Nice paint jobs on the maxx and rat rod rustler. I like the rust effects!

I assume the knee/shin guard is going to be the e-maxx body? Kind looks like a Road Warrior vehicle.

and almost forgot: Welcome to the forums!

schofield 05.12.2009 01:55 PM

yes it will be the e-max body but i have a lot of cutting out to do, i am going to go for a skeleton look ...kinda like a rib cage and bones... something to that effect.

and thank you for the welcome, i have been over on the traxxas forums trying to help out the little ones but no one wants to listen. lol

lincpimp 05.12.2009 02:00 PM

I will never look at a Toyota Tercel the same way again!

Welcome to the forums.

schofield 05.12.2009 02:03 PM

its an art car. i was able to be the first in vermont to registered it as "multi" colored

TexasSP 05.12.2009 02:13 PM

This forum is full of folks who have quit the TRX forums. Posting on the TRX forums is like beating your head against the wall and an utter waste of time. Glad you found RCM.

its a regular toyota, it took me like 5 years to paint. there are many layers of paint on there all covered up
we bought the car used when we first got married 13 years ago.

Byte 05.12.2009 03:38 PM

Wow, that looks cool! Why did you change it? (Normal people like those paints mostly, I like the last version more )

schofield 05.12.2009 03:43 PM

Cool paint on the real car!

rawfuls 05.12.2009 07:11 PM

Well, hi there.

I visit the TRX forums for shits and giggles...
Kind of fun actually
But some guys are actually trying to help, but they just don't listen..

Nice paintjobs!

Specifically the rust job, but, imo, the rust job on the TMaxx looks a lil overboard..

Never really liked old cars, but that's just me, and my stupid self.

:

i know you form the TRX forums we were talking about the KD motors just yesterday.

i remember the name it sounds like Scooby Doo saying waffles.

tmaxx rust is supposed to be overboard as its 3 or so bodies put together. supposed to look junkyard welded.

How did you make the rust btw?

DickyT 05.13.2009 09:08 AM

Great job on the rust work and I love the tercel with the exception of the "blower". It maybe just me and being raised around race cars but I do not like "wannabe performance", now the multi color and piercings are great! I really like the barbell and chain on the rear bumper.

I am looking forward to see what becomes of the shin guard.

the rat rod was hand painted on the inside..
http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...hand_paint.jpg
and the maxx was painted on the outside. where ever the paint was thick or chipped or wrinkled is where i put the rust so the rust is as natural of a placement as it can be.

cool thanks, yeah i know about the "wannabe" factor, (like screw on tailpipes) but this is an art car and it is supposed to be over the top.

TexasSP 05.13.2009 09:37 AM

I would also think the obviousness of the fake blower makes it art and not wannabe. No one that know anything about cars would mistake it for a real blower in my opinion.

schofield 05.13.2009 09:47 AM

thank you, on a side note i probably had my picture taken with the car at least once or twice a month

rawfuls 05.13.2009 10:11 AM

Yeah schofield, that's how I recognized your name so quick when I checked the forums...

Ah, now that I see it's two bodies put together, it looks cool!:party:

Did you JB Weld it? Or just paint it differently?

HAHA, Scooby Doo. That's funny.

I made the username quite awhile ago, it was one of my universal names, where I used everywhere.

rofl... = Rawfuls

ROFL usually means rolling on floor laughing, so I just said why not..

schofield 05.13.2009 11:25 AM

not JB weld but something similar thats why there is that silver "weld" between the to parts. to make it look getto welded.

sorry about the scooby doo comment i have two daughters that love scooby doo

rawfuls 05.13.2009 03:58 PM

Haha, the scooby doo comment is cool, I like it, I think I'm gonna have to steal that from you.:yes::lol:

TBH, I also really DON'T like wannabe performance cars with those "cool" guys in there. But this car looks so damn funny so every idiot knows it's just for the fun and not for the wannabe performance

EDIT: You aren't an idiot, but I don't know how to say it in other words, my English isnt very good >.<

Nah, I'm an idiot! you nailed that spot on. I appreciate the details that went into the blower, very creative use of parts to make it. I just don't like the blower because I can not get past my gear head raising. ie: I'm an idiot

The great thing about art though, it is subjective by design.

schofield 05.15.2009 08:52 AM

if my last car got this much talk then my current car should start up quite a stir... Its a HPI Silver dragon series BMW (honda civic)
http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...axx/bmwcar.jpg

DickyT 05.15.2009 10:43 AM

Good stuff! I must check my gear head, car is mis badged ego at the door and have a laugh! Now you need to convince your wife to let you paint it!

And get started on the brushless conversion so it can be the RC-Monster, HPI, silver Dragon edition BMW

brushless 1:1 sound fun.. on the wife letting me paint this car, yeah ive tried, not gonna happen at least not like i did before. she said if i make real paint masks and use real automotive paint and sprayer i could. im assuming if i can get approval on the design from her. :rules: funniest part is this is my only HPI vehicle.
