Can size?
What size is the can for the MMM 2200kv?
I was wondering if it would fit in my rustler? (Yeah, im crazy :)) |
It is about 44mm diameter I believe. It'll fit with a FLM tranny case

its because of the entire left (looking at the back of the truck) casing where it covers some of the motor.. a 2200 will not fit under without an flm transmission case as stated above or major modification
You are pretty limited to 36mm diameter motors... if you have the cash look into the 14 series neu which is has the same internals as the 15xx, but in a smaller can. 2200 is wayy too much for a rustler on any voltage, a medusa 60 would move it just as well and be less weight. |

im going to do it :) |
Ok well if your gonna you better run it on 6s 10,000mah and mount the battery in the front, using it as a bumper. That's gonna be your only hope at keeping the front end on the ground.

Do what Rc-Driver Did to test the Bl revo on 6s. Duct taped a 2lb Iron weight to the fro of the truck.
You better make sure your tires are glued well and you have plenty of spare trannies lying around |

What tires are you running? Anything under 3.5" and it will not wheelie- trust me. Speed Hawgs are good, or Panther slicks. As far as top speed- how much room do you have?
|
im doing this for shits and giggles :D
i may actually go somewhere and do a speed run im running talons, ill need new tires :) |
Yes I meant 6s 10,000mah!!! Your going to need a brick on the front of it to keep the front down! Tires under 3.5" don't mean squat, it's still gonna wheelie. A 1515 motor on the back is a lot of weight that is going to help any tire get traction. My friend was using 2.2 dirt hawgs with a 4600kv sidewinder combo and all that did was wheelie only running a 2s MA pack

2: The suspension was too soft. 3: The battery didn't provide enough front weight. |

series, with 2 3s 5000mah it is 6s 5000mah parallel, with 2 3s 5000mah it is 3s 10,000mah well my talons, basically have no grip :) |
Neu 15-series motors DO fit without modification to an FLM transmission. I put a 1515 on my plastic transmission and had to do some serious modifications. My 1506 fits my FLM tranny without modifications.

Note the sagging rear suspenion  What speed did you have it geared for?
|
 Yeah, those lipos alone weigh about what the Rustler does with my 1506 in it then there's the weight of the 1515. In that picture I was running 22/54 but after that I went up to 24/34 or so. My trim and alignment was still off when I removed the motor but it was breaking 50 MPH without a sweat and it was snapping stub axles every run.

I really dont see the point of putting a cc 2200 combo in a rustler...?
|
Neither do I. It's highly impracticle, I put my 1515 in there because I had just pulled it out of my E-Revo and it was headed for my Muggy and I wanted to see what it could do in a Rustler. IMO a Neu 1509 is the biggest motor you'll need in a Rustler unless you're going for some serious speeds (a 1509 should be enough to push you to 90 or so). I've got a 1506 in my Rustler geared for 40ish on 2s lipo and it's an incredible motor. Gear it up and I have no doubt it'll do 70-80 MPH. It's got the spunk and driveability of a MM 5700 motor with more torque than a VXL.
|
I saw a video of a Novak HV4.5 in a rustler on not even lipo (12 cells nimh). It was screaming, but it wasn't long until one of the rear tires ripped in half.
|
wow, im suprised... the 6s held up fine, did about 10 speed pases, the the driveshaft broke
this thing is fast :) |
