, no matter where it is if possible, ill have to weigh the cost but i might fly a private plane up there depends on when i get my crosscountry flight done and how many more hours i get logged before then.....

Finnster 01.02.2009 08:27 PM

You could do a "Midwest" bash like the CA did on the west coast, but NY is home to RCM and Mike has been racing @barnstormers for a long time. Plus I would be pissed if it moved away ;)

Electric Dave 01.02.2009 08:41 PM

Being an East Coaster, I want it to stay at the Barn or maybe some other regional track.

But that is not to say that other RCM fans can't have their own bash near their homes too.

The only "official" thing about it is that Mike is there. In every other way it's just a regular trophy race. Very easy to coordinate and run your self. I do some for my local track. Best thing you can do is plan early and get people interested.

Metallover 01.02.2009 09:10 PM

Yeah! Midwest! How about Minnesota or Iowa?

Would be nice.

If Mikes make the trip out to Chicago for iHobby next year again(which I'm sure he will, he does every year) we could do the "Midwest RCM Bash" that weekend say Sunday. He came out and raced with us last year that weekend so I'm sure he would do the same again. The midwest folks could come to Chicago area and we could all race together. My local club I'm sure would be happy to host as long as nobody has an issue with running with the nitros.

Takedown 01.03.2009 02:33 PM

Jhautz- you were at I-Hobby this year? Ive went for the past 3 years. We should meet up this coming year.

jhautz 01.03.2009 04:55 PM

Actually last year was the first year in quite a while that I didnt get to the iHobby show. Just to much other stuff goin on that weekend. Its usually pretty easy for me to get there since its only a half hour from my house. But I did hook up with Mike and go racing on the Sunday of that weekend. We had a good time.

But yea this fall for sure if you make it down again. Bring your stuff and come racing that weekend. I'm sure Mike will be up for it again. One of the local tracks here will be hosting the 1/8 buggy and truggy national championship race this summer so the track is sure to be top notch this year.

Takedown 01.03.2009 04:57 PM

Good, we should meet up. Ill be going again this year.

Metallover 01.03.2009 05:06 PM

I would like to go but I have no clue how I'd get there. I could drive but it's a long drive from Sioux falls by myself.

jhautz 01.03.2009 05:08 PM

Sounds good. When it gets closer we should post some stuff up and get details figured out. Its a bit early to start planning anything, but tentatively getting anyone who wants to drive in together and doing some racing that weekend sounds like fun.

Hahahahaha.... You will never make it. Me driving to chicago was bad enough and thats 120 miles away.

jhautz 01.03.2009 05:21 PM

I drove to the NewYork RCM bash by myself year before last and was going to make the drive again last year with Edumakated but the weather in NY scared us off from making the drive this year. Nothing like 11.5 hours each way for a single race day. lol

Thats not what Im trying to say though. Hes only 16 so it will be complete hell for him with traffic and hours of driving will take a huge toll on you.

Metallover 01.03.2009 05:41 PM

I have NO experience with traffic. I think Sioux falls (220,000) is bad. Around the mall when the cars are backed up a whole block (in 1 lane) is about the worst I've seen...

I mapped the trip and it would take around 9 hours along with about 3 hours of getting lost and dealing with traffic. I might be able to make the trip with someone else though... I know there's a few people who live in minnesota/Iowa.

These are the SD interstates I'm used to. This is coming into sioux falls from the north.

i may get a roof cargo box and see about getting 3 others to go , my car can fit 4 pretty comfortably

Metallover 01.03.2009 09:28 PM

I'd be up for a Minnesota race. Where at?

entjoles 01.03.2009 09:33 PM

as of now there is only one from the mn nitro series tracks that has club races, he will let us run , as far as the series races we will have to wait and see

here is the track that will let b/l conv. runs at club races , the pics are old he built a new track on the property , it is top notch

http://www.mnnitroseries.com/modules...howpage&pid=19
