Best shocks for crt.5?

Stock shocks are too soft no matter what i try. Is it worth going over 100 weight oil and ordering the white (hard) springs because that is what i'm about to do unless i figure something out.

1/8 buggy front shocks in the rear and Revo GTR in the front

Here is a link to the GTR shock mod....http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...t=crt.5+shocks

These mods are worth EVERY penny!

hoovhartid 02.05.2009 11:40 PM

magman,
what color springs are in the front?

jnev 02.06.2009 12:23 AM

I also run Jato front shocks and Ofna LX-One front shocks on the rear. Here is a picture. BTW - it looks nothing like it does in the picture now.

pink

hoovhartid 02.06.2009 03:30 PM

damn.

those are the ones I have, but I'm not getting the response I need....They are too stiff and the front end is getting bouncy.

....I'll try a lighter oil.

I have green ones I can try too...

anyway. Thanks for the reply.

It took me 3 or 4 tries w/different oils to get it to my liking....I believe there is 50wt. in the front.

ah...thats the ticket then.

I dont know what oil is in it right now....whatever it gets shipped with I guess:neutral:

But 50wt seems higher then what Traxxas would use for stock....

I'm gonna try 30 and work my way up. I'd rather have the lightest I can w/o bottoming out.

Thanks again for your reply brother.

Jnev, Just curious which battery you are running.

They look like these...http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWNW2&P=ML

jnev 02.06.2009 10:53 PM

Yep, thats it. Kind of a low C rating, but running 4s in a CRT.5 means very small amp spikes so the battery does well in it.

On 4s that truck must scream! My truck in the above pic will be run on 3s....

hoovhartid 02.06.2009 11:23 PM

I run 4s with a medusa 60mm 2000kv. Love it!

magman 02.06.2009 11:31 PM

you all are nuts....

Metallover 02.06.2009 11:40 PM

I designed my crt to run on 4s. I also used the tekno battery tray... I could even run on 5s if I really wanted to. BUT the craziest guy I saw either wanted to run or ran a crt .5 with a MMM combo.:surprised:

I know this is a little off topic but how do you like those tires that are in the picture? Im running the same ones on my truck and they dont grip on concrete for nothin. They came with the truck though so i cant really complain.

jnev 02.07.2009 04:16 AM

Yah, those tires aren't too good on asphalt. I mean, they aren't horrible, there are just many options that would be better. The bright side is that they last for ever.

g-townmach 02.10.2009 09:57 PM

well this started out being about shocks.. now it seems its about 4s lipos.

Metallover 02.10.2009 11:16 PM

Did you get the information you needed? The revo shocks in the front is your best bet. The way I see it if you learned what you wanted to know then other people can learn something else...

We'll all get back on topic now..

Arct1k 02.11.2009 06:22 PM
