question for Serum
Serum I wanted to ask to you as I never do not succeed to see your site one www.serum.demon.nl I wanted to give one occhita to your plans.
|
|
I wanted to know if you have some interesting video, savage etc.
I have taken the chassis of the Fastlane with the skidplate ones, and wanted to replace the trasmission of the savage with a center diff |
That is a nice plan!
I have got the FLM plates too, and i am building another savage, with a 2 speed and 20 cells. did you get the long FLM ( +40mm) or the normal sized? I've got this plan for a centerdiff, just need to get a FLM skid and some costum dogbones to get it right. my movie was on rcpics, but they removed it for the 3rd time.. Uploading it as we speak, it's slow though.. |

I have taken that normal lenght (long) with the skid does not center them, I have a created motor support from a my friend for 777, I wanted use one in order to put it on mine savage
|
wow truly a beautiful video the truck is truly a missile

this is a mp777 brushless proto
|
:p
that's on only 16 cells! well, that 2 speed transmission does the job for sure. You did a great job on that motormount/diffholder! very nice! are you able to have more made with ease? (and are you willing to sell one?) About that 777, Mike makes a convertor, that allows you to use a plastic 51T ofna spur on that diff. The metal spur will eat the pinion gear. |
That is some nice work on that buggy. I like your mount that you made as well.

We have the diff with the plastic spur, that one of metal will come removed, this is a prototype but probably of it we will make others, I will be happy for sending some to you not hardly I will have some
|
This is one nice buggy, Viruss!
But heck, this motor mount looks alot like one I did recently! I may post a pic tomorrow. Serum, I knew you would ask for one;) |
This support has made it a my friend, hour we will try it Sunday with 1940/8 and 2 lipo from 3700mha 6S 30C(flightpower)...
|
very nice work let us know how the tests go
|
YEAH!
those flightpowers are THE BOMB! :p That thing will be a hand full!! that setup is nice for a heavy weight truck, so it will make that little thing fly.. You contacted Nasa? |
How are those mounts above the motor working out for you guys? Helps save space for mounting other things, but what do you sacrifice in strength? Thanks, nice buggy by the way.
|
sorry i dont understand very well your question(i am italian)if you refer to the aluminum support that goes from the support of the dif centers them to the diff front, servants for to rest the electronics(esc-rice)
|
Sorry, I meant the vertical motor mount. I thought mounting it above the center differential would make it weaker than to the side.
|
ahhh ok i understand, the motor support made from 6mm high quality aluminium, and there is very very strong,we have chosen to put it over, in order to earn space, and in us it seemed also beautiful. :)

brushless will break another record :p |
Here's a pic of my mount, made it for my current project.

Beautiful support, where you must use?
|
I've found that 1/8" thick vertical motor mounts don't work, but 1/4" (6mm) work just fine. The 1/8" just bend like crazy!
|
1/8th would be a nice size for CF, not for aluminum. I use 6mm or 10mm thick aluminum for my mounts. for the lightning i used 5mm, and it needed a brace, to support the XL.
It pretty much depends on the weight of the motor though |
Serum I wanted to ask to you that pinion it uses on the savage, and that spur, I use 18/49
|
ah my gearbox is locked in first gear
