Best dorp in engine for a revo

I was thinking of a picco .26 JL red dot.
What do you guys think?

Metallover 06.02.2009 12:13 AM

This is a place for brushless stuff. I'd post this in the "gernal nitro" section.

I have no clue about nitro engines. Don't waste your time. Get a brushless system.

well, i don't know about the best dorp in engine, but the picco .26 you mentioned is definitely the best drop in engine if you seal the backplate and a couple areas on the carburetor. it will make much more power than anything else that is a direct drop in. be prepared for wheelies and gearing up for more top speed.

Brushless.

No, that's perfect. However it's more like finding dual piccos!:yipi::yipi:

Personally i found no better engine than the 3.3 traxxas, i only run traxxas, but others in my area have run others and none ever run better or run as reliably as my 3.3's

shaunsmaxx 08.18.2009 02:23 PM

I had great luck with my 3.3's but at the moment I'm running a sirio .27 made for the revo and I love it. They are a bit pricey though. When this motor goes I'll be going back to the 3.3. I like them better than the os .18 i had in it too.

the best engine for my old revo was a .18TZ IMO.
i hated big blocks because they sucked the fuel and weighed a ton!!

so i had a 2.5 revo with close ratio gearbox, CD and rear brake (2.5 chassis modded to take rear brake) and it was sick!!
the little TZ completely destroyed all the big blocks at the track (inc a serio .27) and was totaly sick.
shortly after i sold my nitro revo to get back into electric again. (cause you know...3 races in nitro trucks and had already placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd  it was too easy )

bigger isnt always better IMO and hence i made 1/3 less pit stops :yipi:

and as for 3.3's....CRAPO engines stock...mod them and give em a THS pipe on OMFG they go off their ****!!!! insain amount of power but it is short lasted, they are still a B**** to tune and still cant beat the TZ.

hence why everyone here is a hardcore BL fan

I love the .18TZ bumpstart engine in my revo.

Bondonutz 08.21.2009 12:00 PM

I had great luck myself w/18TZ.
Went BL and never looked back.

It's specifically designed for the prod edition revo

BL_RV0 08.22.2009 02:04 PM

Oh yeah, I had one of those, I think my flux capacitor ate it.
