Limewire Old download
 

Hey guys, I recently installed the new limewire 5.whatever on my comp. I really don't like it and prefer the 4.18.8 version over it. However, on several different sites when i go to download the 4.18.8 version, it downloads me the new 5.something version instead. Anyone know how to get my old version back? Just btw I'm running Microsoft Vista '03 (family version i think...)

You can try frostwire or if you research ares it is also really good. I've got frostwire. There is only one version of ares that works, but it's really nice if yuou can get it to work.

You use LimeWire??? I can't believe your computer can function at all anymore.... Those programs are full of bad bad things.....

well, our comp is like a tank so to speak. im on my PS3 right now but ill chech out that link and frostwire

If you use them carefully, they aren't that bad. As long as you don't try to download any "cute girl has orgasm while riding..." after you search for limelight by rush, you shouldn't have any problems.

On the subject on limewire, I am wondering what the difference between a p2p (limewier) and an online torrent. As I understand, the p2p only uploads files you have downloaded when the program is running, as a torrent will upload whenever you are on the internet. Do I have it right?

No you don't. Both Torrents and Limewire will only be uploading if the program is running AND you have it set to upload.

And also limewire is crap compared to torrents.

I use Azureus Vuze ( www.azureus.com ) I get most my downloads from Pirates Bay or mini nova...Download Vuze and install and set it up. Then visit Pirates Bay or Mini Nova click on some thing you want to down load it will auto start the Vuze..The file will be zipped so you will need winrar or equivalent to unzip it..once you do that make sure you scan the file with AVG or similar to insure a clean DL...I used Limewire and man it really messed my computer up with trojans/virsus.IE Hacks

Few tricks on using bit torrents look for those with high seeder counts as it will speed up a download, read the comments left by others as sometimes there will be a dirty focker who puts a virus in there or its a shitty DL

Pirates Bay...doesn't sound good considering "Pirating" music, movies, etc. is illegal...

What are you downloading? I have seen way more 100% legal torrents than all of the crap on limewire.
