Josh's BL edition revo setup
3 Attachment(s)
well it started as the brushless edition revo, he wanted a better racing setup so we ditched the castle nue 1515 in favor of a tekno neu 1512 3d 1700kv motor, it will run off a pair of 6s 2500 RC-M lipos in paralell for 6s 5000, tekno swaybars will be installed, along with zero offset bowfighters or holeshots, we are using the monster's setup as a starting point for dailing it in.
i finished the install of the new motor, hid the wires, and made a new dean "T" with the wires snaked under the rear shock mount, the lipo wires will be shortened to where they barely plug in and fit in the tray for some very neat and tight wiring. this truck makes me want one sooo bad. |
nice looking truck! I can't wait till I finish my Revo conversion
|
How exactly do you plan to fit a 35mm tall pack in a 30mm tall opening?
|
they are 30mm high, they use 6 of mike 2500 "super" cells each, which fit perfectly into the erevo compartments in any of the following configurations, 3s2p 5000, 2s3p 7500, or 6s 2500, all of which use 6 total cells.
|
btw we also choose the 6s 2500s over the two 3s2p in series due to the fact that he will be also running a single 6s 2500 in his mp9 with a 1512 3.5d 1500kv motor, so he'll have 4 matching lipos, all that will work in both his revo or his mp9.

yea, they are wrong i guess, mike told me they fit in his, plus ive seen pics someone posted of the 5s 2500 and they are smaller than 29mm by a good bit, they are actaully a tiny bit smaller than a 2s 5000 hardcase..... which are usually 25mm
|
i guess ill find out tomorrow morning when i go pick them up but he knew what these were for and said they fit in his, in the 3s2p 5000 configuration, and the 6s1p 2500 is the same battery only wired different
|
Hmm, he should probably update his specs then. A lot of people could overlook them thinking they're too big for an E-Revo.

Very nice truck. Have you done anything to lighten it? LPR tires?
|
a little off topic but any opinions on using his 6s 2500 with a 1512 3d in an rc8?
|
yea itll have lprs thats all we run. As far as doing anything else no, we havent even driven the truck yet.
I dunno sean ??? mike said these would work, i know he has a standard revo there somewhere im sure he has tried his packs in. |
ok sean i found agood way to prove these will fit. i have a 5s2p 5000 pack here, it uses the same cells. It is 50.5mm thick so the cells are 5mm thick each so a 6s would be 30.5mm thick which will fit.

cool i run my 3d on 4s (18-20/44)for the TIGHT indoor track out here, but 6s everywhere else works really well(15/44 for about 40)
|
i like the size/wieght/price of mikes batts, but castle already said my 3200xp's were too small @80 amps, are mikes cells that much better? 10-15 min race is the longest i will run so runtime shouldnt be an issue me thinks...

your 3200 xps should be fine as long as your running 5-6s with them and not 4s, heck i run some cheapo protek 5s 4000 20/30c packs and theyve been running with that motor for over 6 months now, but the 3d isnt designed to run on 4s, you should use 5s and let the gearing compensate for the tight track not the voltage. we had a guy burn up a 1512 3d at our 1st brushless 1/8th race trying to run it on 4s and gear it up for high 30s....just wasnt working.

he was running it in a D8 geared for 40ish and was pushing it hard.....not the smartest move, his main problem was not supporting the motor wires where they exited the can leading to a cooked wire and motor.
we finally got the batteries in this morning and ran the revo today..... its sooo sick handles great with mike setup, the 6s lipo and 1512 3d setup is brutal in the MT with no center diff, its getting over 25 mins on the track and was usally up to about 130 after 7-8 mins and never broke 160 even after 20+, needless to say josh easily won the races today by a LONG ways, and we didnt even have the sway bars or his dx3r and a good servo installed..... makes me want one really bad. and yes mikes 6s 2500 lipos fit perfect in the revo they are 30.5 mm thick and fit just right. |
