Looks like fun Matt. I can only imagine the power that thing has on 10s. You must be very gentle on the throttle!!!
|
Damn, that was some hardcore putting green bashing.
|
What controller are you using to run it on 10S? I would have thought that 10S would be too much for the BigMaxximum (2200KV)? What temps are you getting?
|
I'm surprised you would run on a golf green.
If I put my brushless buggy down on a golf green there would be some very mad golfers running after me. :na: You'd think there would be rooster tails of dirt and sod flying in all directions. Take that thing out somewhere where you can really get on it. :whip: Don't take my comments the wrong way. I love your truck. :mdr: |
I'd like to know the esc too- $10 says he ment 5s2p, with the lipos wired in parallel instead of series.
No lack of power for sure, handling needs attention though (slam it and stiffen it). |
they have great Mexicans at this high end golf course next to my casa...they sand and reel all the time...i throw them off my scent by going to differant hole each time(like linc)...i will NOT be using the maxx mulchers again...street tires only!!
i like to run there because it doesn't trash my BLING too badly!! i use the SCHULZE 18.97 with the two batts in parallel to get 10s(cheeting)....the esc has auto temp cut off at i think 200*,it usually runs 160*-180* on a hot day! I HAVE THE VIDEO SHIOT RIGURED OUT AND WILL HAVE BETTER VIDEOS TO COME....i have a large sodded yard with a huge 10wide and 10 foot tall jump i made with my bobcat...i am sodding it a lttle at a tme,so far 80% grassed!...sod aproach, sod jump and sod landing ares:whistle: |
Thats a bad ass truck. Ive driven my RCs on a golf course, usually on holidays when the course isn't open. As long as you stay on the fairway and rough and off the greens I don't think you will mess anything up. I don't know about using those tires on 10's on a golf course though. They are named Mulchers for a reason lol
|
It's a fine model no doubt.
Playing devils advocate though, I have to ask, why 10S? You're clearly tickling the throttle the whole time which seems kind of a waste. 10S and extreme power is good for the occasional speed run etc but totally impractical for bashing. Your suspension is set very high as well making turn negotiation a gamble at any speed. With the 2200 setup I would have thought 6S was perfect............... ? |
with two 5s 5000mah Zippy's it will run 45 minutes on a charge!!....try that with a NITRO anything...sit down bash 4g for 45 minutes!!!GOOD TIMES!!
this beast has POWER the drive train to handle it so f-it! |
Hehe, great vid! When can we see this beast with dual plettenbergs?
|

You mean 5s in parallel - because 5S in series would be 10s = 37V - The Schulze 18.97 is rated for a maximum of 18 cells at 1.2v - usually max 22.2V on Lipo - if you wire 37V (10S) you are going to blow this controller up. Mohan |

Hmm, maybe the putting green does make sense then! Quote:
Can't wait to see that baby fly! Looking forward to those vids! |
Can I have my $10 now?
I think an old runway would be the best place to test this rig out really- open her up and see how fast she can really go. |
i know of a very long fairway at the golf course with ultra short grass...i will throw on my street tires and a 70 tooth spur and try to get some speed runs
i will also slam the suspension....the UE stuff has tons of room for adjustments!!!towers, lower arms and differant springs thanks for the 5s2p info...i always wondered what that 2p stuff was...2 packs in parallel:rules: some one give neil a $10 dime sack!!puff, puff pass!! |
Nice video, but I want to see dual bigmaxxes!
|
dual BigMAXXimum's

was the pizza good? lol! nice!
|
Although your truck handles like a suzuki samurai with 40 inch tyres and your cameraman only got the truck about 1/8 of the time, still a good vid.
|
the Mellow Mushroom pizza was great!!!
the camera man(boy) got a good spanking later that night...he promised BL RVO he will do much better next time:lol: I (the dad) installed new 70 tooth gear which should give me much more top speed than the 66...i will also slam the truck to the ground for some high speed runs and maybe i can turn without flipping out of controll I did flip a Samarai once though...It only took me and one other guy to stand it back up on all 4's |
Matt, increasing the spur gear tooth count while using the same pinion will increased your low end torque but decrease your top speed. You need to use a smaller spur or bigger pinion to increase your top speed.
|
70t spur will make it slower. Way it works is:
Bigger pinion = more speed Smaller spur = more speed. |
George beat me.
|
thanks Lito and and BL...this is my first BL truck build...i just converted from NITRO!!
i sure do not need more torque! do you guys get your 5mm 32p pinions from RCM? stock emaxx is 32p right and Plette is 5mm right? |
Yes, I buy my pinions from Mike but I use 5mm Mod 1 instead of 32P.
|
Ahhh come on!! It's not long enough?!?!:rofl::na:
From the first video... |
i will make the dual BL video longer next time!!
metal that made you and my son laugh!! everyone else is speechless!...you dont see "full moon rising" every day on this site!! |
