lucias 03.13.2009 05:55 PM

I bought but haven't really read it yet..

Arct1k 03.13.2009 07:00 PM

I have not read it, but i can imagine "weak". I wish that someone who knows what they are doing would write the brushless stuff. I find at least 3 fatal mistakes in every article I read. One of them was hilarious, they tried to say that a bl motor had 3 wires, and one was pos, one was neg, and the other "told" the esc what to do...

Figures, I guess I will have to pick it up and check for fatal errors...:rules:

Good to see that we have someone who is knowledgeable writing articles. I am guessing that you will be writing more? If you need any proofreading just let me know...

lucias 03.14.2009 01:33 AM

The article is 3 pages long.. It covers everything in a conversion from motor/esc and batteries to gearing and brakes. Mike does get some recognition in it.. They show his RC8T.. Overall it is good publicity for the world of brushless..

jnev 03.14.2009 01:59 AM

Any way someone could possibly scan it? I'd be interested to read it, and I am sure others would be too...

lucias 03.14.2009 03:08 PM

I will try and remember to take my magazine to work and scan it on Monday..

Arct1k 03.16.2009 03:18 PM

Were you able to scan it?

lucias 03.16.2009 10:56 PM

I forgot it today.. I put it on the counter for tomorrow..

I am limited to what I can access at work so I had to scan them seperatly to be under the 1mb limit... but here they are...

Good stuff. But 2 questions, I guess your just always supposed to use a smaller pinion, whether your overgeared or undergeared :D I guess the editors missed that, and who did MA pay off to have their batteries pictured????/?? :p

Arct1k 03.17.2009 10:22 AM

Lucias - Thank you very much!

Dam sorry about that it is an error (i'll check my orginal copy) The first one should have been bigger..

Feel free to flame... Scans 1, 2 & 3 were mine...

Also have to say big thank you to TDC57 (Shaun) for proof reading...

kulangflow 03.17.2009 10:48 AM

Did you notice that it says to use a smaller pinion whether undergeared or overgeared?

Also, was it a coincidence that there were four MA packs next to the section about puffing? :-)

Very enjoyable read! Lots of great info.

Edit: asheck beat me to it

Arct1k 03.17.2009 11:03 AM

YAY editorial error! This is my text!

General rule of brushless gearing
Hot motor, Cool controller, cool batteries = Undergeared i.e. increase pinion size
Cool motor, Hot controller, hot batteries = Overgeared i.e. decrease pinion size
Warm motor, warm controller, warm batteries = happy components

So any and all errors are Shauns fault. Good idea Chris, let him take the blame:lol:

I will now read the articles that were scanned, thanks lucias for doing that!

Arct1k 03.17.2009 11:05 AM

Actually the editor changing my text :)

Shaun did a great job - but any mistakes are of course his ;)

jayjay283 03.17.2009 11:31 AM

Congrats Arc, what was the compensation for writing all that out and giving away the golden secrets ? - TY for scanning it Lucias

Arct1k 03.17.2009 11:39 AM

Zero - I asked to do it :)

I figured the more we get the message out correctly the better...

jayjay283 03.17.2009 11:56 AM

Cool man, nice job. Wish I read that 2 years ago. Published Author

Just an FYI on the Tekno conversion they reviewed, it was actually a 1515 1.5 Y, not a 1.5 D they were running. Lol, a 1.5D on that 6s 35c FullyMax pack would be a little much:yes:
