Don't you hate it when other people clean/reorganize your work space?
Earlier this month my shop room had to be converted to be a bedroom as we had lots of company. My dad swept it all up and we both cleaned all the other crap. It took all night and I was aggrivated I had to clean it.:whip:
After looking for at least 3 hours, I ended up missing over 10 meters of heat shrink and a [$12] dogbone from the lil micro t. DAMMIT.:diablo::diablo: He doesn't know what the hell he's doing either. I found a foot of 16 gauge wire and a case to a stun gun in the little remaining trash in the room. dammit. dammit. |
My parents have cleaned my basement workshop- once. I told them if they did it again I would clean their rooms and throw out everything "I" didn't think was of use.
YES it is a mess, YES I know I should clean it. But as it is now I know where EVERYTHING is! They can't seem to understand how I can reach into a random pile of parts on my bench and pull out just the one I need. |
I have cleaned my own areas up many times and manage to loose stuff every time. But I do hate it when others move my stuff around. Luckily I have threatened death and people have no idea how far I will go.
With that avatar, I wouldn't dare push it...
My dad cleaned up my little room a couple times, not the workshop, but just my room.. I couldn't find a thing for about a week.... |
Oh god, don't get me started. We have a cleaning lady what just shoves things in random drawers to clean off spaces... Maybe that's why I never get anything done!!!
^^^ You should make that room off-limits.
Oh god, to think of my dad came in here again, to clean my room.
I have 6 drawers behind me, that used to be all blank. Ever since I started RC, it's been filled with goodies. If my parents were to dump all my drawers out, I'd cry. Seriously, if I need an ESC, or something related to onroad tires, look on top right drawer. Parts, middle, right drawer, helis, left middle, and on and on. It took me nearly a week to organize everything exactly how I like it.... Though, I DO need to clean up some day... |
I have an airsoft AK47 that is very real-looking with the orange top painted black... Maybe I'll just sit here with that loaded on full auto with the door closed and a sign reading "prepare to be shot".
Then you'll have a SWAT team swing in the window behind you and that will be the end of BL_RV0.
Wait, so you're the green dude in Linc's avatar?
:intello: |
Oprah?

IS THAT A CHALLENGE I HEAR?
I think this is getting way off topic, huh... |
When was this about Batman?
lol, everyone knows "my area" is MY AREA. With all the wires and impressive looking components (I use my bench of electronics projects too), people are too scared to go near it for fear of electrocution.
And to those whose parents clean up after them: I say "too bad". As a parent myself, I figure it's my house, my payment, my rules. If it's not clean enough to my standards, it gets "taken care of" in a manner of my choosing depending on how many times I had to ask them to clean it up themselves. And if that's not good enough, the house has two exit doors, both freely available. |
Nothing wrong with off-topic threads. Fun. We have enough on topic threads, but they're mostly MA or FD bashing threads...
Well here's the thing- I know it's "their house" but they gave me "my area" to work on things. It's on the storage side of the basement (the other side is finished) so nobody goes over there except me.
Exactly! I think a big wall-building project is in order!
Ha, there is already a wall between them. With a door. That was part of the finishing so they didn't have to see all of their crap over on the other side.
Door schmoor. Teleportation device is where it's at!
Yes that would be ideal. It's on my ever-growing project list.
I'm guessing it's #38 on the list. Am I right? I used my weegee (sp?) board to find the number.
It's #332. #331 is the portable wormhole generator. #330 is nanospire zero-point energy extraction. #229 is a screen door for a submarine.
Is #333 a piston return spring?
IIRC #333 was a clear lexan lamp shade.
#333 is the left-handed screwdriver. Guaranteed not to work in your right hand or your money back!
Or maybe a steel window?
Oh, if my parents ask me to clean it up, I do...
I'm asian, and asian standards are high, no offense to other "asians"... I, myself, hate messy rooms, I love clean rooms.. It's basically an OCD. My lockers are spotless... Not even kidding. My friends ask how I do it, I just say, do what.. Well, nvm. |
Helicopter ejection seat... oh wait, we have those. :mdr:
That could end very badly..
The blades self-destruct before ejection (explosive bolts).
That sounds expensive...
waterproof tea bags!
washable permanet marker |
Solar powered flashlights
Submarine screen doors Government efficiency |

Brian ..I can relate. I have a 10yr. old that is a tad messy. Well, she "lost" a few things recently and since then, she has been much better. As far as my rc space goes....it is off limits and she knows it. |
Yeah, I'd flip if someone got into my workspace. I even get p.o.'d when I drop somthing off a high shelf into a lower pile of parts. Sans the fact that it is in the master bedroom.
Everyone knows #333 is a Board Stretcher. |
My RC stuff is a mess, but my parents wont know... I got this down to a science. I have the airconditioning vent blocked in my room, so it gets stuffy with no air circulation(don't worry, ill febreeze it before company comes.) Since itll gag my parents to come in, they just pop their head in the door. All my RC stuff is crowded in the areas of my room that cannot be seen directly from the door! I just have to keep half a room clean and noone ever knows!
Thats the way to do it mike- My parents cant clean my area in the shop- if they were to loose stuff- half of it would be my dads tools so they stay away.
You guys are lucky... My room is only 13x11 so I don't have that option.
