Gen4 Servo saver
Whats peoples opinions on the UE Servo Savers (stearing rack)?
After buying the Widetrac arms, was so amazed at the quality, can't resist UE now. :) Is it noticable in performance? (Against stock) |
The difference is like night an day.

I've got the pro-line servo saver. For a third of the price of the ue, I'd say it does a very good job
Yeah except the proline one's aren't made anymore.
The UE is hand's down one of the first and best thing's you really should upgrade on a maxx. The steering will be straight to the point, stock steering assembly just won't cut it. |

The ones on eBay are GPM.

Yes I know you can get used proline's, but if you ever break one, you will have to find them. As they are discontinued, the availability will decrease after time, thus makeing it harder to find replacement part's.
Do it right the first time and get the ue one. You will not regret it. |
Ok, just to clear things up. You CAN get NEW pro-line servo savers, I know - I've got one! No they're not as good as the ue, but for the price they do a good job. It just depends on how much your willing to spend.
Where you get new ones? There are some still around but they are not made. So you can get some new off ebay but that is about it. Ue is a great servo saver. I have had the proline and the ue. Ue is better than proline. It makes the truck drive much better. I think they are well worth the money.
I have the UE one, its heaps better than stock! now it actually turns and doesnt just wind the spring and you can control it at high speeds.
i am looking into getting a knew one it sounds like the ue ones are best or are there other ones similar(other than the proline) that would be good(that might be cheaper)?
There are some like gpm steering assembly's, but they don't got the intigrated spring system. So you still have to use servo horn's with a spring in them. Besides, the quality of gpm isn't all that good.
I would just go with the UE, alot of people always ask if theres a cheaper alternative, but its just better to get the UE cause its alot better quality and you just "set it and forget it" lol
Actually, with this servo saver that is not true. You need to maintain it, clean and lube once in a while. If sand get's stuck in the spring and you run it like this, it will cause wear.
LOL, that was the set and forget part. This needs to be done though, with all the servo savers that use this shaft cam.
The proline is okay, but the UE is superior. And like Sneeck mentioned, the Pro-lines are getting rare, so getting spare parts will become a pita. |
well i didnt actually mean forget about it, i ment you wont have to worry about it breaking or bending or anything. Should have chosen my words more carefully. I just remembered "set it and forget it" off an infomercial lol.
the UE server saver is awesome. I stripped one of the screws once, and I drilled the head off and ordered just a replacement post from Robin. I was back up and running for just a few bucks instead of ordering a complete replacement. I've got parts coming from Mike that I will have almost enough parts to get the original Maxx back up and running. If I do get the almost stocker running again, the UE servo saver will be ordered with the servo.
