Looks sturdy, what's the plan for that setup?

Sammus 02.19.2009 07:54 PM

That motor mount looks like it could be a little too flexible, what's it made from?

What's_nitro? 02.19.2009 08:24 PM

Hey finfin! I have one of those! :mdr: Are you running 4s/5s/6s? I hope your tires are belted- whatever voltage you run!

It's 1/8" aluminum. If he doesn't hit any jumps with it, it should be OK. I would definitely support rear end of the motor though. He's waiting for the RC-M mount anyways....

Hey guys just about have the GTP done.I fabricated a few simple custom pieces.Mikes battery trays are so easy to install.I have a Protoform PF8 GT 1/8 body for it.300.00 for the kit and RCM conversion parts. If it doesnt snow here tomorrow its gonna get some lite testing. It has a Neu 1512/1.5D/F run on 4s.

That thing is going to fly!

BL_RV0 02.19.2009 09:35 PM

Very nice guys.

Sammus 02.19.2009 09:35 PM

Wow, that sure is a large pinion!

those cars look so sweet, if I had an onroad track nearby I'd build one for sure!

plettenbergs 02.19.2009 09:55 PM

that baby is gittin-it!:gasp:
what kind of radar gun is that?
Mohan has one in his video's!
i need one like that do you have a link?

BrianG 02.19.2009 10:34 PM

These 1/8 scale onroads are really fun, pretty simple to convert, and tough as nails (typical 1/8 scale). Although traction when cold is all but impossible.

NOT STICK STICKER AND COLORING YET...

What's_nitro? 02.20.2009 01:55 AM

Looks good so far. What are you gonna do for paint? 6s2p A123 is going to be awesome. It will have TONS of punch so watchout if you hit the throttle hard.

THANK YOU What's_nitro? How's your project? I'm your fan....
body may not paint, just put some sticker and cutting sticker on it, like my style(clear body).
I tested running yesterday and today. It's very fast. Spur is 51t and pinion is 18t. I can increase pinion higher for higher speed... :yipi:

What's_nitro? 02.20.2009 02:27 AM

You're welcome! ...And thanks! My project doesn't run right now. I'm in the process of overhauling the chassis... Here's a pic from last year:

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4...d/DSC00147.jpg

Yeah 18/51 is very fast! I think that's about 80mph top speed. :oh: You have plenty of room to gear up. What's the biggest pinion you have now? Would you mind being a guinea pig and trying it out for me???? I have a 25T that I haven't tried yet.

bdebde 02.20.2009 02:35 AM

You guys are giving me an itch to get mine going soon.

What's_nitro? 02.20.2009 02:37 AM

Well, it will be Spring soon... I hope. As soon as it's consistently warm outside I can start putting some hours on my cars/trucks!

Thank you for your pinion 25t. My biggest pinion is 20t. I'm waiting for ordering 21t-23t-25t from Mike and also motor mount. :yipi:

What's_nitro? 02.20.2009 02:58 AM

  Sorry finfin, I didn't mean I was sending the pinion to you... My mistake. I worded my post incorrectly. Sorry for confusing you...

But since you are going to order a 25T, you will probably have it before I could test my own setup. I'm hoping the MMM will handle the gearing well.

Nevermind What's_nitro? I'm waiting for Mike's answer whether he send them to impaktrc or not.

I may fix my GPS watch on my GTP on this weekend to know its topspeed. :yipi:

phatmonk 02.20.2009 10:41 PM

Got the body painted today and thought I would share.

thank you What's_nitro? I drilled wrong position of body post's hole. It's too close to the front of body...

What's_nitro? 02.23.2009 10:38 PM

Just drill a new hole in the bottom of the bumper for the post.

B4MAZ,where'd you get a pinion that BIG? Is it custom built? I've been looking for some larger than 25t, which is the largest mike sells.

You can get them from https://sdp-si.com/eStore/. Use the menu on the left to look under spur gears. Then narrow down what options you need for your gear.
