Fastest Truggy record?
Is there any recorded speeds for a Truggy? Just curious.
I just got my CRT truggy in and I might throw 6s and a big pinion on to see what kind of speeds I can get. Then she'll be tamed down for 5s and track running. |

What kinds of speeds are we talking about?

My Vendetta ST went about that fast... Had a Neu 1107 in there with a 1/10th sidewinder esc. It was pretty quick.:mdr:
However, I never clocked it. It probably only went... like.... 50.:eyes: I do have a video though! |

I wasn't really trying too hard and I got my Hyper to 54mph, and my crt.5 broke 60.
Truggies should be able to do huge speeds considering they are so stable and well balanced. All I can say is if a rustler can do it, a trug should easily do it. 80+, go for it, lets see it. |
Will do. I'm converting the Jammin CRT now. With the gears I have on hand, speed calc says up to 116mph... Doubtful on this number but it should be all of 80+, just hope I dont burn up the MMM.
As soon as I get it back together, I'm going to give it a shot. |

The most difficult thing will be finding the correct tire choice.

I beleive JZEmaxx hit 80.

Lutach - looks like we need to hook up somewhere to break some records ;)

Only issue is being able to gear up my revo faster... Truggies/gtp/stampede shouldn't be an issue...
I just don;t have a radar... |

I have the ability to gear my Matrix 20/52 on 6s zippy flight max... i dont know if I should or not.. No speed testing equipment
Wow.. Now that I check the speed calc- 14/52 on 6s gets me almost 80mph Differential Ratio: 3.45 Transmission Ratio: 1 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 52 Pinion Tooth Count: 14 Total Voltage: 22.2 Motor KV: 2200 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.8 Tire Ballooning (inches): .5 Motor Current Draw: 50 Motor coil Ω: 0.006 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 3.71 : 1 Total Ratio: 12.81429 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 21.36 inches (542.62 mm) Total Motor Speed: 48180 RPM Vehicle Speed: 76.06 mph (122.18 km/h) Effective KV Value: 2170.27 KT constant: 0.61 oz-in/A Motor Torque: 0.16 ft-lbs Final Torque: 2.05 ft-lbs Final Power: 1110 watts (1.5 HP) OR theres the 16t pinion: Differential Ratio: 3.45 Transmission Ratio: 1 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 52 Pinion Tooth Count: 16 Total Voltage: 22.2 Motor KV: 2200 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.8 Tire Ballooning (inches): .5 Motor Current Draw: 50 Motor coil Ω: 0.006 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 3.25 : 1 Total Ratio: 11.2125 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 21.36 inches (542.62 mm) Total Motor Speed: 48180 RPM Vehicle Speed: 86.93 mph (139.64 km/h) Effective KV Value: 2170.27 KT constant: 0.61 oz-in/A Motor Torque: 0.16 ft-lbs Final Torque: 1.79 ft-lbs Final Power: 1110 watts (1.5 HP) 20t... Have I just started the new speed flu pandemic?

hmmm My freind has a hyper7 buggy with the 2650 in it.... 6s would make it AMazing.

6s on a 2650 is really not recommended tho...
However, I could try that as well, 6s on my 2650 combo in my Jammin X1 buggy... |

I've run into a problem...
I'm using Mike's motor mount in my Jammin Truggy. I love it however, with the freakin ferris wheel of a spur gear(62T) I can only mesh a 18T pinion yielding not so favorable numbers for now.... only 73mph. I was going to try 22/88 on 6s first which should have yielded about 85mph. Differential Ratio: 3.3076923076923075 Transmission Ratio: 1 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 62 Pinion Tooth Count: 18 Total Voltage: 22.2 Motor KV: 2200 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.6 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0.1 Motor Current Draw: 75 Motor coil Ω: 0.006 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 3.44 : 1 Total Ratio: 11.39316 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 18.22 inches (462.82 mm) Total Motor Speed: 47850 RPM Vehicle Speed: 72.47 mph (116.41 km/h) Effective KV Value: 2155.41 KT constant: 0.61 oz-in/A Motor Torque: 0.24 ft-lbs Final Torque: 2.74 ft-lbs Final Power: 1665 watts (2.2 HP) However, I do have an extra center diff from my Jammin buggy(48T). So I will probably swap that in place and run 18/48 20/48 and then 22/48 on some speed attempts... |
My eaglethree has mesured 63559 turn/minute in my st-rr with HPI Phaltline 0.44 meters of circumference gear 12/46
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20899 is equivalent a 101.8 KM/h sorry for my bad english |
Just made a couple quick passes with the Jammin, geared 18/48 with 13/43 diffs on 5s. This thing is insane and a torque monster. I don't know how to keep the front end down and the front tires from ballooning insanely! Unfortunatly I lost the damn pinion gear, so I'll be forced to run either the 20T or 22T next. Honestly I'm kinda scared to.
Thinking about putting some thicker diff fluid, or locking silicone in the CD. Thinking this will increase wheelies but kill some of the unloading. I can dial out the wheelies with punch control settings. Just an animal.... |
That's crazy fast, man.... I like it! :yipi: It reminds me of my Rustler- Any increase beyond 30% throttle is like "auto tire-spin" mode, and it isn't just hitting the end of the punch control. Isn't excessive power fun?
|
I can't keep the damn pinion on. Lost it twice more, luckily I found it both times. I made a couple passes on 5s at 22/48 and its insane. I'll make a couple more passes and throw the GPS on it. I doubt I get any video, no one to video for me.
|
51.6mph was the best so far geared 22/48 on 5s. I can't make a good run without the damn pinion flying off. I've never had this problem before...
Any suggestions? |
