Where is Shawn?

Where did Shawn go? (TDC57) His last post was 2/20/29.... I like to see his unique posts that always put me in a good mood... These forums aren't the same with Shawn gone...

Takedown 03.25.2009 07:23 PM

I was just wondering the same thing.

Arct1k 03.25.2009 07:33 PM

life and work - he'll be back i'm sure (hope) in due course...

MetalMan 03.25.2009 07:39 PM

I shall give him a call (been meaning to) and make sure things are alright with him.

Just left Shaun a message on his voicemail. It rang, which I'm assuming means his phone is on.

magman 03.25.2009 07:55 PM

I sent him a message 3 weeks ago w/no response...I am sure life is just getting in the way

JERRY2KONE 03.25.2009 08:41 PM

Were you able to leave a message? Keep trying. I believe his mother in law was about to head back home, but I don't recall him saying anything about going on vacation or anything like that. It sure is curious him being gone like this. I sure hope that family life is going ok. He had been putting a lot of time into R/C and then his wheelchair adventure. That kind of dedication can cause issues with a spouse. Hey James(lincpimp), how about getting a hold of him and let him know that he is missed in here??? We desire an update on his progress....

MetalMan 03.25.2009 09:24 PM

I did leave a message on his voicemail. It is strange too, usually I would see him every once in a while in the LHS I work at, but haven't for some time now.

JERRY2KONE 03.25.2009 09:27 PM

Address???

Go knock on his door and ask to see one of his wheelchairs. That way you can see if he is in town, and check to see if he is ok. Its not like him to just drop out of sight for this long.

MetalMan 03.25.2009 09:54 PM

Does anyone have his address? PM me if you do... He's been to my house but not vice versa.

lincpimp 03.25.2009 10:01 PM

i talked to him last week... he was fine at that point. i have his addy here somewhere. i will pm it to ya metalman.

Metallover 03.28.2009 06:32 PM

Has anyone heard from him?

skellyo 03.30.2009 08:53 AM

I found this on eBay listed by Shaun.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160324501584

Looks like this text in his auction may state the reason he's been away for a bit:
"Divorce forces sale (BOOOOooooo)..."

jhautz 03.30.2009 09:24 AM

That sucks.... Been there, done that... Not fun.

Good luck Shaun.

JERRY2KONE 03.30.2009 09:47 AM

Holy crap.

That truly sucks. Been through it twice already. The man always takes it in the rear, because the system is slanted towards the woman. Our prayers are with you Shaun. I am sure that most of us knows the quality of his projects and whatever he is selling them for is a bargin.

Arct1k 03.30.2009 09:52 AM

I can't see what he's selling - can someone post details?

If possible i think it would be nice if we could preserve for him at least one of his pride and joys...

i.e. RCM bids as one for one of the cars and gives it back to him once it is over...

JERRY2KONE 03.30.2009 09:58 AM

Its one of his 808 projects with a buy it now price of something like $1200. I'm in if anyone wants to put something together for him. I am sure what he really needs right now is money for a lawyer.
I know how these things work out, and it is not good.

Arct1k 03.30.2009 10:04 AM

Holy Christmas - worth it but out of my range and our fundraising abilty I think...

Thoughts are with him and the kids... No one wins

He's selling his G3R and E-converted XB808. The buggy has a buy it now price of $1200 and the G3R is bid up to $1080 and hasn't met reserve and has a buy it now of $1500.

lincpimp 03.30.2009 10:24 AM

I can see the gmaxx getting close to what he has on it, not sure if the buggy will go. He has reserves on both so I am sure he has "live with it" prices set. That way he still can keep them if no one bids it up enough.

Best O' luck to you Shaun... Hope everything is ok!

azjc 03.30.2009 01:11 PM

I know what he is going through I am in the middle of a divorce myself, over time me and the wife have been going in opposite directions. I am actually looking forward to the change but there are some heavy hearts

rootar 03.30.2009 01:17 PM

maybe someone could be nice enough to buy it from him for an undisclosed amount (low) and hold it for him till the divo is over then sell it back him for the same low amount..........

