Ofna should contact Mike and work something out to use his chassis and layout so it would be a package...then that would be a sweet kit.

Snipin_Willy 04.06.2009 08:05 PM

It's def not a RC-"Monster"
Mike chassis rules all conversions, makes it so much easier to control. Good idea for Ofna though, wonder if we'll see any more mini Hyper ST's. Maybe they should do the same for the 1/8 scale Hyper?

magman 04.06.2009 08:29 PM

At some point, I would not at all be surprised if a major man. came along and talked to Mike about producing a kit for their particular truck/buggy.....His kits are far and away the best conversion kits on the market.

Why does every frakin RC mag/media always put maxcraps lipos in their car? You would think that was the only lipo ever made. Just how much is he paying out in ads? Nudie pix of all their wives? what's the deal?

Arct1k 04.06.2009 10:07 PM

They give them free lipos to test with the mags can't afford to buy there own...

I think the fat guy thinks he is funny... What a tool bag... It is like he is going to shock the world with his philisophical ponderings. Shut up. I want to see the other guy bitch slap him out of his chair. That would be worth watching this painfuly stupid crap.

Anyways the mini hyper st electric conversion (not a crt.5 as arktic mentioned).

Thanks Chris, that was the most painful 17mins of my life.

crazyjr 04.07.2009 12:04 PM

With it being in the hyper, and the CRT.5 using the same diff mount, its possible to see it in the .5 as well

I'm with ya. The stupid flirting with the chick? Come on! Its cool to see manufacturers catering to electric. We'll keep pushing the boundaries for them.........

Man, I'm sorry I missed it  I got bored, skipped ahead, saw the maxamps pack and the geek and closed it. Sry Chris lol. Too much maxamps lately. Was reading a rc mag the other day on the BL erevo and thay had all MA packs for it all.
"ZZOMG DESE PACKS ARE DER AWESUM. REVO GO SO FASTEST." Retail price for 6S as tested: $370. WTF. Pretty much true for every bl review.

Mike needs to slap some nice RC-Monster stickers on his packs and start sending them to mags for exposure. This MA invasion is making me mental.

Arct1k 04.07.2009 04:13 PM

must be me but it doesn't bother me at all - just like the office is a laugh to work in - Nice when you job is to play with rc's

Finnster 04.07.2009 04:26 PM

IDK, I know I'm def a nut. I just want someone to take those guys down a notch. Too much money and preys on newbs. I hate to see the not-so-well informed get taken in.

that post made a bit more sense before your edit.

Anyways, did anyone ever do a mini-HST conversion? thought someone was working on one once...

there you go

Unsullied_Spy 04.23.2009 06:34 AM

Wow, I couldn't finish watching that. Made it to the part where they were messing with the camera and found it way too unprofessional for people representing a company and sponsors. Cool kit, but what's the advantage to the mini Hyper over the CRT .5? I'd rather have my RC-M CRT .5.

stum 04.23.2009 07:47 AM

Here is the advantage.. look how clean and simple this baby is! Its just the next step.. evolved a bit more.

Thanks for the pics. I'm still staying with my RC-M conversion though.

I'm in the process of setting mine up VERY similiar to yours.

It's going to have:

Cyclon car 2000kv motor
19/46 gearing
MM with CCBEC on 4S

What motor and gearing are you running with yours? I love the Medusa motors. I just haven't decided on which Medusa will be best for this setup.

magman 04.23.2009 09:07 AM

Nice clean layout. I do not like how far the servo horn sticks out though

stum 04.23.2009 10:37 AM

I went w/ the medusa 36/50mm 4800kv w/ mine & it seems perfect! I'm currently I'm stuck w/ 14t as that was the only 5mm bored pinion I had laying around (comes stock w/ 1/8th 14t) in the kit. With the stock tires on only at 3" height it's top speed is under 35mph right now. I am just waiting for my 15t and 16t spurs to show up. I plan on running 16t w/ the smaller tires and the 14,15t w/ the larger buggy tires. 38 to 40mph is the fastest I want to be geared for anway and that is pushing it... iMO. Keep better control on the track and keep battery usage down some w/ the lower gearing. (I'm running only 2s Elite 35c hardshell race packs)

PS for some the servo location would also be another location for mounting something, I will most likely have my transponder at this spot. The servo itself doens't hang over but the horn does... but where it's located I don't see how it would ever be a issue as it's higher than the chassis is off the ground so you'll never get any contact. Not to mention the linkage doesn't hang over the side so it's all well protected. So far it's a beast and a great design, very very durable.. shocks and all big bore style good stuff. No 'hop ups' needed. I love stuff that is truly ARR.

Note on my setup from the other thread.. diffs are stock w/ grease instead of oils.. I found a buggy setup 7/10/3 works best iMO.
