1800Kv Beta testing offer for RC-Monster members

Looking for a few good bashers!

I have on my desk, 6 units of the 1518 1800Kv motors for beta testing.

That said, this is kind of an RC-Monster special -- I want, for example, people who are technically savvy and can give good feedback on mechanical design as well as performance.

We need a beta tester who can test right away -- who already has an ESC and car setup, who can just drop in the new motor and start testing right away. The Beta tester will be required to either have a credit card on file with Castle Creations, or be willing to place a credit card on file with Castle Creations.

Beta testers will be required to give full and complete feedback on mechanical design, installation, performance, temperatures after run, 4S vrs 6S performance, etc.

At the end of the beta testing, if good, complete, and professional feedback is given, either the beta tester can keep the beta 1518 motor, or can have the option to have the 1518 motor replaced with either a production 1518 motor, or any other 15 series motor offered by Castle Creations.

If no feedback, or inadequate feedback is received, the beta tester will have the option of returning the motor, or being charged $149.95 for the beta motor.

If you are interested in doing Beta testing in this special offer, please send me an email outlining WHY you would be a good tester, your background in Radio Control, and all contact info (phone number, address, etc.) to:

pdelcast <<a><t>> castlecreations <<d><o><t>> com

<convolution above to prevent web crawlers from adding this email address to spam lists -- and please note this is a temporary email setup specifically for Beta testers. Other correspondence to that address may be spam filtered, trashed or ignored completely. >

1518, How heavy is that?

skellyo 01.27.2009 04:48 PM

E-Mail sent Patrick. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to Beta test one of these motors for you.

Unsullied_Spy 01.27.2009 04:49 PM

lutach 01.27.2009 05:08 PM

Let me know how the testing goes guys.

lincpimp 01.27.2009 05:13 PM

Sent you an email Patrick.

Arct1k 01.27.2009 05:17 PM

yes please - email sent :)

MTBikerTim 01.27.2009 05:58 PM

That would be awesome but I don't meet any of those criteria so I'm going to sit back and watch. This should be an impressive motor. I can't wait to see it in some big cars.

BrianG 01.27.2009 06:02 PM

lol, heck, I'd be willing to buy one right now without testing! 1800kv is just what I'm looking for, and a 1518 size motor would be perfect.

sikeston34m 01.27.2009 06:03 PM

There are many GREAT guys here to choose from Patrick. I would like to be considered for this also. :yipi:

Email sent.

I vote for everyone who has said on here that they sent you a PM, except neil. Neil is a brit and we all know how they are....... :intello:

Dagger Thrasher 01.27.2009 07:59 PM

I *wish* I could participate in this, but I just don't have any RCs that would be suitable to use a 1518 in right now. Still, what a great opportunity for you guys! Patrick, you're picking from the cream of the crop with these blokes.

Oi! It's a well-known fact that us Brits are the finest beta testers in the world...

bustitup 01.27.2009 09:22 PM

SpEEdyBL 01.27.2009 10:11 PM

He didn't say anything about the specifics of the vehicle...

..while a 1518 would at least "fit" in my buggies.

BL_RV0 01.27.2009 10:23 PM

PM'd you Patrick.

BashemSmashem 01.27.2009 11:15 PM

And I am a brit too, do I still have the "Texas ok" to test this motor if Patrick deems me fit....?

hemiblas 01.28.2009 12:04 AM

Ok, I am sending an email now. This sounds like fun.

BL_RV0 01.28.2009 12:13 AM

E-mail as well as PM sent.

rotary rocket 01.28.2009 01:10 AM

So what would the application of this motor be?

It seems it would be too slow on 4S. I guess it will be meant to run on 6S?

hoovhartid 01.28.2009 01:37 AM

well... I sent the e-mail. here's hoping....

I live in florida, so weather isnt an issue.

I can drop it in my erevo. I have tested a HC 9xl, kb458xl, a medusa 60mm 2000, and currently have a tekno neu 1515/1y that I can pull to drop this in.

I've got two suitable vehicles and controllers and batteries and everything, but I live too far away and have no data logger :(

Arct1k 01.28.2009 10:52 AM

So scores on the doors - who will be the selected band of Monsters that will torture your 1518's :)

It had me laughing good!

You linc are a reformed Brit. No one who has spent as much time as you living in coon-ass country can be a true Brit anymore!
I love British humor as I have said before and knew that would get something going!!!:diablo:

I do agree someone who goes by the name bustitup may not be the right candidate for the beta trial though, or maybe he is!?

Patrick, just make bustitup sign a waiver. :rules:

Looking forward to seeing reviews from you guys.
One more question for Patrick: what size will your 1500 KV motor be? even longer than the 1518 ?

Probably alot like a 1521 1y, it is near 1500kv.

The 1518 looks like a really good size for a larger/heavier 1/8 scale MT, such as the various XL vehicles that have come out recently. And it will be a good choice for people running really heavy tires on the smaller trucks.

Arct1k 01.28.2009 12:07 PM

Yes all the motors a 1Y with increase in rotor size to make it slower

1512.25 2650kv
1515 2200kv
1518.3 1800kv
1522 1500kv

1518 would be nice on my G3R as it a bit heavy with the 6s2p A123...

Pdelcast 01.28.2009 01:57 PM

Thanx for the submissions guys! I'll be making my choices this weekend, and we'll be shipping the motors out on Monday.

Thanx again!

So far we have quite a few responses, but there are a few things to remember.

If you are interested, send an e-mail to Patrick, don't just reply to the thread. When you send Patrick the e-mail, be sure to include your contact information AND your name here on RC-Monster.

Also include some information about the setups that you can test the motor in. IE vehicles, batteries, data loggers, etc. Also your experience in R/C, what you've run, how long, etc is helpful. This information is crucial for us to choose the right people to get the most out of testing. Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and response to helping us out, your help is greatly appreciated!

GREYGHOST 01.28.2009 04:18 PM

I hope one of the lucky testers has a Mugen truggy and a 5 and 6s pack and a good data logger.Keep us updated too.

I have all of the above lol. The only problem for me is the weather.

BrianG 01.28.2009 05:06 PM

Same here. Even if my XT8 was ready, it's just too cold for me to stand outside.

skellyo 01.28.2009 05:13 PM

We have great weather here in Orlando. :intello:

hemiblas 01.28.2009 05:16 PM

Weather is sunny and dry out here in Vegas. No snow to hold me up.

There's snow on the ground here, too. Only thing holding me up is my lipos keep coming loose and falling out :diablo:
