Made a track for my micro t
I was bored last night, so I decided to make a track for my micro T. The little guy has a capacitor added to the board and a rhino 610mah 2s lipo. I flipped the wheels, It has aluminum front shocks, aluminum front camber links, and the antenna mod was done. It's so frickin fast for a stock motor... Once this one dies (runs at 150-170, seen it at 210+) I'll go for the atomic bb2 motor. That should be pretty quick.

what antenna mod? my micro antenna is toast
|
lol at the deans plug
phowa!! does that mean your micro-T draws over 100A  i like all these battery mods and such that people are doing. mine is stock so far cept for the lipo (which is crap, NEVER BUY LOSI LIPO) and ive had a ball with it at school :yipi: nice track:wink::yes: |

I used a full deans plug because it was easiest and I don't need to get a charge adapter and go though all that crap... Hobbycity lipos are all I will ever get for my micro. I got a 610mah one and it's pretty heavy and it's what I think contributes to my motor overheating. There is a 460mah lipo that fits a little better. I had to take all the plastic off the sides to get mine to fit. Here's a pic of a 410mah in a micro dt. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8551392 BTW mine is a Desert truck |
Cool track. Why do you have so many carpet samples?

My mom used to be a int. designer about 15 years ago.

That's kind of a neat idea. The carpet squares are moldable for jumps/whatever, and being squares, can make any design you want. People should do something like that for full size tracks.

nice... is there a video? :)

I might get a video up... I'm pretty bored. Two more questions - Can anyone stack fets for me? How long to caps take to recharge? |
It's been 9 minutes. How long till the video?

Remind me tomorrow and I'll post it up. Youtube isn't working due to "site maintenance"
Just a heads up it was hard to film and drive at the same time... And I suck at driving... |
Well, photobucket quality sucks. Youtube is gay and keeps having an unknown error.
AND I suck at driving. AND I and trying to film and drive at the same time. <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i345.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid345.photobucket.com/albums/p382/metallover1/S7301827.flv"> |
I have to agree, you really suck at driving  But maybe it's hard to drive a 1/36, never drove one, only 1/18th scale...
But the track looks good, and simple to build, I like that! I've got a 1/18th scale Duratrax Vendetta, and I thought it would be fun to drive with it at home, but it's still far too big for my room... What do you think about 1/36 for running at home? I might want to get 2 of them, to race with my father. But are they stock good enough for indoor, or do they need many upgrades? (Ball bearings, oil shocks?) |
Just stock they are pretty good trucks, except for one thing - they need is a lipo. I would stay away from the losi lipo and get a few lipos on hobbycity. iirc the 2s 460 rhino fits with little modification, so I'd get that.
And comparing the t to DT to raminator to baja, get the desert truck. I had a baja and the chassis was too short and the steering links broke all the time. The DT has an extended chassis and a longer bumper in the front. The only upgrades I would get right away would be threaded axles and ball bearings; but they are not needed. Once you drive it a little bit you could look into oil shocks. If it doesn't have the speed you're looking for, you could get the atomic BB2 motor for atomicmods.com. It has less turns and ball bearings. The perfect room to drive micro T's would be a room around 12x16'+ with carpet that is very short. (don't know the word for it) My track was in a little 11x10' room and it was a little small, but it worked. I also drive it outside sometimes on my driveway. Thick, plush carpet is a little too much for a micro t. Hardwood will also work, but can get a little slick in the right situations. Make sure to do a couple mods. One is the antenna mod which was discussed on page 1, and flip the wheels for a much wider stance. Make sure to get a tiny phillips screwdriver for working on it. #00 My driving is a little better without filming and my driving is pretty good with a bigger area. Upstairs in my living room it's 11x20 with a 15'x4' hallway. I'm a pro driver up there. |
