The heat difference between my feigao and CC 1515 was incredible. 50 degree day, both motors weighed the same, the FG was 170f and the CC was 80f. The CC motor was faster too.

Dang, I can get them from Mike here for 140........

As much as I love my Feigao 7XL for torque and speed I finally picked up a 2200 and the heat difference is night and day like you said. I've got an emaxx with the 7XL and one now with the Castle motor. Even on 4S I could tell the accelleration difference between the two with the Castle pulling ahead even on batteries that arent rated as high as ones in the truck with the 7XL. When you put 5S on the CC motor its rolling wheelies at any speed and enough speed so I cant go full throttle any more as the speed just gets to be a bit much. Funny thing is the temps are still lower on 5S geared for 55mph than the feigao on 4S geared for 40mph.

I think Castle is referring to my blue LED powered Feigao motor when they talk about motors that need fans and gimmicks. And sadly enough this fan didnt work as well as it looks. I'll have to take a picture of my dual 40mm fan heatsink I run during summer one day for some good laughs.

Why is the max voltage for the 2650 16.8v/4s? On 5s its the same rpm as the 2200 on 6s. I run my 2650 on 5s no problem, but i would hope to still have a warranty.

castle are just quoting full retail price... It was be in the shops for normally a 1/3 less...

Update from Patrick....We're making an exception for Mike...normally we would not warranty the product since Mike would technically be the original purchaser. We like Mike though.

Because anything over 4s the motor can overheat if you're not careful. You can do it, but read this first.

A Warranty covers an item against manufacturing defects.

So, if we built a Mamba Monster that had a bad MOSFET on board, and that FET blew during normal use, we will cover the Mamba Monster under warranty.

Tech support gives recommendations of what they know works. If you venture far outside of that realm, they will tell you that failures will probably be considered an "Overcurrent" or "abuse" failure -- which wouldn't be covered under warranty.

All warranties work this way. If you blow your clutch on your Toyota Corolla while street racing, Toyota isn't going to cover it under warranty. If you don't change the oil in your Toyota, they aren't going to cover that either.

A Warranty is to cover a consumer in the case that they get a defective component from a manufacturer. There is always some small number of pieces/parts manufactured that have an issue - -so the warranty there is to protect the consumer against defects of manufacturing.

A Warranty does not cover neglect (you get grass in your transmission and it eats up the gears, bad bearings in the wheels which you don't replace, you get dirt all crammed up in your ESC... etc)

A Warranty does not cover abuse (you use a 5500Kv motor with 6S, you run a setup that draws 2000A during acceleration, you try to run a 1/5th scale 4wd buggy with a Mamba Monster, you smash your Mamba Monster with a hammer, etc....)

A Warranty does not cover stupidity (you try to run a Monster with 8S Lipo, you jump your car over your house, you run over your 1/8th scale buggy with your 1:1 scale SUV, etc...)

SO -- what your warranty covers is defective Mamba Monsters.

If you want to experiment -- go ahead. Just don't be too surprised that if you damage your Mamba Monster from over current, that it won't be covered.

If you are careful, you shouldn't have any problems. If you do have a problem, we have a non-warranty replacement policy.

Under the non-warranty replacement policy, we will cover EVERYTHING. (Including hitting your Mamba Monster with a hammer.) The non-warranty replacement is only $70.00 -- so if $70.00 doesn't seem like a hefty penalty for doing whatever you want with your Mamba Monster... GO FOR IT!


If $70.00 to cover abuse seems excessive -- then you can take the advice of Tech Support (remember -- they can only comment on what they have tried -- so anything outside of what they personally have used will get the same "That might be outside your warranty coverage" answer...) and only try things that we have personally tried here at Castle, and know work well.

WE WILL ALWAYS cover (under warranty) any Castle controller that has a warranty issue -- if the controller damage is caused by a defect in a component in the controller, or a defect caused during manufacturing.

No idea on the 1800kv motors guys. I'm running one in my RC8 on 6s and it's a blast! You guys will love it. :)

Joe - Have you heard from Patrick anything about the Beta testing of the 1800kv and 1500kv motors? We haven't seen him on here in over a week.

I remember a guy on the celica forums complaining that Toyota wouldn't cover his blown engine. Want to know why? Because several of the Toyota mechanics had personally witnessed him racing it at the local drag strip. The idiot then tried another dealership, but I guess he didn't realize Toyota dealers are connected via a commen database and warranties are handled centrally via Toyota corporate. Yet Toyota still was wrong in his mind........things that make you go hmmmmmm!

Keep in mind while reading type it isn't always clear but my original posts were somewhat tongue in cheek. Just figured I would throw it out before the "real" whiners and moaners latched onto it.

LOL is all I can say about that one.

I also can't wait for he 1800kv motor..

1800kv sounds great to me for a buggy. looking forward to hearing more on these motors.

+1 here definately will buy one of these 1800kv when they become available. Just think the 2200 was too much for constant 6s bashing as this is all I have now.

that makes me want it even more now lol.
