I Think I Broke My System!!!

i did a backflip and had a bad landing. Than it stopped, i took ti home and lifted it up. when i pull on thorttle, it coggs ALOT. Im on 1/3rd full throttle and it still coggs... I tempted the motor at 180... It was only 16 cells. I was tempted.... Plz tell my my ewsc is fine, and that its just hte motor!

coolhandcountry 01.20.2006 05:01 PM

You may have messed up the esc. Did it land on the esc or just jar it real hard? Make sure all your connections are still tight.

crazyjr 01.20.2006 05:44 PM

Nbcazn. Did you try the flip without the body

Nick 01.20.2006 06:11 PM

You might of bent a CVD or something, or broke a tooth on spur? Can relate to a "cogging" effect.

squeeforever 01.20.2006 06:15 PM

check your batteries. might have a loose battery bar or you might have knocked something loose in the esc like a cap or resistor or something.

nbcaznmaster 01.20.2006 06:18 PM

I tookt he motor out, and it COGGS like crayz. Its not in the revo or anythign either...

squeeforever 01.20.2006 06:21 PM

did you check the batteries?

coolhandcountry 01.20.2006 06:22 PM

did you check your wires. batteries. and stuff

captain harlock 01.20.2006 07:42 PM

You probably wont find anyone to trade with you this time, buddy. Though I'm not sure.

nbcaznmaster 01.20.2006 08:40 PM

batts are fine, so are wires. OH shoot...i smell something on the esc. It smells liek my 959 when im charging batts. DONT TELL ME IT FRIED? its temp was only 130!!!

squeeforever 01.20.2006 09:01 PM

temps not everything. you could have had something shooken loose or something.

nbcaznmaster 01.20.2006 09:16 PM

inside the esc?

phildogg 01.20.2006 10:11 PM

It doesn't sound too good..
phil

squeeforever 01.20.2006 10:28 PM

yes, inside the esc. i know that metalman has had a similar problem i think. he opened it up and had a missing resistor and a broken chip fet i think.

nbcaznmaster 01.20.2006 10:54 PM

lol, how much woudl ti cost to send it to BK and have them fix it? I dont wanna messs with this stuff

squeeforever 01.20.2006 11:29 PM

email mike. he might be able to fix it. if you feel comfortable taking the shrink off i certainly would to see is there is anything wrong.

p.s.-did you see if the jumpers were on? red AND black? the black being missing might cause this.

MetalMan 01.21.2006 01:42 AM

I damaged a Warrior 9918 after a bad landing from a jump. Opened up the shrink wrap, to find that one of the parts on the bottom was chipped pretty badly. Mike sent me a part to try, but it still didn't work. So then I sent the controller to Mike, and he was unable to fix it, so he sent it to BK.

P.S. Mike, any info. about the controller?

Superemaxx89 01.21.2006 01:56 AM

how long ago did you damage the 9918?

MetalMan 01.21.2006 02:22 AM

It was originally damaged around the middle of August, and I think Mike sent it to BK around the end of October.

Basketti 01.21.2006 06:12 AM

How do you mount the controller to the truck so that it wont get damaged? you cant exactly wrap it in bubble wrap cause of the heat, so what can you do?

Serum 01.21.2006 06:32 AM

Just make sure that the controller is not able to directly hit the ground. and pad it with some foam. the bottom of the pcb is rather fragile. i still don't understand why they don't make a standard esc holder. it would add some weight, but the safety might be needed in some cases.

I used two aluminium U-profiles to mount a controller.

nbcaznmaster 01.21.2006 09:46 AM

i did dafni style mounts. so it should be fine, had body on and eveyerthing. WHeres teh black jumpoer located? I tried to find ti before but never could.

squeeforever 01.21.2006 10:25 AM

about 3/16 of a inch back from the red.

nbcaznmaster 01.21.2006 01:39 PM

SHOOT
black is msisign, but i thought u needed to remove this in order for u to use a rx pack

squeeforever 01.21.2006 02:42 PM

yes. try it with a rec. pack. that might fix the problem.

nbcaznmaster 01.21.2006 03:11 PM

ive always been usign a rx pack

squeeforever 01.21.2006 03:13 PM

your screwed lol. did you pull the shrink off and look at it? email or pm mike and see what he says.

nbcaznmaster 01.21.2006 05:46 PM

oh god.,...OH GOD! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(

MetalMan 01.21.2006 08:46 PM

Welcome to the excitement of burned out BL controllers. I've burned out 2 Warrior 9918s, and one MGM 12012. You don't know frustration yet ;).

nbcaznmaster 01.21.2006 08:48 PM

well it dint smoke. And it still runs. So i dont think its burnt. Though there is a smell to it now.... Maybe its cuz it got hotter than usuall. Before, i the temps never went past 80. Thats cuz it was usualy 30 degrees outside

RC-Monster Mike 01.22.2006 11:53 AM

I should see your controller anytime, Travis. Nbcz...my money says you knocked something loose.

Really?!? I wasn't even expecting it very soon. Any idea on repair costs?

nbcaznmaster 01.24.2006 02:14 PM

when stuff is knocked loose, is it ez to fix?

MetalMan 01.24.2006 09:07 PM

Sometimes. In my case, a chip was partially damaged, but replacing it didn't seem to fix the problem. That's why Mike sent it in to BK.

nbcaznmaster 01.26.2006 07:05 PM

opened up the esc, nothign is loose. Looks perfect. Most likely is interneal. So im screwed. Any1 wanan buy a damaged esc?

MetalMan 01.27.2006 12:18 AM

Send it to Mike to get it fixed! Or, just have Mike take a look at it.

Serum 01.27.2006 03:28 AM

yeah, don't loose faith too quick Nbacz!

nbcaznmaster 01.27.2006 07:38 AM

nbcaznmaster 01.30.2006 07:33 PM

Hey mike! if u see this, i sent out esc monday! hsould be there wed or thursday!

nbcaznmaster 02.14.2006 05:26 PM

Mike says the esc is perfectly fine.... lol, theres a waste of time. I asked mike if he could put it on a car and test it out ot be 100% sure.
