rustler speed runs, then hit by a car

Here's a video of my rustler doing speed runs with 4s lipo, went up and down my newly paved street. then on the 4th run the kia was up to 60, and so was the rustler. thats when it spun out and the chase car just couldn't keep up when it ran it over. I won't give any more away but you will see.

Awe, that aint bad! Mine got hit by a Ford Lightning! :oh:

E-Revonut 05.25.2009 08:21 PM

you only hit 60MPH though:na: A VXL can do that on 3s:rules:

Nah that's pretty impressive cause I couldn't get mine over 40 without it being totally uncontrolable. Now I stick to 4wd!

Rebelgium 05.25.2009 08:25 PM

Damn you're lucky...
Could've been waaaaaaay worse.
Interesting way of doing speed runs though. Have you tried running the rustler behind the car? Other cars will certainly keep their distance once they see your truck...

It was pretty funny seeing those people along the street looking at the truck running without anyone in sight controlling it :p

Just be careful - They are prosectuting people in UK using you tube video as evidence...

You guys didnt see this as inevitable?

eovnu87435ds 05.25.2009 10:33 PM

I knew the front wheels would come off the ground, i didnt know it was gonna spin out like it did. that was gonna be the last run too. I was shaking for more than 2 hours after the fact

Where's the keyboard cat to play the rustler off?

I smell remix... :)

I've done runs like that before with my baja but it's best to stay a little bit further back in the car. Also you may want to find a less populated more out of the way road next time. These are easy to come by around here. Less likely something will go wrong.

Or drive it behind the 1:1 car, or on the side =/

It's too hard to look out the back and then you are limited by the speed and acceleration of the 1:1. It is awesome fun trying to follow a baja 5B down a dirt road especially one that isn't straight. The baja (and it would be the same with any RC) has crazy acceleration you just have to be careful not to spin unexpectedly for the reason above.

few problems with that there... we stayed close because 1, the camera is taped to the dashboard, so it cant really be changed. 2, A baja is alot bigger than a rustler. A car would be less likely to pull out with a car close by rather than farther off... If they are concentrating on the kia, they more than likely won't see the rustler when pulling out. squish. The reason we did choose this road is because it is freshly paved! no rocks, no bumps, just smooth asphalt

Hehe cool... you guys better hope you don't pass a cop doing this tho, if there isn't a law already it will be written for you.....

I wanted to do this with onboard video, so the RC seems to be just cruising by itself (I'm not encouraging this) but I am not risking my truck or anything else, even tho I do know a few perfect roads to do it on

Nice! Uhhh I mean bad! Don't do that!

rawfuls 05.26.2009 11:05 PM

Haha, just drive it off the road when you see a cop, and keep driving acting like someone else is driving it, and hope the cop doesn't see it, and you don't get out of range :P
