What is the deal, I want my combo

Semi Pro 04.03.2009 12:36 PM

amain now says the 6th

cwallis 04.06.2009 11:44 AM

I want my combo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know what the deal is? Amain still says today, I am waiting for my LHS to call and say it is on its way. I was wanting it this weekend for racing. Can someone from Tekin please chime in and let us know what the deal is, I ordered the 2050kv combo.

RBMike 04.06.2009 02:11 PM

Now it says 4/17. Here we go again playin the waiting game. I wonder why none of these companies can make a delivery date.

cwallis 04.06.2009 02:23 PM

Yeah I know it is very irratating! Can someone from Tekin please chime in and let us know what the deal is.

Semi Pro 04.06.2009 03:10 PM

10 more days might kill you guys?

or would you rather have a system like the monster that was rushed and had tons of problems?

i would wait till next year if i had to for a quality product

cwallis 04.06.2009 03:44 PM

I could wait a month, however I would like to know what is up they keep changing the date, they should just say a date and keep with it. This date changing thing is BULL!

I think the irritation is that people would just like to know so they can plan accordingly. It just seems like dates get set all the time and rarely get held. I'm in the same boat - I just built my XB808 and everything is ready to go. I really want the RX8 system but I have no idea how long it will take to get. If I knew that I would decide if I want to wait or get something else. I'd just like to know personally.

Electric Dave 04.06.2009 07:08 PM

I know several key people at Tekin were racing this weekend at the Silver State race running in the Electric Buggy class (which Tekin Sponsored.) They had a good showing from what I saw on LiveRC. I'm sure once they get back and dig out they will post with news on availability - and plenty of real-world results with the new systems.

magman 04.06.2009 07:11 PM

I am so looking forward to the release of the new system....It will do nicely in my 3.3 Revo conversion

i understand, i have a bran new buggy for mine to go into too and i am planning on useing it as my main race buggy for the season, but if they rush it and it fails then it wont do me any good either.

gixxer 04.06.2009 11:48 PM

hopefully they actually show up for the 17th. it would be nice if tekin would give a straight answer though.

TekinTeamMgr 04.07.2009 09:12 PM

We were at Silver State laying it down! What a huge event. That track was a true torture test and the RX8 and T8 motors had NO issues.

I'd apologize for the delay if I thought it would make you feel better. I'd rather make sure it's right the first time and eat some pride and agreeing that we missed a due date over shipping them not knowing they were 100%.

Some things are just out of our hands at times, as much as we don't like it. We want you to have these as much or more than you want them, trust me. I'd like nothing more than to have a happy warm home for all of the RX8's.

I'll try and take a photo of the huge boxes on their way out.

Thanks for the update...I agree w/you completely w/getting it right the first time... even if it means a small delay. We are all really excited to be getting this new product

cwallis 04.07.2009 09:31 PM

That sounds great! However I would think it should be 100% before anyone starts posting dates. Just my .02:)

TekinTeamMgr 04.08.2009 12:52 PM

Cwallis, I agree with you. We knew it was 100%. Testing at Silverstate was just the icing on the cake. There was a few failures from some other manufactureres and there's really nothing like race testing at an event.

LOL.... You dont work in product development do you.

Try telling a marketing person they arent allowed to advertise something untill its 100% ready. NEVER happen. At least with the marketing people I work with. They are generally busy running around writing checks with their mouths that my ass has to figure out how to cash in the end. Just the nature of business in general, its not just the RC business.

That is very true. It's not so much marketing but our own stubborness!

We refuse to let something out half ass. We understand some people are irritated and upset, we'd apologize if it helped.(we know it won't).

You don't see all the companies out testing at huge real world events like Silver State do you!:yipi:

cwallis 04.22.2009 11:36 AM

Anyone got an email saying that there order was shipping yet?

RBMike 04.22.2009 12:13 PM

As of yesterday, A-main did not even know when they were going to get them.

cwallis 04.22.2009 12:47 PM

That sucks, I was really thinking I would be getting mine this week. I guess I will be putting the MMM Nue back in.

hootie7159 04.23.2009 07:01 PM

my 1350kv came in!!!!!!!!!! amainhobbies!!!!!!! yesssssssssssssss

gixxer 04.23.2009 08:01 PM

yah I saw some people on rctech said there came in. I called tower to see about mine and they still dont know. :(

wallot 04.24.2009 09:50 AM

lucky you. i want 1700kv version as i got used to 5S lipo

RC-Monster Mike 04.24.2009 10:02 AM

We should see these trickle in early next week(motors and combos). Initial supplies will be limited(from everywhere), but should stabilize over the next couple weeks as Tekin ramps up production. :)

Randy, you going to be out at norcal, or prairie city running this summer? Im going to be building a BL 8th buggy and for sure running the Tekin! And I will need some help:mdr:

TekinTeamMgr 04.24.2009 01:58 PM

I'm going to be at Norcal this Saturday as a matter of fact. And yes I'll be going to all of the local tracks around our area.

BlackedOutREVO 04.24.2009 02:01 PM

Crap. Sawyer and I were planning on Lakeport this weekend. Hmm. I want to go to norcal and run wheeler. Havent done that yet, Looks like a fun track!

How big is the 8th class there?

TekinTeamMgr 04.24.2009 02:05 PM

I have yet to go myself. But I hear the track is large and there should be over 100 guys this weekend. 1/8 should have 25+ guys in it.

BlackedOutREVO 04.24.2009 02:14 PM

Yeah its a big track. Sawyer went a few weeks ago when Tyler Vick did the failed backflip.

Norcal is always packed!

hootie7159 04.24.2009 02:15 PM

where is norcal at?

BlackedOutREVO 04.24.2009 02:30 PM

Woa, your in sac to? WTH. I didnt know that! Where at?

NorCal is in union city I believe. Kinda san fran area.

Where have you been running Truggy and all that?

hootie7159 04.24.2009 02:36 PM

Take it your racing there to also:lol:

Anyone else? You guys post on Rcracing.com?

RBMike 04.24.2009 04:20 PM

You will have a hard time finding a better outdoor 1/10th offroad track anywhere. The 1/8th scale track is evolving and fun every week. The NorCal Crew & customers are a great group. There are some VERY fast guys there. rcracing.com has threads for both off road & onroad at Norcal. Oh ya and for the onroad guys the have a supper smooth paved track & a smallish indoor carpet track (which they also run 1/10th & 1/8th carpet offroad on some times). If you like RC cars you must check this place out.

hootie7159 04.24.2009 04:23 PM

for sure.........i typically go on the weekdays (my work schedule allows me to:yes:) and myself and a guy i work with go out early in the morning...it will be nice finally talking to someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to brushless 1/8th scale setups....no one else there has a clue:neutral:

BlackedOutREVO 04.24.2009 04:33 PM

Yeah there on road track is cool. I like Speed world better

Norcal for off road is the shiz though! Especially when I can run wheeler and 8th buggy at the same track, same day! Kevin J is a super cool guy also

We will all have to meet up at norcal or something and do some racing. We need to make a new thread about this! LOL Sorry Tekin
