A little warning about additives (yes even the ones that are actually designed, packaged, and sold as), do your damn homework. I had heard many times that injector cleaner was a bad idea in an older vehicle that hadn't had it regularly. Well I forgot this piece of advice and decided to run a few bottles through my car about 6 years ago. No, not all at once either. I put a bottle in to a full tank, as directed, 2 or 3 times. Then one day my car, disaffectionately known as Cli-Taurus decided it liked to quit at random times and not re-start for anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Well it took a few days and some embarrassment in traffic to put the two together.

Yessir, all 6 injectors clogged. With the hardest, nastiest fuel scale from the inside of the lines. So the injector cleaner became line cleaner, and injector destroyer, and rumor confirmed.

This dude took it to another level- but ya gotta pity his dumb ass.... And it's funny until you realize these are the people we share the road with. They are the ones who handle our food. And horrifically, some of them actually run the nation.

And you realize how miraculous it is that some of these people make it through life without having a fatal toaster accident.

Anyways I figured I would get the thread back on topic (yeah right!), just realized that I actually use the real NOS octane booster for my big block truck. The off road stuff that may have lead in it (can't remember) will let me dial in some more timing advance (almost 10deg) on a hot day compared to regular 93 octane. Really makes a difference. 2 bottles in 16 gallons of gas may be pricey, but I got a few cases of it for pulling an engine for a guy a few years ago. The big block is thirsty, and at 12.5:1 compression it is not found of low octane. I probably should run race fuel...
