Got to love California!

Wow! Mid to high 70's for Southern California all week long......In December?!
How's the weather where you are at?

squeeforever 12.20.2005 07:06 PM

MetalMan 12.20.2005 07:36 PM

Johnny, it isn't that warm here. Perhaps it isn't so because the beach is only 2 miles away :p. It's been ~55-65 here in Huntington Beach.

coolhandcountry 12.20.2005 07:50 PM

Don't worry the globe is heating up nicely.Dubya will see to that(what a nice guy).Heard a story yesterday that polar bears are drowning now they have further to swim between the ice.Oh well, maybe i'll be able to drive my RCs in the winter soon.

captain harlock 12.20.2005 09:06 PM

Its just like spring and fall seasons here at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Jeddah is a sea side province of KSA and it becoms very hot and humid in summer that we sink in our own sweat after five minutes of walking. Its very seldom when it becoms cold, however.

nbcaznmaster 12.20.2005 10:22 PM

we got highs of 40 MAX! over ehre. Very windy too. Its times liek these, that im happy im fat.

Papa 12.20.2005 10:33 PM

mmdooley 12.20.2005 10:42 PM

OK, rub it in MetalMan. Living large in HB.:D Every other car is Mercedes, Porsche or BMW. With the occasianal Ferrari and Lamborghini. Must be ruff. I've got a couple of friends that live there (one of them having a convertible Porsche) so I get to look at all the eye candy every once and a while.
Careful with the beach though, they are projecting 10-15 foot waves for tomorrow.
And yes, temps do drop as you get closer to the beach.

squeeforever 12.20.2005 11:43 PM

oh yea, rub it johnny. closest thing to a beach around here is the ditch in the back of my neighbor hood.....or the gulf although the dead fish, brown water, and rusty objects are a good reason to stay out of it.

Batfish 12.20.2005 11:55 PM

We've run out of degrees a few days in the past week here in MA (yes, zero degrees). Snow that fell two weeks ago and ice that fell last week are still on the ground everywhere.
We should thaw out some time in March.
:)

danhfvcsd 12.20.2005 11:59 PM

-lmao- I live about a 4 minute walk from this....

http://www.gold-coast.net/photos/sufersparadise.jpg

My place is kinda hiding behind the twin buildings on the right - and the weather is just as good as it is in the picture today - too hot tho - min is round 23C and max is about 33C - it's humid here tho...

I wish every other car was a Mercedes, Porsche, or BMW. Then I would feel rich :L:. My parents each own a Camry ('97 and '00). Are you sure that you're not thinking of our neighbor Newport? THEY got some nice cars...

I know how that is, I'm in Saugus, about 5 minutes from Valencia where every other car is a H2, BMW, or a something fancy. Then again, it doesn't help that my parents have a Benz. :D I just can't stand the large population of yuppie soccer moms with their SUV's.

gixxer 12.21.2005 01:14 AM

its suppose to be 30 tomorrow :). good thing my local track is indoors. I actually use them more now then during the summer (race once a week and might even practice now).

captain harlock 12.21.2005 03:36 AM

I once drove my TB EVOlV at my local track in the night and humidity topped 90% easily. Well, what do you think of that?

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.21.2005 04:17 AM

Cool. As long as you didn't drip you sweat all over the electronics.:L:

captain harlock 12.21.2005 10:25 AM

But the brushless setup did not even thermalled and that is something good. Oh yeah, I was using a 5v fan over the controller. Well, to tell you the truth I dont sweat that much, since I'm very skinny and diabetic, too.

boss 302 12.21.2005 03:53 PM

the cold weather and snow force me to race inside at a small indoor track with my gmaxx makes for very intresting races

nbcaznmaster 12.21.2005 04:02 PM

NO MORE BRAGGING!

gixxer 12.21.2005 07:20 PM

boss,
same here. in the summer I race on an 1/8th scale track but this winter the owner ripped up his carpet track and now its stadium trucks, buggies and mini's on an indoor dirt track. Its not the same but atleast I ran run in the winter now.

boss 302 12.21.2005 09:39 PM

gixxer
at least your track is dirt the one i race at is a flat carpet track with no jumps or anything and i usually race my gmaxx there

against what?

boss 302 12.21.2005 10:56 PM

squee
i usually race other monster trucks emaxxs twin forces and clod busters it is a very tight coarse and it is very hard to navigate without a good setup on a monster truck and it also means there will be several broken parts(i think that this is what you were asking about)

There is officially no complaining unless you live in New York City. We've had a transit strike and have to walk everywhere! Or else split a cab with three other people and have to pay $10 each! And on top if it it has been about 20 degrees.... FUN!

gixxer 12.22.2005 02:31 AM

boss,
i am not complaining at all. the track is not the same as running on a 140+ foot straingt away but i am happy to be able to run every week rain or snow. The track might only be 70x30 but its fun and I think it will make me a better driver. this is a picture of the last lay out http://www.wolcotthobby.com

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.22.2005 04:35 AM

We hit 80 degrees today.

boss 302 12.22.2005 08:45 AM

gixxer
this is were i race at http://www.ycityhobby.com/images/DSC02013.JPG this is a track layout that we ran last year

danhfvcsd 12.22.2005 07:35 PM

phew - man it's been hot and muggy here - have to have the Air Con on everywhere i go....thank god i work indoors in a nice AC'd office :D

Hey - just had an idea - can some of you guys start posting pics outside of ur houses/work/whatnot? Just wanna see what u fellas are putting up with - don't get to see much snow round these parts -lol-

MetalMan 12.23.2005 12:04 AM

No snow here either. But there are mountains only about an hour and a half away.

danhfvcsd 12.23.2005 12:19 AM

we got mountain range along here too - but nothing high enough to warrant snow -lol- Down further south tho, about 8-12 hour drive or something, there's the ski fields where it snows - but hell - not this time of year -lmao-

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.23.2005 03:52 AM

That's the nice thing about Southern California. You can go ride your dirt bike in the desert in the morning, go skiing in the mountains in the afternoon and watch the sun set in the evening at the beach.

danhfvcsd...
Papa posted some pics a couple of days ago of where he lives.

danhfvcsd 12.23.2005 09:21 AM

-lmfao- i remember seeing that, the fridge is killer!! and the street with the cars is something you'd see in one of those emails loaded with funnies -lol-

we dont get sunsets here....over the beach -lol-

thekaboom 01.01.2006 09:25 PM

right now its right between -1C and -10C but it will easily reach -20 and -25C in january and feb

dabid 01.03.2006 03:58 AM

It was 70 on New Year's Eve and Day out in Palm Springs where I was, the nice weather this time of year makes up for the hellish 120* summers.

gixxer 01.03.2006 05:25 AM

today is suppose to have a high of 33. 6-10 inches of snow is also expected.
