Hey Monster Mike: Maxx CD
Mike-
JERRY2KONE and I are both waiting for a couple of your e-maxx center diff/motor mounts. There are alot of others on the forum looking for this as well. I held up a center skid plate from a t-maxx to your flm unit and the mounting holes are a match. This means with different driveshafts the unit is a direct bolt in for any 3906 e-maxx, or any flm e-maxx. This also means it's a direct bolt in for any t-maxx, and you can sell these as a t-maxx to brushless conversion. Furthermore, you can sell it as a combo with your slipperential and make a bundle. Also, its design lends itself to being a universal mount, and could easily be used in a MGT or LST, which is what I want to do with one in an LST. You really should pay me:intello: So any plans on making these? We're all chomping at the bit. Here's the best pic I have so people know what I'm talking about: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l..._/white011.jpg |
p.s. mount can be used with motor facing forward or backwards
|
that motor looks strangely familiar......is that a KB45-8xl? i have that same motor for my savage conversion.

Yep! As I have said in a few threads and unanswered emails sent directly to Mike I want one bad. Herod, your a genius! I hope this works!
P.S. Please Monster Mike! |
i've seen people complain about these KB45 motors running hot when geared normally. there's people who gear their MTs to 50-60mph and have no heating problems. as explained to me by a guy running one in a truggy geared to 65mph, you have to gear it pretty high to run it at peak efficiency. he said he gets temps in the 120s (farenheit)
|
I wouldn't mind getting one of those mounts.
|
I would like one too, as long as it would work in my g3r. It looks like with some modification it should.
|
You can put me on the "waiting list".
|
Harold maybe post a picture from the side showing how much it lowers CG also. I doesn't get much lower than this. I may steal a pic in a minute...
|
|
Yep thats the one I was thinking about deboing.
|
Heeeeeeeyyyyyyy Mike!
|
I'd be in.
|
I don't understand. If this is a patent issue why hasn't he just told somebody. The OP makes it sound like a gold mine. I would be jumping all over this thing. However the first one built I'm aware of was built well over a year ago... and he still hasn't touched it much that I know of since... could be wrong. How many are there? Maybe there is somekinda flaw like maybe debris, rocks and such get caught in it way too much to be worth it or something... IDK that still doesn't explain why he hasn't spoken any on the issue.
|
As far as I know there are 4 in the world..... I have one, ssspconcepts had 2, sold one to skellyo, he sold it to somebody, and JERRY2KONE has one.....
there are no flaws, it works magnificently and is ingenius in design, right down to a keyway milled in to reach the pinion setscrew, its very well thought out. I think Mike is just busy. Give me a few days.... |
You wanna sell it? I'll get that damned brushless wheelchair for ya...
:D |
OK OK - I wil move this up on the "to do" list. :)

Sweet! Mike, any word on how this would fit in a g3r? I would be looking to use the v3 diffs and slipperential. Thanks!

Thank you.
Thank you MonsterMike for getting back with us on this one. I know you are not real hip on the whole thing, but there are a bunch of guys out here who would love to have one and try it on their setups. I want at least two of them for my collection. We have all heard the propaganda about how old the 3906 E-Maxx is and that it is out of date and washed up, but there is still a pretty good size fan base out here who feel differently. I like the E-Maxx and I think it is a pretty solid platform with clean engineering even if it is old school. Sure there are all sorts of vehicles out there with more updated designs that may or may not be better overall, but with all of the aftermarket products you can still get for the 3906 it is still a good vehicle.
Anyway thanks for jumping into this for us. I am stoked about getting a few of these as soon as you get them in the store. So how long do you think it will take to get a run of them on the shelf? |
GO MIKE,GO!!
It is nice to know BIG BROTHER is listening! This Forum rocks!:mdr: |

So stoked that we will get these soon. :intello:
Will be a Great w/ the slipperential, (+1). |
I'm on the list for one...
|
<---- Been on the list since SlipperV1, just didn't have any money at that point in my life.
You can put me down for two. I've got one black anno chassis, and one polished. They both need this. |
Popularity.
Well Mike it looks like the center diff/motor mount for the 3906 E-Maxx has more popularity then some realized:lol:. I have no idea what your profit will be on each unit, but you should be able to sell a few of them once there in the store:intello:. Thank you for breaking down on this one and making us happy. You won't make a fortune on this one, but you will have a bunch of happy customers speaking good of you and RCM support:yes:. Way to go Mike.:yipi:

Pretty.
That thing sure is a pretty site for an E-Maxx of any kind. This is something that we have been waiting on for a long time. Hopefully Mike will have some on the shelf soon.
