RPM true track pivot balls keep pop out

Need help to solve my problem with the pivot balls keep pop out of my RPM true track.

mkrusedc 05.25.2009 01:54 PM

Sounds like you stripped the arm. I have heard of the pivot ball pulling out of the axle carrier but not the arm. If you stripped I'd get a new arm.

Thanks mkrusedc it's the "ball pulling out of the axle carrier", sorry

Those Tekno axle carriers are the best.

Or you could use a set screw to keep them in, like Mistercrash did on his ERBE.

mkrusedc 05.25.2009 09:31 PM

You can get the Platinum Revo knuckles. The have a retention ring built in to them or you can cut a piece of brass tubing and make a retention ring yourself.

(If this was covered in the links posted above sorry I was lazy and did not feel like checking)

Okey but It is the true track RPM (rear) I have problem with, is there a solution for this?

Make your own retention ring from a piece of brass/bronze tubing. A dremel tool and about five minutes should do it.

This is what was suggested in the earlier post by mkrusedc.

He is British though! Like linc but without all the weird cross-dressing stuff.

nitrostarter 05.26.2009 09:56 AM

He should have picked up Jersey talk by now...

Arct1k 05.26.2009 10:02 AM

In NJ 4 yrs now and only on a temp work visa - You need a green card to talk Jersey...

nitrostarter 05.26.2009 10:04 AM

LOL!, But 4yrs sounds a little more than temporary to me...

Arct1k 05.26.2009 10:17 AM

Actually 4 yrs is this Sep - I get up to 6yrs before I booted...

Here is the thread. He used copper tubing to make a retention ring on the axle carrier.

That looks spiffy... I also like the traxxas parts that have the steel rings built in!

In the Rpm hub ball ends tend to pop out more than the factory hubs. At least that is what I have read and experienced.

And sod of Harold, leave Chris alone, you bugger.

E-Maxx Sweden 05.26.2009 04:53 PM

Thanks guys, as lincpimp says "the Rpm hub ball ends tend to pop out more than the factory hubs". It's because of the softer plastic material.

I need to see if this will work

Thanks:wink:
