g-maxx chassis tip, you probably know.

If you have a carbon fiber chassis you should put glue on the sides of the carbon. After a time the sides of the carbon can splinter or go to shivers.

You can use tape, brush and second glue.

RC-Monster Mike 02.25.2005 12:44 PM

Yes, this is good advice for any CF parts.

supermaxx 02.25.2005 12:57 PM

Hey Mike if I talk non-sense you have to tell it to me!

how is your HB stadium pro brushless project?

RC-Monster Mike 02.25.2005 01:09 PM

We are still working on the HB lightning project. Been very busy and haven't had much time to devote to it, so it is still in the "almost done" phase! :)

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:18 PM

Thanks for the tip, it comes in handy

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:22 PM

that's why the forum is there!

good luck with your great truck!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:30 PM

Thanks , right now it isnt "great", but it soon will be !

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:33 PM

No I know that,

but if I hear the specs, it will be a nice truck!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:34 PM

true , true, it also sounds that your truck will be awseome too.

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:36 PM

yes I hope it will be with a feigao 7xl on 16 cells!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:37 PM

that thing will really fly

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:38 PM

Serum and I also think that!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:40 PM

well you should think that because its the truth.

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:43 PM

are you going brushless or not?

do you ever had a brushless or another truck?

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:45 PM

i might buy a hv-maxx brushless system, i might even get a brushless system from Mike, what do you recommend?

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:47 PM

how much is the HV system?

It's really a heavy system and it is a real smooth motor besides the feigao or other brushless motor but not real strong. It's a motor that was made to replace the titans for brushless and to have the same or some more speed.

you have to ask alot of questions to chose the right system.

on how many cells do you wanna drive?

offroad track or onroad?

how fast?

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:50 PM

well the Hv system costs 297.99$, its top speed is 32-38mph on 12 cells, i might be driving on 14 cells , it will be mostley for offroad and track. if its over 35mph, im satisfied :)

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:53 PM

Then don't go HV

you can get a good controller for 200 dollars

the bk 9918 and a feigao for 80 or 150 for a good lehner and this setup will be much lighter and stronger.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:53 PM

ok ill think about it, but wouldnt the hv system be more dependable and last longer?

supermaxx 02.27.2005 03:55 PM

Well that's about how you handle it and you have to inform mike about this.

For the money of the HV system you can get a much powerful setup and for 70 dollars, I would wait and get a lehner 3100 XL.

you should talk to mike or hot n cold.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:56 PM

ok i will talk to Mike about this.

HotnCold 02.27.2005 04:15 PM

Hv MAxx

I think that the HV Maxx is a good system - However i believe that the Warrior and lets say 9L Feigao would be a little more beneficial. There are a lot more tuning options with the 9918 warrior and 9L. The performance between the 2 systems your contemplating is sorta close but the tuning options go to the feigao. The Warrior and feigao combo would be the way I would go. You cant go wrong with this combo. And you wont be dissappointed while flying past them HV MAXXES.. ;-)

Sylvester 02.27.2005 04:17 PM

Thanks Hotncold, i think i will go with the fiago 9L with the 9918 warrior, think this setup will reach 40mph on 14 cells?

HotnCold 02.27.2005 04:33 PM

40 mph

You might wanna check with mike on this one - The 9L on 12 cells is fast - on 14 cells you are going to be pushing the max rpms on the motor. But the benefit of going with this type of system versus HVMAXX is that you can easily get another motor to run different amounts of cells. Mike should be checking in shortly so he will let you ( and me ) know about the rpm issue...

Sylvester 02.27.2005 04:35 PM

ok, i wont be running 14 cells all the time but i just want to be on the safe side.

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:45 PM

The HV system is a nice upgrade to the stock sytem (I have these in stock as well) and works particularly well for the slow speed stuff. If you want high end performance, the Warrior/Feigao combo, or warrior/Lehner combo will be superior. The reliability with these German systems is as good or better than the Novaks from what I have seen.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:32 PM

could you post the hv-maxx on your site? maybe you could make a lower price than novak?? :)

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 08:43 PM

I will post it to the store soon. It won't be $297 (will be less). I have many items that need to be posted to the store. I just need the time to do it!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:46 PM

Great! I think once your done posting all these new things you will have a 4th page for the e-maxx hop ups. Now i cant wait till thursday-Friday :)

spymaxx 03.04.2005 09:49 AM

If you have a carbon fiber chassis you should put glue on the sides of the carbon...

Supermaxx:

What steps did you take in gluing/taping the carbon fiber chassis? What glue/ tape? Need more info please! I tried the search, but nothing came up.

supermaxx 03.04.2005 12:17 PM

OK

Well I just used strong and good tape so that no glue will come under the tape otherwise the tape will be glued to the chassis en you don't want that!

First you put a drop of glue on a brush and then let it dry, so it will be hard and then you can easily brush the glue on the sides.

please ask more if it isn't clear for you.

sorry for the late reply

liborlad 03.04.2005 06:45 PM

Mike
Can you comment on the comfortable cell count with the 9L/9918 combo. I thought this was OK on 14 cells but after HotnCold's comments I'm not so sure.
Thanks

RC-Monster Mike 03.04.2005 07:00 PM

The 9L on 14 cells is in its comfort zone. HotnCold may have been thinking of the 8L, but the 9L is safe up to 15 or 16 cells. 14 cells is just about where the 9L wants to be.

liborlad 03.04.2005 07:13 PM

Thanks for clarifying things.

HotnCold 03.05.2005 07:36 AM

liborlad

i apologize for the misinformation - i run a 9l and an 8l and got them mixed up - its a good thing mike is active and oversees as well as he does on this website. Thanks again mike...
