my new 1:1 to mod...

...and the mods have already started, lol. the mailman just brought me a plenum spacer and CAI, and i've got test pipes on the way...and these shots are before i got the tints installed, too. heh.

i kept my xray truggy... i just need a powerplant and some lipos, and she'll be ripping soon. it may be a fall project though - i'm having too much fun with the new toy.

thanks guys.

doug - i just got her about a month ago. i've always loved the z since the new redesign in '02, and i literally stumbled on this one. shopping for a different car after a lease ran out on my old one.

mambarustler: good thing you didn't buy one then. lol.

andrew: your pics almost brought tears to my eyes! this is my first sports car, and i just can't believe the power it has, and the handling is vette-like. it really lives up to it's history/heritage. but she still could go faster.... heh (that'll never change, no matter what the car). anyhow, i still can't wipe the grin off my face - until i saw your pics! what's the story??

like i said...i was a moron... but its ok, cuz this moron is now behind the wheel of a 0-60 in 2.6seconds monster:diablo::na:

Haha i can't wait for my for my license, I wanna get a 2006-2007 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti In Blue  Am in love with that car. I better not show my parents the pics of your car and tell them how old you were if i want to drive at 16  What car you drive now? sounds like a mean machine.

bdebde 03.05.2009 09:37 PM

Very nice car, I love the Z cars. I used to have a 240 and a 260 back in the 80's. Doesn't look like quite the weather for a soft top though ,lol.

i'm guessing it has something to do with his avatar and signature...

thanks bdebde... the soft top really is nowhere near as noisy or cold as i thought. not much worse than a hard top, to be honest. but the whole car won't touch snow or salt next winter.... gotta get a beater 4x4 truck.

As much as i want to disagree with you its the truth you are saying, I know what you mean and I won't be getting it that young first off my dad works with cars and he knows what that car is capable of. And mom is scared that I get into a car accident, so ill probably drive one of the family cars until I finish high school.

mkrusedc 03.05.2009 11:48 PM

Nice car Scott. You''ll enjoy in no doubt. My last sports car was a 1972 Vette. No I am old, married with a kid. Maybe one of these days...........?

What's_nitro? 03.06.2009 12:09 AM

Awesome wheels, man! Do you actually drive that in the snow??? :oh: My friend has a G35 and he can barely make it to work in a flurry!

Unsullied_Spy 03.06.2009 03:18 AM

Looks good. They aren't necessarily "butt heavy," they are well-balanced compared to most cars. What kind of fuel economy are you looking at with one of those? I drove an '04 back when it was new and it had the sticker on it but I don't remember (20/26, I think).

thanks, man - i'm hoping this winter was the last time i drove her in the snow. it's been a while since i drove a rear-wheel drive car. she does better than i expected though - surprisingly, as well as my last car - which was a front wheel drive G6! that thing was HORRIBLE in the snow. made no sense, but it was true.

that sounds about right - i'll have to dig my sticker out to be sure. those numbers fly out the window with my lead foot though... heh.

right you are...you GET A COOKIE:yipi:

hey scott, how much $$$ are you planning on spending on upgrades?....house?...arm...leg...soul?:diablo:

DickyT 03.06.2009 03:26 PM

Very nice Scott, Those Z's are a nice car. A buddy of mine has on '03 Track Model that i play mechanic for the upgrades. So far we have added a larger plenum, nismo CAI, Nismo catback, Nismo strut bar, technosquare ecu reflash. he just bought a greddy TT kit and has sold the catback today. So I have some wrench time coming and then hook him up with Marco at Billet Design for a custom 3" 304 stainless, mandrel bent exhaust.

ClodMaxx 03.06.2009 03:46 PM

oh dicky, you just rattled off my wishlist, lol. but... larger plenum? as in the whole upper and lower unit? or just a plenum spacer? seeing the rest of the list, it's probably the whole unit. i just got a Z1 plenum spacer and a JWT popcharger (it's just a CAI with a heat shield), and i have some resonated test pipes on the way. eventually, i'm getting new wheels/tires, and will probably lower it (coil over shocks). a new exhaust system, someday. then an ECU flash. a twin turbo kit would be sweeeeet, but i don't have that kind of cash. GULP - your friend has some deep pockets! those mods you listed are just about half the value of the car, lol.

DickyT 03.06.2009 03:49 PM

The plenum is the whole unit with a polished alu top.

He bought the greddy kit used for $1200 ;)

not a bad price at all...

if your pockets are real deep (about 5K) and your REALLY adventurous, get a pectel ECU and tune it yourself. hehe but really....capability is ENDLESS

ClodMaxx 03.06.2009 04:48 PM

wow, no kidding. not a bad price at all!

the worst part of the technosquare ecu flash is that it's not customizable...except by them. but man, i can afford $500 for a reflash much more than the units where you can tune yourself!

dicky, out of all of those upgrades, what made the most noticeable change?
