anyone on here recieve their 1/16 slash or revo yet?
a mini review would be nice. im also curious to know how the stock 6 cell nimh powercell performs. im in need of a 6 cell nimh pack for my stock rc18.
|
Mine will be here on Thursday from Tower, possibly may have one by Weds from my LHS as well.
|
My LHS has a slash & e-revo sitting there... he just called me to try and get me to come buy one.
I think my wife would kill me, though  Tony |
My E-Revo VXL should arrive on Friday. I'll be sure to get vid/pics.
|
I wonder how many problems it will have. Traxxas has never made a mini and this is a new kit, so I'm sure a few kinks will have to be worked out. Or maybe traxxas thought this through a lot..
|
ok ill be looking forward to hearing about them. ive been debating whether or not if i should replace my modified rc18mt for the revo. im keeping my stock rc18 tho..thats my inhouse vehicle.
oh, hey are you guys gonna keep that nimh battery that comes with it? if not, pm me to how much you would sell it for shipped to CA. |
I have 2 VXL Slashes and a VXL E-Revo sitting out in my vehicle. My LHS called me this morning and said they came in. They didn't even bring them out of the back until I could make it down there to take my pick of the colors I wanted. :mdr:
So now I have an Amsoil Slash, Whelchel Slash and Blue E-Revo. On Thursday, I'll be receiving in a Red Slash :grrrrrr: and a Red E-Revo. More than likely the Red Slash will be finding it's way onto eBay or back to Tower. |

Let's just hope it's not another Mini-LST... ;) I really want one!
|
Pulled one out of the box at the LHS to look at, it's really sweet. Smaller then I'd pictured, actually.
Too bad the wife threatened to kill me if I bought one... |

LHS has them but I didn't stop by to check them out yet. One guy ran his and said it was pulling wheelies pretty easy out of the box....
|
Believe it or not, I'm new enough to the hobby I haven't seen a CRT .5
|
I've got some of mine...1 more of each on the way still though.

nice... you have any other 1/18 or 1/10 cars to put side by side with them?
|
great pics. yea do you have a rc18 to compare it with.
those revo tires look pretty wide. i like em. so did you get a chance to run them yet |

XTM Rage next to them. The XTM Rage is the same size as a Mini Quake and both are larger than a RC18T/MT or Mini-T. http://skellyo.com/fs/vxl_7.jpg Here's some comparison shots of a stock RC18T tire/wheel next to the tires/wheels of the VXL Slash and VXL E-Revo. The RC18T tire is pretty darn small compared to that of the E-Revo, but not much smaller than the tire on the Slash. http://skellyo.com/fs/vxl_8.jpg http://skellyo.com/fs/vxl_9.jpg http://skellyo.com/fs/vxl_10.jpg |

holy, that revo is waaay bigger than i expected. makes the xtm and rc18 like they're actually the mini's.
i like that xtm tho haha. cant believe you bought 3-4 vxl slash/revo when you already have that xtm. do you not like how it performs or something? |

Damn... I really want a Revo VXL now. My RC18T is too big for indoors but not big enough for outside in my front yard. The 1/16 looks like it would be great outside considering I have a relativity smooth bashing area.
|
Cool, thanks... the Revo does look like a mean little basher!
|
They are smaller than I thought too. Read somewhere someone was saying real close to a 1/10 buggy, they are smaller than that. I want one, but everything is plastic and the shocks were leaking on the display model I saw, it had never been ran either.
|
|
they look fun on youtube even just stock...too bad i just bought a b44..... oh well maybe ill put some truck tires on the b44 and pretend its a mini revo...
|
I know it's been asked for on one of the thread, I got a comparrison shot with a CRT.5
http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/i...Picture110.jpg The LHS has a bunch of each in, but are way overpriced at $290 for the slash and $300 for the Revo when I can pick up a revo for $230 on tower w/ code. They did let me play with it though. It's raining and has been all day here, I headed straight for the deepest puddle around! It plowed through it and kept going! It's a fun little truck and with a few upgrades would prolly be awesome |

I can't wait till mine comes in from H.H. |
E-Revonut, thanks for the comparison pic! Does that CRT.5 have an extended chassis? Also, how much different is the ground clearance compared to the mini E-Revo?
Thanks! |
Yes I have the Ofna ext chassis. Didn't pay close enough attention to the ground clearence but I would say there pretty close
|
Hmm... that picture sways me towards getting a Hyper STe. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hyper STe could go a few places the revo couldn't.
|
I'm woundering, Is the suspension in the Mini E-Revo set up really soft or can it drop/jump kinda high without bottoming out to bad ?
|
My E-Revo VXL should arrive tomorrow. I'll be sure to take several comparison shots between the CRT.5, E-Revo VXL, Vendetta ST, and RC18B to give everyone a better idea of where the E-Revo VXL fits in.
I'll take video and do some EagleTree graphs as well. |
the mini revo's esc is rated up to only 3s right? there's a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA3CL00dPT4 saying it does 59mph on 4s!!?!?! I think they confused the fact that since they put in 2 x 2s lipos they thought they were running 4s (if they were using a parallel connector) but i believe its a series connector...IDK....and if you run 4s on the mini ESC won't it fry?

I got mine and posted a Video before, Well today I did some work on it and discovered a bunch of interesting things. First off the Waterproofing of the VXL is basically just plastic dipped, Secondly a Medusa motor (36-50) could fit with very little modification, It will take a bit of dremeling to the Rear shock holder. Also here is some pictures of size comparisions.

hmmm what size wheels are those 2 inch, 2.2 inch? are they 12mm hex or pin drive? and whats the heigt and width of the stock tires....?
|
I would say 2.0's, 12mm Hex, and about 3inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide
|
I think Traxxas has always used some sort of hex with all their recent models, but I could be wrong.
I'd love to get one, but I have a CRT.5 to put Lipos in and a buggy project I'm about to start. If it were a little bigger maybe the local guys will let me race my CRT.5 with them. |
im thinking b44 rear wheels all around with buggy 2.2 rears for an LPR truggy like setup, opens it up to a TON of tire options like goosebumps, stepins, studs, bowties, holeshots, w/e you like and they are LIGHT there is no telling what those little trucks could do with good tires on them...
