drkros3 02.21.2009 01:30 AM

i thought the green pinion was 32p?

Dirtfreak15 02.21.2009 01:33 AM

i have no idea what it is lol
im not actually using it, i just threw it on there to look cool for now.
ive got a 14t mod1 comin in the mail :) (should be here monday)
i do know that green pinion is 18t which on the speed calculator is putting my top speed at over 80mph... lol lil too much i think :)

drkros3 02.21.2009 02:14 AM

oh ok. then yah its a 32p pinion so it would not work on your buggy. lol. when i sow it i was like no way it works on his car. cuase i wanted to use it cause it looks sick lol.

magman 02.21.2009 09:32 AM

On 5s w/a 2200kv motor, that buggy is going to fly! My mbx-5 on 5s w/a 1512 1900kv motor is so fast, that on dirt, I had to turn down my punch control and I am only running 80% throttle on my radio!

Buggy looks nice by the way.

Dirtfreak15 02.21.2009 03:29 PM

i have it programmed to have no punch control right now
i have a feeling im going to be changing that after the first run lol
im expecting it to be rediculous

Running lower EPA is reducing ESC efficiency. I would gear down instead.

I would dial in tons of punch control, lowest timing, and adjust the throttle curve otherwise I guarantee you're gonna have a heck of a time controlling that power. On my Hyper 8 using a 1512 2d (kv=2700) on 4s is stupid power and more than I can use. To take a ~10 ft jump on a moderate slope, I only need about a foot running start before the jump - and that's IF I can get the tires to hook up.

BTW: The CC pinions are 32p.

brushlessboy16 02.21.2009 07:19 PM

The 2200 is a beast, i can clear my driveway off a plastic kicker ramp with about 5 feet runup.... its hard to hit the ramp cuz the truck is as wide as the ramp

I run no punch control, 0 timing and just have a smooth trigger finger

Dirtfreak15 02.21.2009 09:09 PM

i forgot what i set the timing to... lol
doesnt matter im gonna be bashing most the time anyways :)
more power the better!
waiting for my lipo is killing me!!

mambarustler 02.21.2009 10:00 PM

Looking good, that thing looks killer like an

Dirtfreak15 02.22.2009 02:00 AM

i just fabed a little platform for the receiver
and i cut a little slot on the end for the on off switch, it looks very clean like it was supposed to be there :)
and i also started to do alittle wiring, i routed the servo wire and i shortened up the esc wire since it doesnt need to go that far.
(cant really see wiring in pics, its more for the on off switch, i just spent like 2 hours messin around and makin it so im proud lol

BL_RV0 02.28.2009 01:01 AM

Looks great.

rschoi_75 02.28.2009 03:55 PM

Nice! You should bring it to the next So-Cal bash when we figure it out.

tha5150 03.25.2009 06:25 PM

those tires look beefy.. i usually run on a clay track on sundays near my house and sometimes in the grass in my neighborhood.. do you like those tires alot? what are they made for? dirt or clay or what? never saw tires like that on a buggy.. i have the Hyper 8 as well...

JERRY2KONE 03.25.2009 07:06 PM

Fun...

Yea it looks like your having some fun now. I love the vehicle stand as well. Nice project, and getting new toys like the Spectrum is always cool. Have fun and take it easy until you check out all of your temps, so you don't fry it. Thanks for sharing.

Takedown 03.25.2009 09:08 PM

Looks sweet man.

e-mikey 06.02.2009 08:12 PM

Looks great. I have a few questions for you..

1. where did you get the piece of carbon fiber?

2. How did you mount the battery tray?

3. How did you mount the esc?

Thanks.

Dirtfreak15 06.03.2009 12:32 AM

ive got a ton of carbon fiber in my garage, hit me up if you ant a little piece to make one for yourself

rc monster makes a battery tray that works perfect, thats the one i use, it bolts through the chassis with 2 screws, and then velcro holds the battery to the tray

double sided sticky tape, the one with red backing (seems to be stronger then all others ive used...) i can lift the whole buggy by the esc, its supppper stong!!