TDC57 03.30.2009 02:29 PM

Hey guys what up… I’m sorry I’ve been absent for a while, I’m kind of dealing with some life changing things at the moment and just need to pull myself together and become whole again or as whole I can be the moment.. Anyway not to bitch or bring down the team but (life) has been a little rough lately.. The Wife and I are splitting up / getting a divorce! I’m cool with it (trust me after 18 years I’m cool with it!), but the kids are taking it HARD.. My boy had and keeps having panic attacks and daughter isn’t sleeping, both of their grades are slipping, their always crying, etc… plus work died off, I had to drain what was left in my 401K to payoff the credit cards and keep the house, etc sooooo I’m basically starting from starch and I’m trying like hell to land back up on my feet.. The only thing I got going for me at the moment is I quite smoking and drinking a few months back & I’m going to gym 4 night a week to keep my sanity..

Unfortunately thou I’ve just had to put everything on hold that means anything I enjoy for while wile until I pull myself out of the hole I’m in, dust myself off and move on with my life.

Yes I’m selling some of my toys to get some cash in the bank or pay bills, I’ve gotten rid of three of my guitars, all of the airsoft stuff, my dirt bike, etc but I’m keeping all of my hand / power tools and suba equipment

PLEASE don’t worry about it at all, your all very generous and giving guys but this is my mess to clean up and toys come and go.. Sure it kills me now but I’ll have fun replacing them with bigger and batter ones later this year / early next year.. + if they don’t hit the reserve them I’m not selling them at all so either way I kind of win.. hahahhaaa that's a positive way to spin a shity situation but I got to try to keep a smile on my face some how..

Thank you all for your time everybody and I’m sorry but I just need this time away from everything to pull it together (please note) I wish you all nothing less than the greatest of year with Mike @ RCM and in your personal life..

Have a great one TEAM it been a true pleasure and honor to have known each and everyone one of you!..:yipi:

Your pal who is just taking a brake for now..

Shaun..

rc4x4nut 03.30.2009 02:49 PM

My best wishes to you. I know divorce is hard but sometimes its the best for both parties. Im sure the kids will understand later down the road. Just because both parents dont live together doesnt mean that they dont love the kids anymore. I just sold all my RC stuff myself just to have a little extra money to pay off some bills and refurnish my kids rooms. Like you said bigger and better things will come later.

MetalMan 03.30.2009 04:05 PM

Really sorry to hear this, Shaun, particularly for your kids. I wish you well in your job hunt, and hope your kids start doing better.

But on the bright side it sounds like you're really taking care of yourself now. Should help you when (if) you get back on the market

JERRY2KONE 03.30.2009 05:49 PM

Not to worry.

Not to worry too much Shaun. There are qite a few of here who have been in your shoes. It sucks going through it, but once you are on the other side things just seem to work themselves out. It sounds like you have your mind in the right direction. Just keep doing what you are doing, and before you know it life will look a whole lot different. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bro. Don't hesitate to stop in here and lean on us for moral support.

magman 03.30.2009 06:26 PM

Good luck Shaun....sorry to hear of your situation. When things are tough, remember to look no further than your kids for a smile...even if they are not smiling.

Best of luck Shaun and just remember to enjoy life when you can! I'm sure you'll have no problem doing that.

rawfuls 03.30.2009 09:57 PM

You'll pull yourself out quite perfectly!

Best of luck, even though I haven't talked much over here! :oh:

Sower 03.30.2009 09:58 PM

I'm really sorry to hear about this Shaun and wish you and your family the best.

It's kind of funny - about a week or two ago I sent him a PM about buying his 808 but never heard back. I just bought a new '09 808 and then saw his buggy on ebay! :oh:

It never sold - can't believe it only got up to $405! :diablo:

JERRY2KONE 03.31.2009 12:41 AM

Considering.

Well considering the state of the economy I am not surprized. People are getting pretty tight with what they have, and even those who have money are begining to feel the burn with stocks, penssion plans, and the value of the American $$$ is falling. I hope that he finds a way to hang on to it anyway, so when the time comes he can get right back into R/C. He will recover just like the rest of us has. Divorce is not the end of the world, even if it feels like it at the time.

I talked to Shaun yesterday, and he is doing fine. He may even be in LA this weekend so I will have to catch up with him and buy the poor guy a drink!!!

JERRY2KONE 04.01.2009 01:03 AM

Make sure.

Hey James make sure you take a few of your female friends with you, then I am sure that he will be ok. He has a long history to recover from, and establishing routines with his kids, but a good knocking about will set him straight with the ladies.

BL_RV0 04.01.2009 09:53 AM

Best of luck to you Shaun, hope everything works out well for ya!

I had a few with him earlier this month. I think he is saving himself for special occasions!
