Always Dreamin 04.09.2009 11:26 PM

Sweet! it is also in their catalog. There is a bunch of info on it... It looks like a very nice truck, but for the time being, my rc18 will have to do. Looks like they are also listed in the "products" section of their website. Avaliable may 14...

Metallover 04.09.2009 11:34 PM

Sounds like they did the diffs right... Does anyone else notice something wrong with the 15th slide?

Let's all hope they don't make them like that!

I think with dual batteries a sweet setup would be a 4s flightpower. Hopefully the battery trays will fit the flightpowers and most other good lipos that are 100-110mm long. 4s lipo with a medusa or neu would... Test the diffs for sure!

Can we review the release date and price?

Always Dreamin 04.09.2009 11:55 PM

Release date is May 14. Prices are pending (not listed on any site I've found)

BP-Revo 04.09.2009 11:56 PM

I was thinking of stuffing my Lehner 1930 in there...maybe I'm just insane...

And perfect timing. I know what I want for my Birthday!

lincpimp 04.10.2009 12:10 AM

Those diffs do look solid. Now I am torn between the mini slash and revo... I think I will take the mini revo. Do they list battery tray dimensions yet? Looks like their packs are 6 cell 2/3a packs. So a pair of 2s lipos like that in parallel would give stupid long runtimes, and I am sure that it could be geared to get around 35 out of it with 2s lipo. That way the internal bec could be retained, and temps should stay low. At least it has 48p gearing, and I bet the motor shaft is 1/8, so std pinions will fit...

jhautz 04.10.2009 12:30 AM

I am so all over that mini revo its not even funny!:intello: Where do I order from. I want to get a stock "mini revo" class at my local track. Imagine running these things on a full out 1/8 scale track with 10 or 15 of them on the track at once. Total blast!!!

BP-Revo 04.10.2009 12:49 AM

Linc, I was planning to do 3S in parallel, but that's me. And yes, I want one NOW!

lol

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 01:07 AM

3s would be a sweet setup!

jhautz 04.10.2009 01:08 AM

It says the esc will take 12 cell NiMH so its gotta be able to take 4s. Probably doesnt have a LVC profile for 4s though.

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 01:53 AM

If the limit is 14.4V, and 4s is 14.8 that wouldn't work, right? I like how they went back to the simple NiMh. An honest speed claim right there!

jhautz 04.10.2009 01:56 AM

That was the limint on the Mamba max too..... But we all know that didn't mean anything. I was running the MM on 5s lipo for a long time.

Besides, 12 cell NiMH peaked is almost identical in voltage to 4s fully charged.

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 02:11 AM

That is true.. I wonder if it has a LVC built in... i mean, it comes with a NiMh, so I wonder... No doubt people will push it, if it is anything like the 1/10 version, it should be a killer.

squeeforever 04.10.2009 02:29 AM

I'm gonna buy one of the Revos when they come out, no doubt. Along with all the hopups. :) Just gotta sell something. :(

Anyone else notice the sealed diff saying its the only one like that? Its not...The Kyosho Mini Inferno ST has had that for a couple years now...

It says lipo cut off for 2s and 3s.

Mini LST2 had sealed diffs too. They sucked in that one though, just not quite as bad as the MLST difs.

Forgot all about the MLST2. But then again, MLST=EPIC FAILURE.

RideIcon 04.10.2009 03:48 AM

Nice!!!!

crazyjr 04.10.2009 04:06 AM

Its finally out, yeaaaa. I hope the battery box is not limited to 90mm batterys, 100mm is a better battery to find, closer to the rc18 side by side packs. I know i'll get a ME revo eventually, will probably leave it stock (link wise) though i'll change the motor and esc eventually. I have thought a 1105/7 neu would be perfect for this truck with 4 s lipo, however, if it has a dual pattern motor mount, like the E revo, you might see my lehner 1200xl/quark80/5s setup in there . Looks solid and hope traxxas learned from others on what not to do on mini's. It looks like they could do a center diff in it as well

Oh and one more thing, Gorillamaxx, please make a G based chassis for this, My G2R needs a little brother or son

BP-Revo 04.10.2009 04:53 AM

If you look in the accessories page it already has a center diff as a listed option.

I'm getting one when it comes out for sure, hope it isn't too expensive...though I think I can recoup some cash from selling the battery and charger that comes with it. I think it'll be a big draw to some newbies on the Traxxas forum. Probably can get close to 50 bucks for the pair...

Unsullied_Spy 04.10.2009 07:08 AM

I think they said to expect them to be $250-$300. Too bad I just bought a Micro DT :(

Maybe it's just me, but I really wish we could get a Traxxas video that didn't have time effects done to it. The one I watched for the mini E-Revo was sped up throughout almost all of the video. They're really high on themselves for making it, why not let it's performance speak for itself without having to cover it up with video editting?

gixxer 04.10.2009 08:34 AM

I think my son will end up with one of these. He is only 16 months but loves pushing mine around my slash or e-revo. Well atleast I can say its for him. :)

skellyo 04.10.2009 09:38 AM

Just called my LHS and told him to make sure he's got 1 of each set aside for me when they come in.

skellyo 04.10.2009 10:26 AM

MSRP:

Mini Slash $490
Mini E-Revo $510

From the best I can tell, the VXL Rustler has a MSRP of $490 and the VXL Stampede MSRP is $510. If the current price of those are any indication of street price, we should be looking at between $250-280 for each of these new trucks.

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 11:26 AM

Sounds a little high to me. A rc18Mt is $180 for a brushed setup...

looks like a big enough difference to justify the cost. the sealed diffs and a brushless system are worth the extra, at least to me.

I agree. Where else can you even buy a RTR brushless mini? I don't think I've seen one yet, at least not from a major manufacturer.

If they sell for around 250 it is definitely worth it. The 18t is much smaller and weaker, and the rtr equipment is pretty poor, as far as upgrade ability is concerned. Looking at the traxxas motor and esc I doubt I would swap them out... 30 on 2s and 45+ on 3s is just right.

I looked at the specs for other traxxas vehicle to get a size comparison, and the mini revo is about the same with as a bandit, and a few inches shorter. The mini slash is a bit longer due to the body. Both look good, but I favor the mini revo for my driving locations. Looks like fun, and I may have sold my rc18t!

BrianG 04.10.2009 12:54 PM

The only thing that needs to be changed is to get rid of that AM radio and put in a 2.4GHz system. It IS brushless after all!

Seriuosly! How awesome would that be.

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 04:23 PM

I am honestly just wishing I had waited to buy my 18... i have always wanted a BL revo, but couldn't afford one. Now I might be able to.

mikey09120 04.10.2009 06:34 PM

looks like my new car. ill have a 1/8 e-revo and 1/16

crazyjr 04.10.2009 08:30 PM

I got some new info, from the pages of the mini e-revo. Not sure on tire diameter, but the wheels are 2" and run on 12mm hexxes, the VXL 380 motor is 4000KV, and there will be a center diff. Persoanlly, I'd be tempted to run bandit rear tires for racing

Metallover 04.10.2009 09:15 PM

that all sounds sweet. I like how they didn't make the motor a million kv. 12mm hexes are really nice. Now we can run 1/10th onroad tires and most tenth scale tires.

I'd be temper to run 10th scale truck gladiators. :diablo:

gixxer 04.10.2009 09:33 PM

I will try to mount up some kyosho rb5 rears on the slash when I get one. I have lots of spares from my 10th scale buggies.

lincpimp 04.10.2009 09:37 PM

Looks like some crt.5 stock wheels and 2.2 buggy bowties would be a cool combo..

NoControl 04.10.2009 10:25 PM

If at all possible, when ever some1 got one of these, it'd be cool to se if the vxl could be swapped out for a mamba ccmsXX00 series motor and mamba max esc, then try mambas new stupid fast 9000!

Semi Pro 04.10.2009 11:27 PM

if they are $250 i will get a mini revo for sure, just looks like to much fun

Always Dreamin 04.10.2009 11:38 PM

I'd be curious to see the price... At $250 it would be a bargan... I know i said earlier that it seemed a bit steep, but now it doesn't seem so bad. Now that i look at it closer. I'd love to sell the 18 for one...
