Have you heard???
For those who may be interested Here it is. The latest scoop on UE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At your request we have done another run of the Monoblocks. Made to our exacting standards as every Genuine Unlimited Engineering product is. You'll get no counterfeits or fakes from shady sellers with artificially inflated 'collectors item' prices here. These brand new Genuine UE parts. Material cost increases have driven the price up to $80/each. I’m sorry about that but this is beyond my control. If you purchase under the preorder we’ll offer a 20% discount so you can get them for $64. This offer expires as soon as they arrive and we begin shipping them. We have also made an extended dogbone for those of you who want to run the monoblock with the Thunder or Lightning Chassis. These are $20 and I will also make them available under pre-order 20% discount. We expect them to be complete sometime in February, probably mid to late February so I'm opening them up for a Pre-Order now. As most of you know a credit card authorization has a 30 day shelf life. While the act of placing an order triggers the authorization we don't normally complete the charge until we ship the item so it sits as a pending charge and no funds change hands until we process the order. Because this may be more than 30 days and re-authorizing is a pain, we will begin completing the order before the authorization expires even though we don't have the item yet. When we do, we'll generate a label too and have all the paperwork ready for parts. What all this means is that if you place an order today and we don't get them complete within 30 days we will charge your card and generate a shipping label. Then as soon as parts are done we'll ship them. By placing a pre-order you agreed to this. I don't think this will be an issue because I expect them to be done on time, but I like to cover the bases. Hope you enjoy them. links Monoblocks extended dogbone __________________ “That which doesn’t kill me, makes me stronger.” - Nietzsche It looks as if Robin is getting back in the game. I got my pre order in for two monoblocks. There was no mention of how many are in production. |
told you something was in the wind---
hope this is just the beginning of more parts to come:wink::wink::wink: |

Rename.
Hey there monarchmt you might want to edit this thread and change the title to something like "UE makes a comeback" to draw more attention to it. It looks kind of dull and no one is jumping in to comment because they do not know what it is about unless they actually open the thread. Just my thoughts....
|
do you know monster maxx personally??
i really want the racer x set up--- i have everything else but that---i snoozed on it when they were available thinking ue parts would always be around--- i just got the mono extension on pre order--- and asked about racer x but like you said he's not always quick to reply-- hopefully he'll make more--- i posted on buy sell trade looking for it but i want it brand new in the package so it's gonna be tough to find--- what are you running for a rc??? |
not sure how to edit the name---

