Where did Shawn go? (TDC57) His last post was 2/20/29.... I like to see his unique posts that always put me in a good mood... These forums aren't the same with Shawn gone...

I was just wondering the same thing.

life and work - he'll be back i'm sure (hope) in due course...

I shall give him a call (been meaning to) and make sure things are alright with him.

Just left Shaun a message on his voicemail. It rang, which I'm assuming means his phone is on.

I sent him a message 3 weeks ago w/no response...I am sure life is just getting in the way

Were you able to leave a message? Keep trying. I believe his mother in law was about to head back home, but I don't recall him saying anything about going on vacation or anything like that. It sure is curious him being gone like this. I sure hope that family life is going ok. He had been putting a lot of time into R/C and then his wheelchair adventure. That kind of dedication can cause issues with a spouse. Hey James(lincpimp), how about getting a hold of him and let him know that he is missed in here??? We desire an update on his progress....:yes:

I did leave a message on his voicemail. It is strange too, usually I would see him every once in a while in the LHS I work at, but haven't for some time now.

Go knock on his door and ask to see one of his wheelchairs. That way you can see if he is in town, and check to see if he is ok. Its not like him to just drop out of sight for this long.

Does anyone have his address? PM me if you do... He's been to my house but not vice versa.

i talked to him last week... he was fine at that point. i have his addy here somewhere. i will pm it to ya metalman.

That truly sucks. Been through it twice already. The man always takes it in the rear, because the system is slanted towards the woman. Our prayers are with you Shaun. I am sure that most of us knows the quality of his projects and whatever he is selling them for is a bargin.

I can't see what he's selling - can someone post details?

If possible i think it would be nice if we could preserve for him at least one of his pride and joys...

i.e. RCM bids as one for one of the cars and gives it back to him once it is over...

Its one of his 808 projects with a buy it now price of something like $1200. I'm in if anyone wants to put something together for him. I am sure what he really needs right now is money for a lawyer.

He's selling his G3R and E-converted XB808. The buggy has a buy it now price of $1200 and the G3R is bid up to $1080 and hasn't met reserve and has a buy it now of $1500.

I can see the gmaxx getting close to what he has on it, not sure if the buggy will go. He has reserves on both so I am sure he has "live with it" prices set. That way he still can keep them if no one bids it up enough.

I know what he is going through I am in the middle of a divorce myself, over time me and the wife have been going in opposite directions. I am actually looking forward to the change but there are some heavy hearts

maybe someone could be nice enough to buy it from him for an undisclosed amount (low) and hold it for him till the divo is over then sell it back him for the same low amount..........

My best wishes to you. I know divorce is hard but sometimes its the best for both parties. Im sure the kids will understand later down the road. Just because both parents dont live together doesnt mean that they dont love the kids anymore. I just sold all my RC stuff myself just to have a little extra money to pay off some bills and refurnish my kids rooms. Like you said bigger and better things will come later.

Really sorry to hear this, Shaun, particularly for your kids. I wish you well in your job hunt, and hope your kids start doing better.

But on the bright side it sounds like you're really taking care of yourself now. Should help you when (if) you get back on the market :smile:

Not to worry too much Shaun. There are qite a few of here who have been in your shoes. It sucks going through it, but once you are on the other side things just seem to work themselves out. It sounds like you have your mind in the right direction. Just keep doing what you are doing, and before you know it life will look a whole lot different. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bro. It's kind of funny - about a week or two ago I sent him a PM about buying his 808 but never heard back. I just bought a new '09 808 and then saw his buggy on ebay! :oh:

Well considering the state of the economy I am not surprized. People are getting pretty tight with what they have, and even those who have money are begining to feel the burn with stocks, penssion plans, and the value of the American $$$ is falling. I hope that he finds a way to hang on to it anyway, so when the time comes he can get right back into R/C. He will recover just like the rest of us has. Divorce is not the end of the world, even if it feels like it at the time.

Well he did leave me a message this morning on my phone, but by the time I received it he had already posted the message above.

I talked to Shaun yesterday, and he is doing fine. He may even be in LA this weekend so I will have to catch up with him and buy the poor guy a drink!!!

Hey James make sure you take a few of your female friends with you, then I am sure that he will be ok. He has a long history to recover from, and establishing routines with his kids, but a good knocking about will set him straight with the ladies.

I had a few with him earlier this month. I think he is saving himself for special occasions!

I had about 30 on saturday, and I hurt sunday, all day.... But 1 is just fine!
