Trouble setting up the RX8

My prob. is this....I have forward and reverse as I am supposed to have w/my radio....but...all of the power is in reverse not forward. Everything is backwards (Power)even though the controls are correct. I have calibrated and re-calibrated several times w/no luck Any ideas?

My radio is a Futaba 3PM

switch the reverse on the radio, or if the motor is spining backwards, set it in to the 7th drive profile:yes:

Well....I tried this and POOF!! dead esc.:diablo:

I would be surprised if the failure was radio related. I would be more apt to blame it on a faulty ESC. There are failures in any electronic device after all...

I hope so....Everything was working in rev.....The set up sheet use the setting to rev. motor direction....so I did and re-calibrated, pulled the trigger and POOF lots of smoke

remove the sensor harness and then reverse any two of the three motor wires.

The esc puffed last night as I stated above

TekinTeamMgr 05.30.2009 11:43 PM

DO NOT run the motor wired wrong. You MUST have a to a, b to b, and c to c.

You can do this ONLY if you are going to run a sensorless motor, period!

A radio calibration should not have caused a unit to fail. Contact support@teamtekin.com so we can take care of you.

I did have the motor wired correctly....I triple checked before I plugged the batteries in.

I sent you guys an e-mail on Fri. night:yes: Thanks

I think he was referring to the "help" suggestion from Himalya

As long as you use the system as sensorless, it's no problem to alt rotation direction by swaping two wires. If the sensor harness is connected, the wire sequence must not chage for sure.

You are right...I am sending the esc in tomorrow for them to look at...in the meantime, this weekend I will solder some new bullet connectors on so I can use the T8 motor w/my mmm esc

magman 06.21.2009 03:56 PM

I just got the esc back the other day and I need to set the profile to the 7th drive profile...I thought that I had it in that setting, but when Tekin looked at the esc I sent in, it was not in the 7th drive setting. Can some one help me out here.

I did notice a small box on the right side w/reverse next to it...is that the setting to rev. motor direction?

Also, w/regards to lvc.....for a 6s application, do I set it for 3.3...does that mean /cell or should I set it for 19.8 ...I am not sure

you need to check the little box and select the drive profile you want...

set it to 19.8:yes:

I figured out the little box after I posted this. I thought that I needed to set it to 19.8, but I would rather be safe and ask ....thanks a bunch:mdr:

Today I tried to recalibrate my RX8 with Futaba 3PM FASST 2,4GHz radios because radio settings was wrong in the first time... In the first time calibrating was succesful but in this time it didn't work right.

When I tried to recalibrate RX8, it did find the neutral position right and the RX8 did "beep" voice and the LED's were blinking, but when it tried to find full throttle position, it didn't find it and LED's did not blink and there was no voice at all, but when I tried to change the trigger position to full brake, it found it and then it found full throttle...

What is this ?? I tried to recalibrate for many times but RX8 won't find full throttle.

The radio connections and motor wirings to T8 are right, I use sensor harness with T8..

Can anyone help me ?

TekinTeamMgr 08.05.2009 06:26 PM

On the Futaba radio you MUST set the throttle channel in reverse mode.

E-Revolution 08.05.2009 06:31 PM

Oh I didn't know that it must be in reverse mode, I will try it soon.

Thanks very much !

E-Revolution 08.05.2009 06:40 PM

YES, it works, everything is working fine now and calibrating was succesful !

Thanks very much:mdr: !