Ue info.
Hey there monarchmt it looks like you are pretty new to the R/C community. I was looking at your RCM info and noticed that you only have a few posts. Welcome to the gang here. I do not know Robin personally nor have I ever met him, but I have had a few discussions with Robin about making more of their stuff for us. In fact I have been talking with him for two years now, but he is very garded about doing anything these days. The problem with Robin is that he is paranoid that everyone wants to steal his ideas and make fake UE parts. So he refuses to discuss anything to do with his company and/or plans on what UE will manufacture now or in the future.
Things have been very shakey at best for UE and he is very tight lipped about anything to do with UE parts. His complaints are to the effect that making these parts have become very expensive, and not profitable for him anymore unless he raises his prices to a level that he is affraid will make his porducts out of reach for most of us money wise. Life would be much better for us if he would just fill up his shelves and get over his paranoia, but we also have to respect his position as a business owner. Once he began making his notorious gas tank for the Harley V-Rod bike he kind of abandoned the R/C community as a whole. He is still there, but much more like a recluse these days. It is a shame the way he has treated all of us, but I am sure that there are things going on behind the scenes that we are just not privy to. It is my feeling that he is at that stage in life where being groutchy is the norm. If you try to talk with him about acquirng parts that are not in the UE stock listings he gets kind of weird. Still it never hurts to try, and if you really wnat something contact him by phone directly as well as sending him email. You can go onto the UE stie and email with him directly or his assistant Sam for help. If what you want is not in stock he will just tell you no, but there are some things that they will come up with from time to time, because they still have some stuff lying around the shop. Something as complex as the Racer-X kit is just too much for him to just whip up off the cuff. He has to make things like that as a limited/numbered run, and he has to feel confident that they will sell before he is willing to invest any of his own money into production for fear of losing money. So it can be kind of tricky. I to have been wanting a Racer-X setup since I learned of UE three years ago, but at that price level it was out of reach for me. Until now. I was actually contacted two weeks ago by a couple of guys who are on both RCM and the UE forums. I have already received on set, but he had lost the knuckles that go with the kit, so he is refunding half of my money for the mistake. SO the kit is pretty much useless without them. I now have another guy holding a full unused set just for me. I plan on purchasing that set next month after I receive my retirement check for Feb/09. I also have a communication going with Dace owner to acquire some of his stuff. He has a post up on UE right now because he is cleaning out all of his hobby stuff and getting rid of 90% of his stuff cheap. SO I am trying to get in on some of that gear as well. You just have to keep your eyes open and jump on opportunites when they apear. This hobby sure is an exspensive adventure. Have a good day Sir. |
By the way.
By the way I forgot to answer your question about what R/C's I have. I started out with a stock E-Maxx three years ago, but quickly learned of the aftermarket parts available and moved on from there. I am not just a mechanic, but also a carpenter, so I believe in building things to out last me on this Earth. So I am really into the aluminum Maxx trucks. I built my first project from scratch with Integey hopups, and a HardCore aluminum tub chassis. I have a 4.5 HV Maxx in that one and it runs pretty well.
Then I built a second Maxx using various parts purchased on EBay. Then things really got complicated. I picked up an R/C lot sale from some guy who decided to get out of the hobby due to personal issues and he just needed the money. I won the final bit for over $2.5K worth of UE stuff for the sale price of just $750. It was a lucky find for me because I happenedto have the money on hand, and his loss was my gain. I am still working on that project now turning it into my high speed project. It is a UE "Lightning" chassis setup with all of the UE trimmings. I will post a thread on it later this year as I finish it and get ready to begin testing with it. I am hopeful for speeds of over 100mph with that one. It already has a double monoblock installed, with custom RCAlloys drive shafts. This thing is awesome. Then there is my RCM Maxx truck. I have all of the great RCM hybrid stuff in that one, and I am working on installing a V-twin Dewalt 18volt 970 motor setup in this one. So I have 4 SuperMaxx projects under construction right now, and I have the two plastic stock trucks which the boys are going to begin building very soon. So we are busy here at The Hill House, and 2009 is looking to be a good year for our R/C dreams. You will be seeing my projects on here soon as I plan to post up threads on each of them as then get completed. I hope that answers your question Sir. |
Maybe I missed it but where do you go to pre-order. Thanks.

thanx for the welcome to this forum---
i've been over at the ue forum for many years now--- my supermaxx has everything ue including the vbs set up ---- only thing i need is the racer X suspension--- here's some pics |
Hey monarchmt.
Nice build MonarchMT, but there is a problem with it. Where is the Brushless motor? We don't need no stinkin nitro. Just some BL humor man. We love the God of R/C UE... Yea I have been on UE for a while, but ever since Robin stopped making UE gear things have been a bit dull on the forum. So I have been in here because there is much more going on, and besides, I really prefer the BL scene anyway.
|
Yeah, I'm pumped! I sent them an E-mail asking why they wouldn't go back into business. And asked specifically about a Monoblock. So this is cool!
|
Not really.
UE never really went out of business. Robin just got sidetracked making custom gas tanks for the Harley Davidson V-twin and was getting what he wanted out of the R/C business any more. His explanation for this was that he did not feel that the prices he would have to charge for his one of a kind parts in order to make a profit were not justifiable to him any more. SO he abandoned the whole idea, and was just selling off what he had in stock, making a few items along the way just to keep him happy. No one is really sure what his intentions are now, but at least he is making some monoblocks for us now. Maybe there will be more stuff back in production soon. We hope that once he sees that there is still a demand for UE Maxx stuff that he will fire up the milling machines and put out some more of the really good stuff like Towered VBS, 6mm & 8mm drive axles, 6 & 8 spyder diff gear sets, the Lightning chassis, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Only time will tell.
|
Ironic to me that the mono blocks are being made again. I hunted for months for one for my maxx w/no luck and have decided w/the purchase of a Revo to part out my maxx....go figure.
|
For sure.

jayjay283, thanks for the pics...what ya gonna use for a dog bone ?

Read.

Looks like things fit just fine JayJay. Have you run it like that yet? Nice work putting it together. I think the monoblock with adapt to just about any Maxx chassis without too much trouble. |

IIRC = if I recall correctly

Nice. I signed up at ue but can't view anything. I would have pre ordered a mono block. Off topic, do the 7.5 diffs http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...re/13540B.html come as a pair for 299.00 or is that for one diff?
|
Yes I purchased the 146mm (iirc) dog bone from RC Alloys (didnt want to pester Mike). I signed up for UE too a month ago, a few days ago he sent me the activation code, another month I should be able to log on lol. The 7.5 diffs come as a pair, I emailed Suicide Neil before I bought them asking the same question, as they only show one in the pic, and his website could use some updating. $300 for a diff only to find out you need another $300 diff would have pissed me off something fierce. I love those diffs, I would sleep with them in my bed if they didnt resemble a chrome ball sack so much.

Tmi
Your wacked JayJay:yes:. To much information.:rofl:
|
Nice, would'nt want to wake up with them on you forhead. I got some GARC diff cases and aluminum cups with 3mm screws and the ring and pinion did'nt strip the spider gears lost there teeth this time. I even run my slipper correctly. I have GA bulks and strobe brace so I figure the 7.5 diffs are the way to go vs. the FLM hybride.I like to run the stock sliders to drive the wheels so I will need 4 of these I believe. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...d=RCMdiffshaft
|
the UE diffs are the bomb!!!i run the spider8's in my dual Plettenberg Lightning and they have held up just fine ,SO FAR!
i am going to install one in my rc8t center diff when i get some time:whistle: i also have a couple Fioroni diffs i might try?? |
Just ordered the 8 spider diffs. Just have to figure out the gearing for the 3905 tranny. I want it around 45 to 50. Just enough to make the nitro guys go :gasp::surprised:
|
The UE spider diffs are nothing but the cheaper Ofna/Hobao diffs which comes in eithe 6 or 8 spiders. UE just added their own diff outputs. You can buy them from dinballrc.
|
1/8TH DIFFS MAY BE THE DEAL, oH YAY YOU SAVED $45 DOLLERS, Robin through in every single shim I may need... Cry on cousins.... $50 I smoke you...open bet
|
What????

Jerry, I signed up at UE when you first posted the monoblocks were up for pre-order but can't view anything. What would be the best way to get info? Thanks. Jayjay, If ever in central NY we can find out.:na:
|
Not sure.

http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...9&page=1&pp=40 If you still can not view it, then I would suggest sending an email to Robin at (forumadmin@UEusa.net). He may not answer you right away, but if you do not hear from in a few days sind him another one. Somtimes emails get lost in the junk mail bins. Here are some pics of one of my projects with a double monoblock setup. http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/q...E/cad94756.jpg http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/q...E/648b9bbb.jpg http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/q...E/ed0401a9.jpg Good luck with your quest Sir. |
You sure you need a wheely bar on that thing? Very nice!!

Not sure.
Yea I am not sure of anything just yet with this build. I have been prototyping this project for over a year now while working on three other trucks at the same time (multitasking). This one is surely a special build that takes time and a lot of changes along the way to make sure it reaches all of the goals that I intend for it. The wheelie bar will actually and more than likely go onto one of our sons trucks, since we know it is needed there.
as for your UE communication issues, I have had that same messege a few times when I first started on UE. Somehow I sent an email to Robin and he cleared it up for me. He has to personally go in and activate each account once you have logged into the system or maybe one of the Moderators can help. He may be just a bit busy with all of the new parts production going on. Outside of this you may be banned for some reason that we are not aware of. Bottom line is that you have to discuss this directly with Robin, who is the owner of the site. |
No biggy. He has the monoblocks listed as in stock now. Do you know off hand how long the extended dogbones for the thunder chassis and monoblock are? I know jayjay used a 147mm on his stock E Maxx. I am using a FLM 3905 chassis that should be the same. Thanks
